A woman tried to rape a sleeping man after breaking into his apartment during the middle of the night. Chantae Marie Gilman, 28, admitted attempted rape and assault charges but said she didn't know the victim and has no recollection of what happened.

The mum-of-three, who claims she suffers from bipolar disorder and psychosis, climbed into the victim's bed while he was sleeping.
Detective Roger Ishimitsu reported: “Once arriving home he fell asleep on his bed (and) slept very hard due to a long day.”
The victim told police he woke at 2am to find Gilman, who weighs nearly 16 stone, on top of him having sex, while holding his hands above his head.
He then demanded Gilman get off and leave, but she refused and told him to be quiet, according to the police report.
Gilman pleaded guilty to both charges and is due to be sentenced on June 19.
Her plea deal requires her to serve two years probation upon release from custody.

The recent visit of First Lady Dame Patience Jonathan to Enugu has left a big scar on Nollywood. This is because the police in Enugu are currently looking for ways to settle the bitter feud that engulfed the artistes’ community in the state over how an alleged First Lady’s largesse would be shared among top actors who attended her rally.

This feud has seemingly put one group known as Nollywood Apostles against other stakeholders in Enugu State led by Patience Ozokwor popularly known as Mama G, making it very difficult for the center to hold.

As at last Thursday, some of Nollywood’s big wigs involved were still angry and had refused to show up at the Police Area Command, Abakpa Nike, Enugu where the case was domiciled. The Area Commander had arranged for them to settle the matter amicably.

Checks reveal that Nollywood Apostles comprising some of the best faces in the movie industry including Steve Ajebo Eboh, Charles Awurum, Emeka Enyiocha, Benedict Johnson, Chinwe Owoh, and Ngozi Ezeonu among others had been featuring at several PDP campaign rallies including the one that brought Dame Jonathan to Enugu.

According to a source, trouble started after the departure of the First Lady when facilitators of the rally, Patience Ozokwor and Chinyere Wilfred were on stage giving the vote of thanks. An aide to Dame Jonathan had allegedly dropped a parcel containing N3 million into the hands of one of the actors, which he quickly cornered with the connivance of his fellow ‘Apostles’. But the cookies crumbled when the aide called Mama G aside and intimated her of the monetary gift and to whom it was handed.

“The real drama started when the actor who collected the parcel was about to zoom out of the venue in his car. Mama G re-enacted her screen roles for real. In her view, the money was meant for all the stakeholders who graced the rally and not only for the Nollywood Apostles. Mama G stood in the way of the car, yelling and asking to be crushed just as she sent someone to call the police. She didn’t mind being called witch, ashawo and all sorts of unprintable names. She blocked the car until the police came and took all the parties to the station,” a source says.

However, Steve Eboh has denied ever being involved in such a show of shame. He told Entertainer: “I never had anything to do with any money or anything like that. Don’t mind them, my brother. As I speak with you now, I am on my way to see Father Ede in Elele, Rivers State.”

For Charles Awurum, who later returned this reporter’s call after several phone calls made to him, it was denial all the way. Hear him: “I don’t know about any issues concerning Dame Jonathan’s money. I am in Port Harcourt now, please.”

On her part, Patience Ozokwor confirmed the story but she wouldn’t want to elaborate further, until after the elections. “The police have invited everyone to the station for settlement,” she volunteered.

The atmosphere in the maternity centre was serene. There was nothing suggesting the occurrence which took the reporter there. Nurses on duty were courteous but grew cautious and suspicious when it was obvious the reporter was not a patient. Why is he here?

The birth of a new born baby would normally elicit joy and excitement in people. It is more so when the mother has been longing for it without results for years. But, the reverse was the case in a maternity centre (name withheld) situated at Ifosan area of Ilesa, in Osun State where a woman recently gave birth to a baby with two horns on its head.

A tip had given Saturday Tribune photos of the strange baby, the arrival of which caused fear and trepidation among the nurses and the proprietress of the maternity centre. The tip also described the hospital and the geography of its area of operation.

The description was vivid and accurate enough for Saturday Tribune to locate the health centre without much difficulty. Here is the maternity centre where the baby with two horns was born. Then, there was a thick wall of silence. Nurses on duty would neither deny nor confirm the development. The reporter was tossed up and down and finally landed before the proprietress of the centre. She would not talk unless her identity and that of her hospital were protected. The reporter gave his words.

“It is true the baby was born,” she said, but added that the horror of the event compelled her to instruct her staff to keep sealed lips over the development, with a view to warding off public attention to the centre over the scary baby.

Speaking with Saturday Tribune during the visit on Thursday, the proprietress, (she is called matron by her staff) said the woman who gave birth to this deformed baby was “about 25 years old and she has been without a child for three years.”

She explained that “this woman lives in one of the farm settlements on the outskirt of Ilesa. She registered for antenatal service here. So, when she wanted to put to bed, her relatives rushed her here to deliver the baby.

“But we were shocked to the marrow when she eventually delivered the baby with two horns on the head after going into labour for some hours. By the time she was delivered of the baby, it was already dead and we had to separate it from the placenta.

“I have never seen such a terrible creature in my life. So, we helped to pack the dead baby and the placenta and handed them over to them before they left our premises. It was indeed a fearful development and we were saddened about it.

“This is not something we can celebrate. So, I ordered by nurses and other attendants to keep their mouth shut over the incident. But, I am very surprised how you people got to know about it and came here to inquire about it. I do not want anyone to make something unnecessary out of this or create problems for us here,” she stated.

She would not disclose the whereabouts of the woman who delivered the baby. “I cannot give you any details about her. Like I told you, she lives in one of the farm settlements on the outskirts of Ilesa and I don’t really know the area and I want you to leave me out of this matter,” she added.

The woman who froze when she was shown the photographs of the baby, however, confirmed its genuineness but asked how Saturday Tribune got them. A staff member of the clinic also showed Saturday Tribune her own photos of the baby taken with her phone.

All efforts to locate the exact location of the baby’s mother and her identity were not successful.

Enugu—Outspoken Catholic Priest, Reverend Fr. Ejike Mbaka of Adoration Ministries, Enugu, has suspended his weekly crusade until after the general elections due to alleged threat to life.

This left no fewer than 100,000 worshippers stranded and disappointed last Friday.
The Adoration Ground in Emene, Enugu, is noted for attracting over 100,000 worshippers every Friday from the South-East zone and beyond for spiritual healing and deliverance from satanic attacks.
Mbaka had in a statement signed by his Media Officer, Ike Maximus Ugwoke, stated: “It is with a deep sense of concern that we are constrained to make this statement on the continued threat to the life of Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka over his 2015 New Year message titled ‘From Good Luck to Bad Luck.’
“Last Wednesday, mean looking men in a black Hilux besieged his parish compound but they left disappointed when they could not see him”.
When Vanguard visited the Adoration Ground, on Friday night, the place was deserted.

Contacted, The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Ebere Amarizu said , “we do not have any report by Fr. Mbaka over threat to his life,” dismissing the claim as baseless.

A Pastor, John Ajayi, on Tuesday pleaded with an Orile Agege Customary Court in Lagos to dissolve his marriage over his wife’s alleged adultery and desertion.

Ajayi, 49, told the court that his wife, Christiana, left their matrimonial home since 2011. They had been married for 16 years.

Ajayi, a father of three, aged between seven and 14 years, told the court that his wife had an affair with his pastor-friend whom he invited for a church programme.

“When my pastor-friend came to Lagos on my invitation for our church programme, I noticed how my wife was admiring him which made me to suspect a foul play.

“After the pastor had returned to his base in Ibadan, my wife was nowhere to be found in Lagos, so I traced her to Ibadan and met her with the pastor.

Ajayi also alleged that Christiana was not taking care of her family.

“Before she left finally in 2011, whenever she left the house in the morning, she would only return late in the night, she was not taking care of me and my family.

“She would not welcome my family members anytime they come to our house, she did not take care of my mother when she was sick for four years until the woman died.

“The worst of it is that she denied me sex before she left but I maintained my integrity not to commit adultery.

“I reported her to her mother but instead for my wife to heed the counsel of her mother, she chose to fight me,” he said.

Christiana has refused to show up in court for the fifth hearing.

The President of the court, Mr Adegboyega Omilola, told the petitioner to maintain the peace, directing the court bailiff to serve the respondent the court order again.

The Ondo state police command have arrested a 20 year old man for allegedly raping a pregnant National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member at Imoru in Ose local government area of the state.

The suspected rapist, identified as Tumi Ayileka who said he is an Okada rider was among 27 suspected criminals paraded by the State Commissioner of Police, Isaac Eke during his monthly press conference held in Akure, the State Capital yesterday.

According to Eke, the rape victim (name withheld) boarded a motorcycle from Ifon to Imoru where she was posted to by the NYSC.

He narrated that the suspected rapist allegedly dragged her into the bush and forcefully had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.

The suspect who confessed to the crime said he raped the corps member unknowingly.

He said it was his first time of committing the crime, adding that he even still drove the victim home after the act had been carried out.

He said, “she approached me around 7.p.m at Ifon that I should take her to Imoru community where she serves and I obliged after agreeing on N500 charges fee. On our away going, I don’t know the spirit that fell on me and I don’t know when I rode her inside the bush and have carnal knowledge of her.

“Immediately after that incident, the spirit went off and I was ashamed of myself. I didn’t know she was pregnant before and I even took her home. Later on, she reported to the Police station and I was arrested. I don’t know the spirit that fell on me because I have never done that before”.

The Police Commissioner assured that the suspect would soon be charged to court as soon as the judiciary workers end their industrial strike.

President Goodluck Jonathan has said that he believes the leader of the insurgent group, Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau, responsible for thousands of deaths, will be apprehended by government forces before Nigeria’s elections starting March 28.

Mr. Jonathan disclosed this in an interview with Thisday newspaper on Friday.
”God willing we will catch Shekau before the elections,” Mr. Jonathan said in response to a question on what his government is doing about Mr. Shekau’s threat to disrupt the elections.
Mr. Shekau, whose group has killed over 15,000 Nigerians, has remained elusive since the sect launched its series of deadly attacks in 2009.

The problem is not in God talking back. God doesn't hold back because you have been busy chatting with other people. He's the one that said come let us reason the matter together. He's always ready and seriously yearns to chitchat with us.
Sometimes, it seems he's not responding. The truth is that he is responding. The only problem is our minds are too busy to connect to our spirit so that we can pick his signal. Just the same way radio signals are flying all over that room you're in but you won't get anything from it until you raise your antenna. Not until you're able to shut your mind and turn your whole being to him, you may not pick his signal. When you have consistent quality fellowship with God every time, before long, you'll be able to hear his voice even in a market but you have to start from the beginning.
