KayLayChi: Check @ shelly23 post on page 138 she already gave some kind of format which I intend to follow. I am yet to apply for the visa but I took out time to check out the process on their website. I believe you write the letters individually as opposed to signing one letter. I stand to be corrected though by those that already got their baby's visa |

hadetola: This is not a form but a letter both parents have to write and send to the Nigerian embassy in addition to other documents to secure a visa for their child. Even if you are using an agent to get the visa you still have to write the letter, both parents. And no, it is not going to be notorised 1 Like 1 Share |

shelly23: Hi @ Shelly23 I intend to apply for the naija visa myself. 2 quick questions please 1. Did you use your Nigerian card to make visa fees payment, or did u use a us card if you have one or was it money order option you used? 2. I saw that both parents consent is required in writing, please what's the content of this letter (I mean a summary or format)? |
please go through use this link. Thanks. This is so helpful. Now like I mentioned my only worry is if they would take the consent form I have which was notorised before I left home. If I was close to houston I won't be this concerned cos I know they accept from any notary public (if I am not mistaken) but dallas is more ideal for me |

Phema: Thanks! Now I pray it would be accepted in dallas passport office. I just hope they won't insist on the one notorised at the embassy. I need to get back home ASAP |
Congratulations!![/quote Thank you I sent you a pm. I could as well ask the question here. So I have the consent form already notorised, there is a portion that talks about expiration or sometin like that, the Lawyer left it blank even my hubby went there twice. So is it ok like that? Was anything written on the one you used? |

To God's glory alone, I gave birth to my little princess on the 31st may. Everything went so well I am just grateful to God and I appreciate all the contributions on this thread. I am right now at the last phase of this journey, birthcert is out and I am working on other documents. May God see us through in this huge project, amen 19 Likes |

nneka3000: It really depends on you. You have to factor in the length of time you wish to spend in the US, your EDD, the approximate time it will take to get your baby's documents in the state/location your are going to, the time you have off work (if you are working) and the possibility of getting your leave extended and so on. Its really a gamble cos at the end of the day you never can tell. But it's best u make the considerations and keep your mind open to changing your return date. Hope this helps 2 Likes |

Personal travel allowance. U get that from a. Bank. It's usually within CBN rate. Even when dollar rose to above 225 PTA was btw 197-200. The challenge is that as an individual account holder u can only get 4k while a corporate account holder gets 5k. Not all banks give this service though so find out from yours or open an account with the ones that do. |

5k dollars. I summed up the coins in my purse to 2dollars (I don't know how to add up those coins). I got PTA that's d best option now. I missed the easter low sales of dollars. Thanks @ newmum |

Next to the guy that takes the landing card. That one come carry my matter for him head He asked what I had, I told him all I had but carefully did not mention palm oil (I had just a little incase they threw it away and I froze It o but d tin had completely melted self) Then he goes, so why are you here, I told him and he says "so do you have 10k dollars cos I know for a fact that child birth is not less than 10k". I smiled and told him there is discount for self pay patients. He asks me to prove it so I handed the same burden of proof. He read it and kept shaking his head like I invented the letter. Then asks do u have cash to pay, show me. I brought out the cash he doesn't touch it nor counts I added I have my cards Then he makes his concluding statement, you just want to get medical aid for your child, that's y you are here. I asked aid? Insurance? He nodded I just smiled and told him I do not intend to. He was not convinced but had nothing on me, so he sent me off, all this lasted like 5minutes. My bags were not checked. I just walked with a spring of joy in every stride Dallas poe is ok for me too, the second guy was just over-sabi lol. I omitted some of d conversation, d post is long and I don tire Jesus at work! 11 Likes |

So the eagle has landed. Got to dallas today with lufthansa. The flight was really good the service was top notch with lots to eat and drink. The flight from abuja was kinda empty though (I wonder why). Straight to the matter. As we landed in dallas I said a word of prayer stepped out and continued to call on God. I walked I did not feel I needed a wheelchair having sat on a plane for so long. It got to my turn and my conversation with d cbp guy went thus Him: hi Me: hello Him: so where to and what brings you Me:told him, to spend my maternity leave and give birth Him: when last where you here, was it to give birth Me: last year vacation Him: have you made contact with a doctor Me: yes and hands him burden of proof (notification of intent letter, hospital correspondence, doctors correspondence, maternity leave letter from my job) arranged in that order. It was intentional He read them all then asked how much my care would cost and how much I had. I told him about 6k then I had 5002usd cos of exchange rate then my cards He asked where I work, I told him. He stamped me in 6months. All this took like 3minutes. I was jumping for joy To be continued........ 8 Likes |

kairi: Sorry for the late response, this was what I sent. NOTIFICATION OF INTENT Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to notify the embassy of my travel plans. I have a B1/B2 visa which I used for a vacation late November last year. I am pregnant and we have decided to have our baby in the USA. I have made proper arrangements by contacting a doctor and a hospital for the purpose and we have adequate finances to cover all the expenses. I understand that my visa covers for the purpose but I would like to request that you kindly update my records to reflect this information. Also advise if there is any other thing I would need to know. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

Hi @ slanliz007. Some people feel three is no need to send the letter but like phema would say its better to be 'over prepared'. Just like you I have used my visa for the purpose I got it but I still sent the letter, no harm in that. But for me I termed it notification of intent not change in travel plans Above all do what best suits you. . Good luck 3 Likes |

*peeping to see if the coast is clear* Some arguments on dis thread can be entertaining, but this one? Mbaa! No superior argument can make a woman that experienced such a loss not feel as upset as some of us feel. Let's learn to be sensitive in our post and be emotionally intelligent, @ princeadade is an example, he exchanged views with Oga justwise in d most matured way. One love 3 Likes |
Did you just type all that to a woman who carried two babies in her womb for 28 good weeks, @kizluv I am also shocked at this comment from drafrican. As much as I understand her point clearly I feel that same point can be made in a better way. What more can I say? *smh* 2 Likes |

Hello family, long time no post. I read all d time though and it so much fun with all the info-tainment. Yaayyy @blogerrina so good to read from you. But this one you are back to groundnut chopping, I wonder when you'll have our time again For those of us looking for cheap flights, has anyone thought of Turkish airlines? I think they just/or will start flying from abuja and the prices are reasonable (very). Please has any of our mamas used them before? How was the experience? How was the return leg with an infant? I read the max they fly for preggies is 35weeks from their site but they said the doctor has to include his diploma number in the fit to fly letter. Please what is a diploma number? |
