Health / Re: Uniben Professor Discovers Cure For HIV/AIDS by wiseguy(m): 9:07pm On Jan 09, 2013
Some of us find it very difficult to read in-between the lines and rush off to comment. This professor did not categorically say that he has found a cure but a possible cure. We should consider the bolded words and statements below. I wish the Professor good luck in his endeavor and pray that our government supports him.

babyosisi: Benin – Prof. Isaiah Ibeh of the University of Benin, on Tuesday announced the development of a new drug that can possibly cure HIV and AIDS.

Ibeh, who is the Dean of the School of Basic Medical Sciences of the university, told reporters in Benin that the herbal drug had undergone “series of successful tests”.

He said “We are at the threshold of making history, in the sense that we seem to have with us something that will permanently take care of what over time seems to have defied all solutions. “We are talking about the latest discovery of an oral drug made from plants extraction in Nigeria for the possible cure of the pandemic, HIV and AIDS virus.’’

According to him, research on the project was started in 2010 and culminated in the development of “Deconcotion X (DX)–Liquid or Bioclean 11 for the cure of HIV and AIDS”. “The existing retroviral drugs are intervention drugs for the management of AIDS but our new discovery is a possible cure.

“We have tried to look at the product first; its toxicological analysis and discovered that it has a large safety margin. This means that if animals or human beings are exposed to it, they will not suffer any serious harm at all from the exposure.

“It also helped us to know the quantity we can conveniently give to animals and will feel secure that nothing untoward will happen. We have also done the bacteriological analysis on it, after which we looked at its effect on the virus and the result was quite revealing and refreshing.”

Ibeh also said that the drug had been exposed to series of medical examination both in Nigeria and in the USA. He added that the drug had performed well on patients with the HIV virus and had shown evidence of total restoration of damaged tissues.

“The result showed an increase in the body weight of the individual administered with DX. “The body weight was statistically significant when compared with the control group.”

He said that further tests were being conducted to determine “at what point will a patient become negative after being administered the drug?”.

“This verification is necessary because it is what is used to measure whether infection is still there or not. So we need to know the siro-convention time.

“But preliminary results showed that of the five latest patients orally administered with the drugs, our findings is that up to seven months , three of them were siro negative while two were sill faintly positive.’’

Ibeh appealed for support from the Federal Government and relevant bodies to assist the university with relevant equipment to sustain the research.(NAN)
Family / Re: Traditional, Church Or Registry: The Right Date For Marriage Anniversary? by wiseguy(m): 4:58pm On Jan 06, 2013
jamace: Thank you jare.

Because of civilization, some don't even consider the traditional marriage as marriage, colonial mentality go kill some people. The funny thing is that from my personal observation more of those who did traditional marriage remain married than those who did the church and registery. Marriage goes beyond flamboyance and razzmatazz; no wonder divorce is so rampant in our society today than before.

My elder brother just saw your post and got scared. He told me that majority of his friends who did church wedding are going through turbulent times. He's not having it easy himself.
@op, I will choose traditional marriage. All others are formality and mere follow follow.

So many people who comment here have not even bothered to read the interview and are already showing their bias and spewing rubbish. Whether you acknowledge it or not, it remains a fact that Buhari remains one of the upright leaders in this country.

Politics / Re: Bakare's 'Election Before 2015' Sermon Full Text by wiseguy(m): 9:56am On Jul 24, 2012
Very insightful. I want to seriously agree that those who criticize this message has not read it. It is either they read the newspaper captions or they listened to 'hear-says'. Most of us are blinded by ethnic and religious biases and our corrupt political leaders have effectively used it as a weapon to enrich themselves to the detriment of the masses. There's profound truth in this message and truth is like Gold. Whether it is held by a rich man or a beggar, it will
not cease to be Gold.
Education / Re: How Valuable Is Online Degree? by wiseguy(m): 9:58pm On May 26, 2012
Easy Says who? Online degree is the most difficult. More difficult than being on campus. You wont understand till you start one. Very stressful. Infact forget about all the Owambe's by the time you start and pray to Almighty to give you the courage and determination to finish + make good grades. If you say its easy then you don't know exactly what it is. I am saying from experience. And its fully recognized both at home and abroad.

Family / Re: Husband Sacked From Bank Job by wiseguy(m): 10:53pm On May 12, 2012
Well, just listen to the business idea am going to give you. Am really not interested in the way you treat him while he's still at home. But when you chase him out into the waiting hands of vultures outside, na you go carry the cross. Just extend this idea to him. Let him buy a brand new 14 seater bus. This will cost him about 2.8m including registration and comprehensive insurance. He should approach any established transporter or transport company and put the bus under their company. For instance, lets say, you guys are in PHC and he puts the bus under ABC transport or any other. The bus plies PHC to Enugu and back once daily. the transport fair from PHC to Enugu is about N1500 per person. Now, lets do the maths:

1500 x 14 = 21000 x 2 daily = 42000
42000 x 7 days in a week = 294,000 per week
294,000 x 4 weeks = 1,176,000 per month

just bring out half of this amount for all the expenses including drivers salary, the transport company settlement, maintenance, etc. I know the amount is too much but its better to be safe than sorry. Meanwhile, the bus is already insured against any accident or theft. So nothing to worry. Let me repeat please. The vehicle insurance is compulsory please. You must do it. In six months, you have your investment back and you can even buy another bus. But just start with one for now. Good luck to you and hubby.

I wonder why these people cannot allow we the masses be. Must they tell us about one useless project or another? Until i see any project of the Government in operation, i will never take or believe anything politicians say. I rather be proved wrong than have my hope shattered. Nigerian politicians are a rare breed i must say.

Elpieda:

I will reiterate what SIena mentioned. A BAD UNREPENTANT MOTHER DOES NOT DESERVE LOVE, SHe needs to prove herself worthy of that by being humble and not automatically expect the child to show unending love simply because she came out of her Vajina,

GBAM!
Family / Re: Not Every Mother Deserves Motherly Love. by wiseguy(m): 12:04am On Jun 21, 2011
Like someone said no human being deserves more love than another. Some people commenting here do not know how harsh it is to survive in such conditions. I had worse experience from my own mum. Of course, i forgave her but it wasn't easy at all even till this day when i remember all i went through i still feel a little hate for her but for the fact that i still call her and provide for her now that she's old i know that I've forgiven her. But honestly, what i went through in the hands of my own mother is something i would never wish my WORST ENEMY. Though i am grateful to God in a way because those experiences helped in making me who i am today. And now when i look at my two beautiful kids, only one prayer comes to my mind that God should keep me alive long enough to take good care of them and provide them all the love and care they need. So, i will not blame this lady. Some mothers are just not worthy to have the honor of being addressed as such.

Yes, the bible says we should honor our parents but parents should also be deserving of such honor. Sincerely, no child will honestly respect and honor a prostitute mother or a thieving father or a drunk one who comes home and pounces on their mother. it is not just possible IMHO.

Family / Re: Yoruba Tradition Is Killing My Love by wiseguy(m): 12:04pm On May 04, 2010
I will say it straight to you. if you want to marry, be prepared to marry with or without anybody's presence. one thing i can assure you is this when your family sees the will power in you, they will definitely come around and if they don't, all well and good. I have seen it in most cases and in my own case as well.
They will come back begging for peace. Relax, be strong and resolute. i will rather regret my own decision and live with it than to live with a decision that was forced on me.
