Use the 'contact us' form to send them a mail or call their number. Those guys are over worked so they take more time than advised on their site. Some people wait for two weeks and above but as for me I don't have that much time on my hands. Whenever I do this it triggers progress

Good evening guys, it's a week today wes received verification mail from my school and hubby. Hubby status changed two days later with the expected date of completion. But mine is still showing in progress and docs have been received. Should I be worried

God bless everyone for the amazing job done here. Nairaland has always been a strong support on so many levels so I knew this was the right place to be immediately we made up our minds. I can't help but notice seniors, classmates and juniors from the missionary journey thread, lol. I hail una kiss

If you are new here just do yourself a great favour and read up. Page zero is the real deal and it's updated frequently (I think I noticed this) kudos to GS. Another expo is to click on an elders moniker and read up. Reading GS's post is like a thread on its own trust me.

Some babies stay till 42 weeks, especially first babies. 38 weeks birth is pushing your luck. She can apply for an extension. It will take as long as 6 mths to 1 year but she has to apply 45 days before her stay expires. She would have had her baby and zapped before she gets a response. But she has to face the hurdle of discussing why she applied for an extension during her renewal interview

I think she should apply for extension too and work towards not staying to even use the extension (only God knows). So she should do Her shopping now or online, find out all she needs for baby's papers and apply immediately she gives birth, start making calls concerning baby's tickets so she can port back home fast!
It's very 'doable' but for the sake of caution applying for extension is not a bad idea
Between, which doctor would certify her fit to fly back sef?
E-hugs to her, let her not even get angry over telling the truth, it pays, finally.....

For those looking for PTA, contact your BDC customer. Some of them are now give PTA. Most probably not at CBN rate but better than black market. Just like what travelex is doing. Someone should give it a shot and let us know

Please for those that has used birth centre (midwifery ), how long did it take to get birth certificate. ... is it the same with hospital?

I guess it all depends on the state where the birth centre is located. Just make sure you tell them to request for it ASAP. So I guess it's the same with hospital or not too different

Please does anyone know if the consent form has to be notorised in the U.S. Embassy in Nigeria or can any lawyer do it? I need to be sure. Thanks

If your are referring to the consent form for baby's passport you need to consider the state/agency because based on people's experiences some states only accept the one notorised at the embassy

Hello House, my wife is bound to travel next month. But there is a problem... Her initial destination was supposed to be Houston but now she feels staying in Maryland would be better as she has a friend that would host her. All her documents bear Houston... I'm just wondering if there is any risk to this!!! Please, your candid opinions will be highly appreciated...

I don't really understand your post especially about the routing. However as much as I agree that changing destination is not really a problem I feel you should be prepared incase questions arise in that regard. I remember phema had to even write the embassy that she was changing destination, some feel it's over-do but I felt that was ok (I am not saying you must do this, just citing an example)
From my personal experience when I traveled in November for vacation my plan when I applied for the visa was atlanta but my friends invited me to Texas. My flight was to atlanta then Houston, at POE atlanta I was taken for secondary inspection and questioned, the officer said they get suspicious when people change destination within short period of time. He eventually said he'll give me benefit of doubt and stamped me in for 2weeks.
Sorry the post is long but my advise is for her to prepare her answer in case the question as to why she changed destination comes up

Hi woaini.
Congrats on your successful missionary journey.
Trust u n ur LO doing gr8.
Pls u mentioned in ur post u were processing Nigerian passport n eventually used an agent.
Was the agent for d passport or visa as my poeps r coming to dallas n would appreciate a smooth documentation process as well.
Thanks n best regards

Sorry I meant Nigerian visa. I used an agent for the Nigerian visa

I got baby's birthcert 48hours after birth I called the county went there and got it for 23dols each. The SSN card came in the mail in less than 2weeks. I booked an appointment at the dallas passport office went there waited and got the passport same day. They accepted the consent letter I notorised before I traveled
For the Nigerian passport I was trying to do it myself but when I realized I was running out of time I contacted one of the agents mentioned here. By God's grace I was able to get all the documents and left exactly 3weeks after birth.
My hosts were even surprised at how I knew what to do at different points in time they don't know I used the nairaland/tvegas magic, lol
Thanks y'all. I am addicted to the thread so I dey ground

To God be the glory, I have gone, conquered and brought back the price.
I returned with my angel on Wednesday the flight was very smooth and the baby carrier was very useful but not on the flight though because I had to be taking it off to feed till I got tired and just carried her on my lap.
For the second leg of the trip I got a bassinet and I found it useful although my baby did not spend much time in it but the times she did I was very relieved.

How many times I go tell una. Click on my posts for acrobatic way of getting infant tix as return for less. grin

I remember your acrobatic way o jare. That's what I finally did, it wasn't so different but it saved extra cost that would have come from exchange rate using my card and perhaps tax. The Nigerian office quoted 76k

It depends on your travel date and class of ticket you have. I don't know that there's a trick to it. They calculate a percentage (10% I think) of the cost of a return ticket for the adult.
If your baby doesn't have a naija passport, you have to book a return ticket. They won't let you buy a one way ticket with a naija tourist visa in the US passport. When you get to naija, you can process a refund for the return leg.

Thanks shelly you have been so helpful. I did not even ask about the passport. They just said if I want return then an adult has to also make the trip. I am just confused. The return ticket is like 118 dollars but it must be tied to an adult ticket. Did you book return for just your infant? I will call them back concerning the passport atleast to avoid any drama on the day of travel
I got my ticket through an agent but they told me from beginning that they don't handle inclusion of infant ticket that I have to call the airline for that when I am ready and I don't really know the class of ticket I've got
Travel / Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by woaini(f): 7:36pm On Jun 16, 2015
Please for those that got their infant ticket how did you manage it? I just called the airline and they gave me a quote of almost 370usd.
Some have said they booked return ticket instead for the baby, pls how did you do this because though i got a cheaper quote I was told a baby can't have a ticket alone, an infant ticket must be attached to an adult's. So how was this managed
Help pls

Morning my people.

Pls I contacted ob/gyn office and was ask to fax my antinantal report to them, ask for e-mail, they told me they don't do e-mail, they do fax.

My question now is, where on earth can I see where to fax in Abuja.

Pls someome help me. Thks

Another thing you could do is if you have someone in the US scan and send via email to the person and the person could fax to the ob/gyn.
This idea just popped into my head. Could work

You need a copy of the BC, not original. There's no expedited service, just send it with a priority express envelope which is more or less overnight (I guess that's the expedited service you're referring to).

You have to send your money order to innovate services first and they'll send you a confirmation email. Print the email (that's your proof of payment) and include with all the other documents then send to the Nigerian embassy. Just make sure you include a priority express envelope with the documents so they can send it back to you overnight.
Hope I haven't confused you sha.

Thanks o jare. The whole process has been giving me headache and I have just a week to get that visa. I have finished filling the online form o but all the mailing-back-and-forth and no time I just decided to call an agent. That way by God's grace I will get the visa sometime next week. It's better I avoid stories and not feel penny wise pound foolish at the end of the day

Original.

@bbaby84 pls I need your help and all those that applied for the visa themselves (eg @shelly23). I can see that the visa fee after filling the application comes to 180dollars. Please does this include the amount for the expedited service? If not how much is it in total for the expedited service? I intend to get the money order and I don't to act in error, I am really pressed for time
Will the birthcertificate be returned to me by mail? Or what?
I need help pls my people

You only need to sign one letter. Both parents sign the letter.

@ shelly23 said she used two letters, one from her and one from her husband. So it could mean either way is ok, right?
If it's going to be one letter signed by both parents how would the format be? And some of us are not here with our spouse so what do we do? For me I already have pre signed papers by my husband all I have to do is write the letter and that would be easier for me if it's written individually
