MrPOTUS:
Is it the citizens that will buy and install CCTV for the govt?

Incase you don't know, The president is the CSO of Nigeria, he controls the arm forces, the police etc.

If he had played his own part, no one will blame him.

But the man obviously doesn't care, all he's after is securing 2027 at the expense of anything. undecided
Why do you people read what is lucidly clear to then make illogical comments? My point is that what we have not done for decades has severely damaged and compromised our capacity to fight crime.

Did you know the number of Nigerian policemen we have is lower than the UN-recommended average globally?

UN is even talking based on the assumption Nigerian policemen are engaged in normal function because they don't know our reality whereby 4 policeman each is being attached to every legislator !!!!

Did Tinubu cause the problem and does Nigeria have the money to employ 310,000 more police officers as the UN recommended as optimal?

Furthermore, and just like the power sector with an archaic and moribund national grid due to under-investment over several decades, The Nigerian FG is now too broke to fund the required significant upgrade to our security architecture that will address the shortfall between what our security capacity is today and what it should be to even resemble best global standard.

Tactically and practically, every Nigerian State should have at least 5 to 10 Sikorsky CH-53K King Stallion rapid-response military helicopters capable of carrying 20 to over 30 fully equipped police officers or tactical personnel. They cost around $100 million dollars each.

Clearly we cannot afford that today because we did not diversify our economy adequately to make it capable of funding her major needs .

If we had done the right things over decades, and those helicopters were in place in every State and aided by CCTV tech with rapid response centre capacity for alerting well-trained tactical teams, then bandits, kidnappers and terrorist would be out of business because they would understand their trade is a sure death sentence.

How are these point not clear if not for your bias against Tinubu and your obsession with unreasonably blaming him for structural problems, that have accumulated over decades, and needs holistic, fundamentally reformative and restructuring solutions to resolve?

Are some of you blind to the fact that, since 1999, only Tinubu has shown the bravery to tackle our gravest problems with fundamental reforms all global analysts and national economist have cited for decades that Nigeria cannot avoid if she wishes to become a developed nation?

The man is seriously trying but the leadership misrule of over 50 years cannot magically be resolved by a President in 4 years however talented he is.

Lol. Hallmarks of someone obsessed with living in the past. Jonathan this, Jonathan that.

They played politics against Jonathan and got him out. Get over it !!!

They are doing same against PBAT but won't succeed. Why? Because only one is a meritoriously proper leader between Jonathan and PBAT by Nigerian standard and given the very severe challenges of our nation and the many serious monsters needing taming for Nigeria to make progress.

See the prophetic words of Frank Kokori, RIP, that have come to pass. Only Tinubu has made moves no other President dared. Not even two former military generals in OBJ and Buhari.

Tinubu has already defeated the Northern currency cabal who hijack our CBN, turn it into a joke and brokerage house for their black market scamming of Nigeria your beloved Atiku will probably reinstate God forbid he ever gets to the Presidency.

Use your own mouth and confess if GEJ moved against currency arbitrage damaging Nigeria seriously, but creating Northern billionaires daily, as Tinubu did to be one of the contributory factor for the Nigerian central bank being voted the best global central bank of the year 2026.

Quit playing around mentioning Jonathan. Nice and decent man but he was never the leader that can deal with the monsters determined to never allow Nigeria becomes developed. Tinubu is.

Exactly.

That is the hidden agenda many of them will not admit.

They want Tinubu out, not because they have a superior reform plan, but because they want Nigeria dragged back to the old comfort zone: fuel subsidy scams, multiple exchange rates, rent-seeking, round-tripping and economic deception.

Tinubu’s reforms are painful, no doubt. But the alternative some people are quietly selling is worse: return to sharing cheap dollars and subsidised fuel for the connected few while the country bleeds.

Nigeria cannot reform by going backward.
Precisely. It won't happen..Tinubu will continue. Reforms will bed in well to begin moving Nigeria towards developed nation status.

Nigerian soldiers are going through a lot...

Their top military brass are probably even more useless than politicians!
They are. Our entire armed forces are. We should fight for them more. Instead we attack them, never emphatise with them and expect them to be Rambo.

Motivation for work, especially critical for armed forces personnel who risk their lives daily, is very important.

Many nations of the world, bar Nigeria, understand that treating the men and women of their armed forces well is the way to keep them efficient, motivated, capable of rising above corruption and dedicated to operating with integrity and professionalism always.

Instead, in Nigeria, we make politicians very wealthy and over-privileged superstars and relegate virtually all others. Including men and women of the armed forces who may not return home from every shift they start.

We can all see the decrepit living conditions of our police officers below and Nigerians will be attacking them for being corrupt and unprofessional.

Meanwhile legislators all live in luxurious mansions in Asokoro, Maitama , have at least 4 vehicle convoy each and even have yearly allowance for newspapers.

PoliticsRe: For 1 Month 9 Soldiers We Were Given Only 5 Pieces Of Fish Etc by WizardOfNG:
This is why I always say Nigerians should key into commonsense to be empathetic with our armed forces personnel. Police, Army etc and unitedly demand they must be paid and rewarded far, far better

We treat them worse than street dogs, pay them pittance and expect Sherlock Holmes level of integrity and crime-fighting from them.

Yet an averagely intelligent adult Nigerian should know demotivation for service is normal when men and woman who risk their lives so we all sleep well at night, and go about our business in the day productively, are treated the worst, in comparison to their compatriots worldwide, while our senators are probably some of the best paid politicians in the entire world.

Below are images of American soldiers eating Steak and lobsters. Many will own homes as well, have solid pensions, likely two vehicles in their household and many renumeration that makes them able to focus on their job and give 💯%. Ditto for the UK and most developed nations.

This is particularly why I dislike Sowore immensely. He knows this reality, as someone who has lived in the USA, but he will be fighting Nigerian policemen on Airport road Ikeja and trying to portray them as corrupt, for optics to burnish his political career, when he should be the one fighting for an overhaul of pay and renumeration packages for men and women of our armed forces.

We are in trouble because institutional and deep reforms, in virtually every sector of socio-economic life, are what we need and most Nigerians don't understand this. No miracle we can do to suddenly undo the severe damage done over the past 50 to 60. Years.

Tinubu and his wife did far worse?, how?. The school kidnappings from Sokoto, Niger, Kaduna Kebbi, have they not all been released and returned to their parents under President Tinubu?. How many of kidnapped school children was GEJ and Buhari able to secure their release?.
As we speak, Tinubu has deployed full military rescue operations to Oyo state but to you, he is far worse?.
Are you aware that a LG in Niger state is bigger than the whole of Anambra state?. If you understood the complexities of the security situation in the country, you won't sit behind the keyboard typing this.
Giving a needles publicity to terrorists is absolutely senseless. About 12 Americans were shot by gunmen last weekend in Ohio during a community festival, how much publicity did their media give to it, how many of you are aware of it?.

-Kiss the truth!
God bless you. I don't get how these guys cannot understand how difficult Nigeria is to secure. Large swathes of rural Land, with adjoining forest bandits can disappear into, with no policing, no Biometric-enabled CCTV capacity, negligible rapid response law enforcement.

We are paying dearly today for what other nations did responsibly over time, i.e diligently upscale and improve their capacity to fight crime, we indolently neglected over decades.

That is not on PBAT. I don't like that Nigerian adults lack in terms of being able to think critically and logically because this is preventing the delivery of obvious solutions for our nation.

Check out what is shown below. For example biometric-enabled CCTV security camera are critical for detecting crime in real time with monitoring centre agents then able to despatch crime fighting officers, with superior transport options than criminals have to include helicopter with air to ground heat scanners wtc, to quickly reach crime spot and engage/neutralise murderous criminals.

If we had those capacity, bandits and terrorists will think twice because they will be very afraid of the superior capacity of the Nigerian armed forces which is how it must be but unfortunately that is not the case with Nigeria.

Below it seems only Lagos is serious with plans for 2000 Smart camera installation which is paltry compared to China with 200 million and more CCTV installations. USA has 50 million.

The UK with around a quarter of the population of Nigeria has 6 million. These dire realities should tell a reasonable adult how much we have screwed ourselves yet Nigerians are expecting miracles from one man.

When Tinubu said security is not the business of one man alone, I understood exactly what he meant unlike a lot of Nigerians who don't know how moribund our security capacity is.

Nigeria security architecture is archaic. I know this as a citizen of the world. This is why , as a Yoruba man, I cannot wait for State/regional policing because I know Yoruba leaders, while corrupt as all others, are still decent and progressive enough to fund the emergence of a modern police force.

The sort that will make mincemeat of these rag heads running around troubling Nigerians merely because our security capacity is effectively in the 17th century and not better than when the British colonisers arrived over 100 years ago.

PoliticsRe: Tinubu Support Protesters Part Of Nigerian Problem? by WizardOfNG: 3:59pm On Jun 16
Tinubu supporters see the bigger picture better than all else.

Atiku fans mainly want power to return to the North so the central wealth of our nation can be commandeered to fund the welfarist, indolent and communist-style lifestyle the North has been addicted to from independence.

Meanwhile Obi fans simply want Igbo Presidency. Truth is that, for the damage Nigeria has suffered for decades and the required policies and reforms successive leaders have failed to implement over 50 years now, there is no way Nigeria can get better without all of us sacrificing and enduring with essential reforms which will come with pain initially but is crucial for Nigeria to embark on the path to becoming a developed nation.

There is the Nigerian saying "follow those wey know road". When nations that are developed and first world meaning they fully understand the path to optimal national development, crowned Nigeria world central bank of the year 2026, because of the reforms of Cardoso, what should that tell a critically intelligent person?

I.e we are attaining the fiscal discipline and productivity that will make Nigeria more socio-economically efficient enrout to becoming like the developed nations of the West.

The lady below is saying how, because of the reforms of Tinubu, Nigeria is on the lips of investors, Presidents and leaders across the world.. Is it not obvious the Governments, according to the most talented economists and technocrats in the Universe, is heading on the right direction?

Yes things are tough but it cannot be any other way because of misrule of 50 years, now needing pivotal and drastic reform to prevent Nigeria collapsing totally, Tinubu is bravely and resolutely implementing.

Fuel subsidy, a glorified scam bankrupting Nigeria. Subsidy of the Naira self-sabotage only favouring the Northern Bureau De Change system through currency arbitrage.

PBAT first President to address the issue of Nigerian home ownership through long term mortgage scheme, 20 years, with single digit interest i.e 9.75%.

NELFUND is one of the most brilliant scheme any President can conceive because it means our most brilliant young people won't be denied the chance of gaining higher education because of lack of funds. They gain higher education they will use to make Nigeria better. As simple as that.

Critical infrastructure, across Nigeria, at a pace never seen before.

Etc, etc and I could go on all day. The problem is that most Nigerians adults don't have the requisite interest, or perhaps even intelligence Quotient as Moniepoint boss insisted, in learning the nature of our biggest problems to then note the solutions required for them.

Also, the North will not vote for him because , as a serial liar, no one believes his "I will only do four years" pledge.

Allow Tinubu to keep pushing his luck. They have engaged the services of multiple polling firms and analysts that keep telling them that Tinubu has no pathway to re-election. Hence, the desperation you see. In law, this is called fait accompli.

Not only does the ADC have elective positions, the ruling was given in defiance of a court of appeal judgement that had ordered the matter to not be heard until November. Tinubu and Wike are in panic mode and this judgement was meant to erase news of Amaechi's selection as Atiku’s Vice. Just as the Nafiu Bala fiasco by INEC was done on the day Kwankwaso joined the ADC. "The guy is gone!"

Nonetheless, we have to be careful to not allow opportunists cashtivists like VDM snowball Nigeria into Rwanda-style internecine strife.

We saw how, during the August protest last year, political opportunists looking to discredit the Tinubu Government, to boost their political profile, were paying children in the North 500 Naira to loot, riot and burn. When they then wanted to arraign those children in juvenile Court, everyone was shouting Tinubu.
