Budgeting and planning for a state like Lagos is not beans. Obanikoro will dare not try come to such debate. I know Akabueze very well. He sure knows his onions. Fashola didn't just keep him in that position for two tenures for nothing if Akabueze is not a master in the game. If Obanikoro tries it, he will sure live to regret it. |
SolidMoney: Yes tribal politics.I do not condone corruption and I am sure no Igbo man condones it either. My argument is do to the goose what you did to the gander.I am against selective witch hunting because that is really what this whole thing is all about, can't you smell it.If Stella had not effected the radical change in the Aviation industry, would she have been targeted?Do you know how much FFK and his cronies squandered at the aviation industry? In a sane country would he have been roaming over the Internet writing trash? Why has SR not put up an article about FFK?This whole thing is about tribal politics.I am against corruption but like a popular musician said we don't want peace,we want equal right and justice because with these in place peace will surely come.Does the radical change include stealing? Even if FFK stole and got scot free, why cant she make us the Igbos proud by being upright? You can't claim to be a saint and do the opposite. There cannot be any radical change if the change advocate is not radically changed within. I refuse to be bought over by all these tribal claims. If she's clean, I will be among the first to shout leave Igbo alone everywhere but for now, she has brought shame to us, the Igbos and every well meaning Igbo man and woman should condemn her act. Anybody that accepts or justifies evil, evil shall never depart from his household. The Bible said it. |
SolidMoney: Nobody is supporting Oduah stealing. The fact is this whole saga is about tribal politics which our brothers on the other side think they play better. They use their so called media might to fight who ever is from any other tribe that works against their interest. Now we have learnt,we will play this game the way they have been playing it from time immemorial. They control virtually all the formal sectors in this country using this same pattern of play.Ndigbo have learnt and learnt faster like we always do,they are now crying foul.We will never be caught napping again.Never will what happened in the past happen again."Agbisi gba otele,ya murua ako"Until there is a level playing field,we will continue to play this game the way they taught us.Long live Ndigbo.Tribal politics? I will support you to the extent that she was not found wanting or guilty of any of the allegations. The question we should be asking is was she fraudulent in the transactions that was carried out under her watch? Did she overstep her boundaries? Is the recent allegation of certificate cheating true? These are the questions that are begging for answers. Even if politics is involved, she cannot be indicted if her hands are clean. Also for your information, the house committee on aviation that investigated and indicted Oduah is headed by our own sister Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha. Also during the probe, our Igbo brother and a member of the Committee on Aviation, Hon. Matthew Omegara (PDP/Imo), testified that the purchase of the two armoured vehicles was initially proposed in the 2013 Appropriation Bill but was “clearly deleted” during the process of the passage of the bill into law. He argued that the decision by NCAA to go ahead to purchase the vehicles was condemnable and illegal. Are you telling me also that its all politics and these two Igbos in the committee found our sister, Oduah guilty for doing no wrong? |
ogologodimkpa: Nwa Efulefu has spoken once againonwegi ka ina akpo Efulefu. The bible has spoken: Anybody who supports evil. Evil shall never depart from him. Go ahead! |
gennny: Am an Igbo man too, look!!! stop shielding evil. So if somebody contravenes the law, he/she should not be punished because he/she is from one part of the country. Are you so blind to check from the school website?Exactly what am telling our Igbo brothers and sisters. Stop supporting evil so that evil will depart from us. That Oduah is our sister is not an excuse to support her stealing and cheating (if true). |
I wonder why people cannot actually comment on the subject of discussion instead of bringing up sentiments and ethnic bias into everything. Before I am accused of coming from the North or West of Nigeria, let me say that I am a core and proud Igbo man but a very objective one. I cannot support evil no matter who committed it. The same way I am going to view a Yoruba man who committed an atrocity is the same I am going to treat an Igbo person who did same. We behave as if we chose which tribe we are going to belong before our sojourn here on earth. I am ashamed the way so many of my Igbo kins defend evil just because the person involved happened to be our sister. When did we degenerate to this level? Its so pathetic and devoid of any natural reasoning. All this ethnic sentiments cannot get us anywhere as a country. Secondly, I don't know when Igbos have become Jonathan's kinsmen. I live in Port Harcourt and have been here for the past 10 yrs. An average Ikwerre man do not even share any affinity with an Igbo man not to talk of the man from far away Otuoke. I see all of that as a political gimmick. Its a pity that my Igbo kins are associating themselves with this corrupt administration. I hope they do not regret it in the future. Back to Oduah. For those who think that Oduah is being protected because she's Igbo, they should better think again. Oduah is protected simply because she's a major political benefactor of GEJ. She contributed a lot financially to elect GEJ in 2011. Its simply pay back time. Jonathan will do same even if Oduah is from the bottom of the red sea. If you disagree, then tell me what happened btw Jonathan and former minister of power, Prof. Barth Nnaji. Now that tells u the character and body language of Mr. President. |
Breaking News: report has it that ahoada main mkt in rivers state is on fire just less than 24 hrs after the mile 1 mkt fire incident. |
See useless man. Ofcourse you won't have any job if Jonathan refuse to seek re-election. |
Elueme: ...Amaechi has consistently denied this allegation but even at that; is it a crime now to have ambition? We should please stop being petty. Any man has a right to aspire to any political office in the land irrespective of whether the incumbent is his twin brother. Enuff of dis our brother mentality. It doesn't put garri on my table to know dat a fellow southerner is d president. |
phransix147: I don't know why I easily like anybody fighting for Freedom and fighting against Oppression. Amaechi you are a man, u don't have to lick anybody's balls to survive!I have a brother in you. Chop knuckle Bros! |
Mazi_Omenuko: We've been hearing this stale news of 'political mistake' over a year now! What exactly do you think the presidency will do to Amaechi that will hurt his political career?I wonder o. What really is the problem with people. You are tired of the marriage btw U and Ur wife. You divorced her and when she marries another man, you started shouting she has made a mistake. Wetin be una own na? Abegi, make una free Amaechi. As far as am concerned, he has done well for his people. I have bn in PHC frm the time of Odili till now. You can't compare d two administrations at all. Amaechi is way ahead. |
So because fg released the statement we automatically believe it to be true. Not just Amaechi, most govs have in recent times queried the state of our economy and accrued revenue. We need to ask some questions: 1. Why is there a shortfall when oil revenue has not gone below the budgeted benchmark? 2. Are the states aware that the amount being disbursed is from the ECA? |
Oga spyder, What is d cost of dis building? |
Spectacular! |
Principal P**is Officer. Lol! This govs dey enjoy oo. |
wirinet: I get angry when i read the views of igbo bigots, their thinking faculty is lower than that of a monkey. Someone is accusing an igbo woman of corruption and gross vanity, and instead of demanding for a full investigation of the allegations, they are playing the ethnic card by claiming that she is being persecuted because of her tribe and because of internationalization of Enugu airport and other stupid excuses.I really get angry when people generalize this way. The same way I see my kit and kins try to defend corruption in the name of ethnicity. I don't give a damn if Stella is my sister. If she's a thief then she should bear the consequences by being sacked and prosecuted. Instead of us to examine the allegations, we are throwing ethnic tantrums. Is this what Nigeria has degenerated into? If the youth of this country behaves this way, then we are stuck for good. All the politicians that have stolen and is still stealing what good have their actions done for their ethnic group? How many factories or industries have they built in their home states to employ the teeming unemployed youths? Ironically, the same youths are here, up in arms, in their defence. God help this country! |
He cannot give account of his stewardship or score any political point because he simply has none to score. All of una politricktians na same same. Gullible ones here are already jumping at a mere speech of a politician with nothing tangible after years at the helm of affairs. Smh, I think we deserve the kind of slowpokes we get as leaders. Go dust up other speeches from past leaders and see if there's anything new. |
Slowpoke! Ewu militant. |
Clueless - His answers on cost of government and corruption is most annoying. If corruption is not Nigeria's No. 1 problem, then what is? Every sector of the society is the way it is because of corruption. Lack of Infrastructure is because of corruption. Insecurity is because of corruption as money that would have been used to build industries and factories to provide employment for the teeming unemployed youths are squandered thereby leaving the youths to engage in all sorts of crime. If after all these years of being in government (from deputy gov in Bayelsa to president) the president cannot understand this simple linkage of corruption and underdevelopment of other critical sectors of the society, then there is a very big problem. |
This man is saying nothing. So, because he rang the closing bell at NYSE then our economy is buoyant. Is that a new parameter for measuring a nation's growth? |
Google has launched a new project tagged Constitute (https://www.constituteproject.org/#/) to help countries read and compare constitutions and help them to write, rewrite or review their constitution. You can browse countries and even search constitutions based on topics. For instance, you can search for a particular topic like Immunity and see the countries that have it in their constitution and be able to read it in full. I think this is a good one. |
Baba God! Please grant us this wish. Take this man safely back to Otuoke in 2015. IJN! |
Virgin Mary version 2.0 |
This guy is good. He either knows what he's doing or he has good advisers. He simply doesn't want to be taken unawares by any kangaroo impeachment which can happen and he will start running through the courts to infinity to reclaim his mandate. This is what his opponents wants to achieve. They want to pronounce him impeached. The police will be used to effect the removal and another person sworn in and then whether it was done legally or not can now be contested in court. But Amaechi is trying to prevent that from happening by going to court first to insist that the process must be followed. If the court grants his prayers then the opposition will fail to remove him unless they have the 2/3 majority and cannot even sit unless they have the 1/3 majority which is 11. The chief judge will also be bound to constitute a panel only if the impeachment follows the process according to section 188 of the constitution. |

amunites19: I have personal respect 4 GEJ cos I believe he is a good man as a person but why on earth will PEJ call non-river's people outsiders? I thought she is a mom 2 all nigerians.Exactly! First lady of Nigeria calling other Nigerians outsiders. Haba! Even if she harbors it in her heart, it should never have left her mouth. She's Nigeria's first lady for crying out loud and not Okrika or Ijaw first lady. |
EasternLeopard: @BIAFRANQUEEN Who told you that b4 she reprimanded Amaechi publicly, she did not begged him secretly and yet he went ahead to demolish those shanties without providing an alternative. If at all she begged and Amaechi refused. He has every right to so do. He is the chief executive of the state and knows his plans and vision for his people. She also has every right as a bonafide citizen of the state to challenge Amaechi in the court of law as so many other residents of other waterfronts did at the time and as Keke Napep did to stop Amaechi banning them till today. If she so much has the interest of her people at heart the money for that mansion she built will have given the waterfront the much needed facelift it needs but she only begged for the land where she built her mansion and never cared about her people. She was rude to Amaechi and she did it publicly. Let truth be told. |
Is that so? Ehen? So it started 4 yrs ago? When Madam you forcefully collected microphone from Amaechi's hand and reprimanded an elected governor in public. If Okrika was not your village will u do the same? Is Okrika waterfront the only one earmarked for demolition? As at the time, some other waterfronts in some parts of the state has already been demolished. Anybody who lived in PHC at the time knows too well that the waterfronts was a shelter for all manner of characters and criminals. Thank God you have said the truth. Its not that he wants to become the vice president to some northerner (which I really don't see what is wrong with such aspiration)but because he dares to trespass the enclave of her royal majesty. At least this confirms that you, Madam P is behind the crisis contrary to all the denials from the presidency. As you said Ma, someday you shall leave power and return. |
