it is so evident that most of us could not even remember the compound name of some household item. We easily go with the monopolized name (or should call it goodwill name)
1. SEASONING CUBE/ BOUILLON CUBE; did I hear someone says Maggi already? this still exist till date. You hear mum says Junior go buy maggi for me, and Junior will ask mum which type? is it knorr or maggi gangan?
pls there are more than hundred brands of seasoning out there, next time u need one just say the brand name.

Though there is a tight battle for supremacy here, you see a man of the 80's saying 'give me Maclean but its pepsodent that I want'
Likewise you see a kid of the late 90's saying I want to buy closeup even if he wants Colgate. But with the way things are going its just a matter of time before either pepsodent ,Colgate or Oral B takes over.

5. DIAPERS: When we need to get a diaper for our little ones, no other name comes to mine other that Pampers. Madam give me Pampers, Which one Oga?. More so If not for the help of the meticulous fire fighters, the building and those beside it will have been razed to arches.

The fire fighters did their work perfectly and they must be commended giving the equipment at their disposal. There were three Fire truck and one reloading water tank stationed. Most of the access route to the building were 100% Burglary which make it difficult for them to penetrate. .The fire would had been curtailed long before now if the security on duty at the Centage Plaza had allow them to break through the walls.

just got a new Bush TV and I found myself in d same situation as u. after scanning my TV shows 80 dtv channels though all are blank except starguide which is audible.
curious as u are I did a little googling about it and I found out that its all about digital broadcasting. I also found out that all tv manufacture d after 2007 has an inbuilt dtv receiver, meaning that you don't need a decoder to watch digital TV. sadly, our dear country is yet to make the much anticipated transition.
actually had Nigeria transited as earlier scheduled, u and I should have been enjoying those stations for free with better quality pictures than those we get on startimes, dstv or any pay TV u can think of because we will b getting d transmission directly from d station and not from d satellite.
