Visa approved this morning at ABJ, I can't thank God enough for his grace has found me, it doesn't matter what you fight for, fight to win, I went to the consulate with a CC I-20 and I was so confident of getting my visa considering I have said alot of prayers and told Jesus that my hands are ready to receive my passport with USA visa on it and so it goes... Visa approved today at the Lagos Consular office at window nine.It was a verbal war between myself and the oyinbo guy but at the end of d day,he issued me the visa cos he has no option. The booth nine guy is d only one attending to Non-immigrant applicants and he denied a lot of people but with the grace of God, I got my visa approved through him.

Thank u Kennyrony. Nobody told me a master's degree is one year but in Nigeria here I think the maximum semester is three. 30months written in my I-20 is two and a half years, thereby I'm not sure, that's why I asked the question

1. What is the scope of your course
2. What is the program length of your studies. But when I check my I-20, it was written 30months. Normally, a master's degree is one year course. What should be the response to these questions? I need your response from all angles because nobody can tell. Thanks.

I'm trying to get a roommate ahead.
Perhaps is there someone who's presently schooling there who can guide me concerning accommodation?

I have been on this thread for some months now and I have read from Part 7 to the current part 8 to prepare myself for my interview which took place yesterday. My interview was scheduled for 6:30 AM at US Embassy Lagos. I got to the embassy at 5:30 AM. This was my second interview, I was denied in August 2015 and I posted my transcript here after that interview. Everyones feedback and critique of my transcript were very helpful....To cut the long story short, here's how it went.
My turn came around 7:55 AM
VO: Looked me straight in the eye and said Good Morning, pass me your documents.
Me: I passed my documents with my Dubai visa inside my passport (I traveled to Dubai in early Oct, after my first denial)
VO: Why are you going to the US?
Me: I want to study in the US
VO: Why did you choose this school, Harold Washington College?
Me: Actually, I was given admission at Illinois Institute of Technology but the school fees is very expensive, so I decided to start at a community college that has a good transfer rate to a 4-year college. After my associate degree I will transfer to IIT to complete my Bachelor degree.
VO: How did you come across this college?
Me: Through IIT
VO: Which program are you going for?
Me: Electrical Engineering
VO: Tell me moew about it
Me: I explained myself
VO: Who is your sponsor?
Me: My mum and my aunt
VO: Does your aunt live in Chicago?
Me: Yes
VO: He started typing and typed for so long. Then he gave me a white paper that my visa is approved. I was sooo happy that tears started to run down my face (in front of the VO), then I started crying for real when I got out (tears of joy). To God be the Glory! I joined this thread less than 6 months ago but it has been very educational for me. Thanks.
My advice to those that are going for their interview, just be confident and don't lie. Tell the truth. On my last transcript, some people said I was denied because my sponsor was in the US and d same state as the school. BUT I was honest and consistent about it. I was also honest about why I chose to go to a community college.
It still feels like a dream and I keep checking the white paper every hour to make sure it didn't change to blue...lol. This is the beginning of my success. Thanks to everyone who have made meaningful contributions to this thread....

Good day house, can somebody direct me how I can register for GRE. I already created a GRE account, checked on the seat available and clicked on register. From here I can only see the test center and address with time selected. Nothing else, does it mean that there is another way to go or there is an error. Pls kindly put me thru. Thanks

It does not matter, as long as you have been issued an i-20, it means you have been accepted into the program. I got same i-20 ish, and was also granted visa. It is nothing bro...go and book your visa.

. Thanks my man. Although, Walspring has made some clarifications to me but still; the school is ETSU and my fear is about the embassy. I was thinking initially the VO might want to ask why program english proficiency is required; meanwhile I didn't do TOEFL. That has prompted me to ask the question if there is need for me to do TOEFL. Thanks
