grin cheesy

op. most iboes here on nairaland are funnier than mr.. IBU.
they already called China & SA a no mans land because they developed it by trafficking drugs there.
let's see the next no mans land USA? Russia?
your guess is as good as mine.
but the amazing part is that those no mans land sh.ts exists on nairaland, the same way biafra exist. they dare not rey it in reality. grin

I forgot to add that!
Osun is suppose to be a wealthy state, but ironically.
that state is too blessed & green to it to be hungry.
even in aspect of tourism, the state isn't exploring that aspect.
imagine a state with gold as & other resources, still waiting on FG to spoonfeed them.
All the SW governors should start thinking outside the box, the culture of waiting for FG every 30 days is irritating.

But I don't see that ending soon, without regional autonomy
We are not moving forward, let's be blunt with ourselves, we are just stagnant (if not backward).

Can you produce something out of NOTHING huh
What have we invested in the education of ALL our children in yorubaland since UPN governors were kicked out in Dec. 1983?
What have we invested?

Which investor will set up in a place with inappropriately skilled labour and insufficient pool of workers?
The investor na fool?

Even those who are building mansions like Linda Ikeji with her N850 million banana Island villa are not TAXED adequately.

E ko sa igi l'ogbe, e ko ta oguro l'ofa, e gbe enu si idi ope, se ofe lo n ro - you make NO effort to tap the wine from the palm tree yet you open your mouth waiting for palm wine to flow freely inside.
Who does that except a fool huh
What's your point?
That Yoruba youths are unemployable or what?
the problem isn't only in SW/Yoruba land, its a Nigeria problem. I can boldly say it that we are still the best despite the decay in our education sector. cool

superduperjay i said it an earlier comment that until Ekiti people vote out fayose, then the future of the state is gloomy. The gorimakpa is busy eating amala in public bukas and sharing semo vita
Fayose just de weak me everyday.
the state that fayemi was trying to turn into a developed & civilized state, more like Fayose is " pressing control z" on the legacies of fayemi. everyday is eating amala & climbing trees/trailers. mcheew.
the most annoying one is Osun state.
I still don't know what's holding that state down. (portraying itself like an average northern state).
Osun got what it takes to compete with the top 8 states. mineral resources, human and the environment is there.
the only drugs/ antidote for ekiti & osun state is to woo investors. they need industries/companies to curb unemployment and boost igr.
and they need to start exploring the resources in those states to boost there GDP. not waiting on FG allocation.
as for Oyo state, I don't know what's still obstructing the state not to generate at least 80-100b as revenue.

Ogun too can do better.

Op.
there's a difference BTW biggest economy & most developed, they are not the same.
no doubt SA is the most advanced country in Africa, but according to records from our govt. we have the biggest economy.
in terms of infrastructures, Nigeria is really lagging behind. even most Asian countries are now leaving the status. look at small Seoul for example, very organised clean and beautiful city. I will keep saying it, we have only two city in Nigeria. (Lagos & abuja) the rest are larger towns & villages.

Hahaha these measures are too obvious and they appear too direct.

-Building shopping malls accross the south-west is a better alternative

-Generally they thrive in lawless environments, they're like mexicans so state police is also a good option

-Like i said in my previous comment, all subjects in south-west schools should be taught in Yoruba language.Anyone who's not comfortable with that can go back to his/her cave

These are the subtle measures i can think of right now
grin. That would be kinda weird.
I am comfortable with the present situation ; where Yoruba is a compulsory subject in SW secondary schools.

Ogun Infrastructural Development is Rapid and Fantastic - US AMBASSADOR
alt
United States Ambassador to Nigeria, James Entwistle has described the infrastructural development under the Senator Ibikunle Amosun government in Ogun State as rapid and fantastic.

Entwistle, who said this during his official visit to Abeokuta, the state capital yesterday expressed satisfaction at the quality of infrastructures being put in place to transform the Gateway State.

He noted that the expertise used by Amosun in achieving so much in less than three years could be needed in helping the United States develop better.

“What I see is fantastic, rapid development in Abeokuta. The roads, the bridges, the flyovers are very, very impressive. I have just told the Governor that we need his expertise to come help develop us in the United States”, he said.

The ambassador further revealed that one of the US biggest companies, Procter and Gamble would open up a factory in Ogun State in about a month’s time and that, “a lot of our investments are in Ogun.”

He added that the United States had interest in Nigeria’s next general elections, stating that, “we want Nigeria to have a transparent, credible and non-violent elections.
P&G again in Ogun state?
they already have in Ibadan & Lagos already.
BTW
that Gov m Amosun is really trying, there's a lot of good roads & flyovers in the state now.
I wish the industries can spread to osun/ekiti.

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, on Friday announced that his administration had earmarked over N1bn for the renovation and supply of furniture and education materials across all secondary schools in the state. A statement from Ambode’s Chief Press Secretary, Habib Haruna, made available on Friday, said the governor disclosed the information while speaking at the inauguration of Augustine University, a private university owned by the Catholic Church. The statement said that the state government would also employ 1,300 teachers to teach in primary schools in the state. The governor also assured that his administration would resolve the lingering crisis in the Lagos State University, Ojo, according to the statement. He attributed the recent inauguration of new Governing Councils for the institution and other tertiary institutions in the state to the need to resolve the crisis in the school. Appreciating the Catholic Church for the project, Ambode described education as integral to bringing about positive change in the country. He said, “From my exposures, I have come to the conclusion that there is no greater form of preparation to manage change than through education. “There is no greater investment that the individual parent can make than investment in education of highest possible quality.” The governor described the inauguration of the Catholic university as important for Lagos State, which he said was in dire need of additional institutions of learning, considering its large population with 60 percent of its residents below 35 years of age.

Beautiful! Another reason might be because Ekiti is very small.A friend of mine who lives in Akure once told me Ekiti is the most beautiful state in Nigeria and has the best road networks but I have only been there once and I was ignorant then so I never cared
Personally, I think the state with the best road network in SW is Osun. the kinda road network in osun is just like what is seen in European countries, but the infrastructures & social amenities is what isn't there. even the Federal road is not really bad.
