DomPerignon:Yeah, I know he is Igbo. I just had to explain to him that his empty noise is misplaced. SS oil and gas wealth should primarily benefit the region the most and then be a secondary asset to Nigeria because we have enough endowment, human and material, to not be depending on ND oil and gas alone for a nation of over 230 million people. It is wrong how the entire Nigeria is feeding from the crude oil endowment of the SS while pollution and environmental degradation is all that many communities have to show for their endowment sustaining Nigeria. Ken Saro Wiwa was advocating about this very fact. The 'tool' Obi, trying to be President today, was in bed with Abacha who executed Ken Saro Wiwa. Nigerians overate themselves stupendously. Look at how much endowment we have yet everyone is focused on oil and gas. We must invest heavily, perhaps even the highest percentage by far ever, in upgrading our human resources. It will produce massive returns because Nigerian human resources currently is too poor. |
esnbrutality:I keep advising you to develop your critical thinking yet you never listen. Oil and gas must be utilised well but human resources, that can create solutions, defines life. Anyone still unintelligently shouting oil and gas is simply at a rudimentary level of understanding what life is about. I have always supported Niger Delta, feeding our nation, to get more from their oil and gas because I know the rest of Nigeria must regain the discipline and focus that made our definitive political leaders of old achieve so much before oil and gas wealth arrived. With Cocoa wealth, Awolowo did so much to the extent modern day politicians should hang their head in shame. Oil and gas wealth has been a curse to us and it is only your sort who do not understand that. We must try and return to a time Nigerians tried to be innovative and create solutions from what everyone has instead of the entire nation focusing on oil and gas wealth alone. We created a mono-economy around crude oil. That's the main reason Nigeria is messed up today. You all claim to have uni degrees and even Masters. How difficult is it for you all to understand we need to create a brain economy instead of you all focusing on and bragging about mineral endowment alone? The quality and solutions-provision capacity of human resources is what matters most per the capacity of a nation to become rich and developed.
|
esnbrutality:You need to work on becoming better at critical thinking. |
DomPerignon:Some great points. All developed nations have energy transition plans some felt they could reach by 2030 in their search for less reliance on fossil fuel. Including the UK I've lived most of my life in. Yet, they have had to push dates forwards decades towards 2050 because the world is economically depressed and has not recovered from the devastation of COVID. This is a reality leaders are not confessing to. They all con their people to win election but folks who dig beyond the surface know the world is in trouble. I personally don't believe total phase out of fossil fuel, for green energy, can be achieved in less than 35 to 40 years from now. In fact, I believe Nigeria will become significantly more important to the world because of our oil and gas endowment if we can be disciplined and focused securing best deals from a world becoming more protectionist and adversarial. Meaning oil and gas are becoming practically the most important commodities. Even Trump's recent hijack of Maduro and Venezuela confirms that. The US-Iran war demonstrated the fragility of the world's non-petrol energy insecurity. |
thesicilian:They are terrible. Always seditious, emptily rebellious, bigoted and prejudiced. Only their own is the messiah. |
jahsharon:💯% correct. This is why Nigerians must support and endure with Tinubu. He is the only one who can do the bolded. We must not elect Atiku, because he will kowtow to what safeguards the interest of the North which is always the opposite of what is best for Nigeria. Critical thinking Nigerians will know Obi is not an option because he would be the most cowardly and most impotent man to ever be President. Anyone who truly understands Nigeria will know what Tinubu has achieved so far is because he built many powerful and silent loyalists home and abroad that allows him implement reforms Nigeria truly need. Even in the military, Tinubu has many who fear and respect him. Obi is totally empty in that capacity and will be a lame duck President from day one. For example, Obi will never be able to bully through tax reforms as Tinubu did given the opposition from the North. It was Northern legislators, many that Tinubu has had positive impact on their career, who helped to carry the day for Tinubu. Obi has none. Zero. No mentees and no loyal foot soldiers. Nigerians are not a people who think critically. This is why some can be shouting Obi. Our Nation is not like the USA where there is institutional integrity and the power is in the office of the Presidency. In Nigeria the power is in the individual who is President. Obi is worthless in that regard. He is someone no one respects and very few will obey let alone bow for as is needed for a President to lead well in a nation full of some of the most difficult people in the world. A Nigerian President must be a strong, authoritative and well-supported man who can tame monsters because, unluckily, we have far too many in comparison to other nations of the world. Obi is never that leader. He never was and never will be. |
@OP. 💯% correct. Yoruba Governors already bravely and unitedly agitated for this in 2021. The problem is that Nigerians are not serious people . If we want the best life we can live, only a month of downing tools and going on strike demanding regional government, then Government will oblige. Government is never greater than the people if a people recognise their own power and are ambitious enough to be ready to sacrifice for what they want. Nigerians should have come out massively to back the agitations of the guys below in 2021 but they are too divided, too unserious, too unfocused and lazy to do what must be done when it must be done. https://punchng.com/swest-govs-propose-six-regions-demand-lg-autonomy-resource-control/

LordIsaac:Indeed. Obi is a disgrace. Fulanis are "stereotyped" now because he wants Northern votes whereas the reality is that Nigeria must take them to task and ask them to shape up or ship out !!! Nigeria should not be indulging Fulanis let alone allow them to pretend to be victims as Gumi etal always cites. Their leaders, like Atiku, failed them not Nigeria.
|
FSBoperator:Precisely. Obi is so dull. He believes he can deceive with words and platitudes. Northern leaders failed their own people by refusing to develop them adequately. The script today is to use terror and deaths to claim what they believe will advance them above others. Especially Southerners they know have left them far behind. From clerics to politicians and cultural leaders, it is all about blaming the South. This is why the North is full of a leadership system that talks and act as if the South somehow bamboozled and conned them. They show no factual recognition at all for the fact that Northern leaders failed Northerners for decades and continue to fail them today. Sh My family escaped generational poverty, before I was born, because of Awolowo's (RIP Sir) free education. Should Northern leaders not focus on trying to upgrade and liberate their human resources instead of deliberately oppressing and depressing them so a very small elite class can live in stupendous opulence? The core North is the main area of Nigeria where a compound full of Ferraris and Lamborghinis can be surrounding by absolute squalor, diseases and deprivation. Honestly, aside for pride in myself and my lineage, I am ashamed of how black Africans, especially of the West African and sub-saharan subset, underwhelm massively. |
Ibrahimcoomasie:This is all Obi knows to do as a cowardly opportunist. I.e try and use deceit in the hope he will profit. What exactly is he talking about claiming Fulanis are discriminated against? Aren't they killing innocent Nigerians and threatening to destroy Nigeria with their expansionist and jihadists terror? |
fasho01:Lol. Gumi will not be happy with this guy advocating the harshest punishment against his beloved bandits. Gumi should be rebuked everywhere he goes. See the article below where he dares to warn the Nigerian military not to provide bandit who, ordinarily, would be unalived on sight in any serious nation of the world. We southerners are the problem because we indulge the excesses and backwardness of Northerners rather than make them conform to progressive ideals. https://saharareporters.com/2025/09/15/controversial-islamic-cleric-gumi-warns-nigerian-army-other-security-operatives-against
|
Counterigbolies:They are so delusional. Obi will be disgraced in 2027. The 2027 election is not even about him or his inconsequential Obidients. |
HacheNoire:Indeed. The uncomfortable truth many don't want to accept is that Tinubu is not GEJ and Oyo kidnapping cannot be turned into the Chibok girls propaganda because Yorubas knows their premium worth to Nigeria meaning PBAT cannot be bullied out of office with sponsored terror. Right now, it is mainly only SW and SS giving Nigeria life. Cold and brutal truth. Those two regions are in a position of strength. The world cried for the Chibok girls. Michelle Obama made it a personal mission Now, the world is not saying anything about Oyo because it has become clear Born-to-rule Northerners are behind cynical sponsorship of terrorism. They can do their worst. They won't win. It is Tinubu till 2031 and Nigeria will rise by grace of God. |
zoedew:Exactly. Buhari deceived many who believed he could be a great President by unravelling as an ethnocentric character who surrounded himself with a Fulani cabal he ruled through and allowed to do as they pleased. |
@OP. Lol..Obi is.not even in the reckoning for 2027. He is done in Nigerian Politics. |
georgeakins:Don't mind him. This is revelation the problem of Nigeria begins and ends with ordinary Nigerians. Has Wike ever failed his constituency as a leader? No. Never. Nigerians are their own biggest enemies. We need so many solutions yet we find reasons for attacking and disliking the few leaders producing quality solutions like Wike to then be praise-singing failures like Atiku, Obi, Malami etal |
Bluntemperor:Completely agree. Has Wike ever failed the test of delivering as a leader? No. Those who attack Wike are indeed terrible people. |
helinues:Yes OO. Their region is abandoned and avoided by all Nigerians and a last resort for only our agbo sellers and tailors as even they confess. Meanwhile the SW giving Nigeria semblance of serious and progressive nationhood, alongside the SS, they will be predicting doom and gloom for daily. Travel advisory info of most Western nations, for their citizens, insist on avoidance of virtually all SE State. That reality is not enough to make them focus on how much work they have to do to rehabilitate themselves and their region. It is the SW they obsess about malevolently daily. |
helinues:Lol. I am an Arsenal fan. True talk. Even Chelsea jubilated they lost to City because they believed that loss meant we would not be champions. Now they do not have champions league football. Helinues, Alabosi ni awon people yen. This is a time all Nigerians should mind their own business yet it is Yoruba land they talk about as if they have ever cared for us.
|
Ibrahimcoomasie:That's because they have been indoctrinated from birth to wish the worst for Yorubas and the SW. They are the ones commenting negatively the most about this and that will happen to the SW. Sad and pathetic. |
tishbite41:Absolutely. The only thing Fulanis owe Nigeria is real focus on tackling the aberrant ones amongst them so they end the insecurity they are causing across Nigeria. |
Ewedegubbler:Lol. Their father only torments those who deserve it. Like Atiku. Wike's kids will be good leaders if they are like their dad. |
LordBiden:Precisely. Wike does not cap and has no time for politically correct talk. This is why many hate him. In every role as a political leader, i.e Governor and FCT Minister, can anyone say Wike has not delivered? |
Bluntemperor:Indeed. I love Wike die.I am big on leaders who manage to deliver solutions because we need of lot of solutions yet we do not have enough leaders delivering as much solutions as needed for Nigeria to become a developed nation. I always watch Wike's engagement with journalists on NTA. Many are like Q&A session where Journos grill Wike. Anyone who has seen even one of it will know that Wike is a performer dedicated to delivering solutions. Charismatic dude. Even the journalists are laughing with him by the end of the session. A real leader who understands Nigeria and knows what he is doing. |
People can say what they want about Wike but leaders must be judged on their capacity to deliver solutions. Good Governor and now arguably best FCT Minister ever. I personally rate Wike highly. |
SixSeven:Yeah I will. Go to church and pray. |
Kushites:Well-said. The most vocal critics of PBAT are just ethno-religious bigots because the facts , beyond doubt, show he is a transformative President. |
BlackMenDumb:Okay. Let us see how this guy will succeed "forcing" Sharia on the SW. |
2mch:Lol. Me, an associate of Gumi? The Point I am making is that the SW cannot be overwhelmed. Recognise the reality. I.e Nigeria is now very difficult to secure because of how we failed to upscale policing capacity to keep up with best global standards over decades. Still, you are hyping a glorified clown. The FG cannot be telling Nigerian everything they are doing regarding.security threats. Did Buhari and Malami inform Nigerians of their plot to entrap and repatriate Kanu to Nigeria? |
