Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has imposed a 24-hour curfew on the state effective 4pm on Tuesday (today).

He said, “I have watched with shock how what began as a peaceful #EndSARS protest has degenerated into a monster that is threatening the well-being of our society.

Lives and limbs have been lost as criminals and miscreants are now hiding under the umbrella of these protests to unleash mayhem on our State.

“As a government that is alive to its responsibility and has shown a commitment to the movement #ENDSARS, we will not watch and allow anarchy in our dear state.

I, therefore, hereby impose a 24-hour curfew on all parts of the State as from 4pm today, 20th October, 2020. Nobody, except essential service providers and first responders must be found on the streets.”

President Muhammadu Buhari has stated that the Nigerian youths have the right to protest, so long as it is peaceful and focused.

The President noted this in a meeting with Mr. Sunday Dare, the Minister of Youths and Sports Development.

He appreciated the youths for bringing the issue of police brutality to the forefront and vowed to implement the demands of the protesters.

The Minister said,

“Mr. President said the youths of this country have spoken and he has heard and he has since gone to work for the youths of our country.

“The President promised that he will ensure that the reforms he has promised are met, he will make sure that the reforms are long lasting and that the reforms will deliver for our country a police force that we will be proud of

“He appreciates the fact that they have brought the SARS issues to the fore through their peaceful protest.

“He recognizes the fact that they have called upon the government to do what is necessary and that as the President and a father, he will make sure that the demands as put forward are met.

The Lagos State Government has ordered the closure of public and private schools in the state indefinitely.

This was announced in a press statement by the state’s Head of Public Affairs, Ministry of Education, Kayode Abayomi, on Monday.
The statement was titled, ‘Lagos directs students to stay at home’.

It quoted the Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo, as saying that the schools were shut down over “tension generated by the #EndSARS protests.”

The statement read in part, “The Lagos State Government has directed all pupils/students in public and private schools to stay at home following the tension generated by the anti-SARS protests.“

A new date of resumption for all classes will be announced as soon as possible.”
Adefisayo added that “the safety of the pupils/students, parents and all staff working in schools is paramount at this critical period”.
She however advised parents to “keep an eye on their wards and not allow them to be used as willing tools in the hands of those who might want to hijack the protests to unleash mayhem on the society”.
The Commissioner also encouraged schools to “utilise other means of distance teaching and learning i.e radio, television and online media as they have been doing during and post the recent COVID-19 lockdown”.

One of the inmates freed, after thugs hijacked the #EndSARS protest in Benin and seized the opportunity to free prisoners, have spoken.



The inmate noted that he had been wrongfully detained for two years, before the hoodlums set him free, today, October 19th.



Recall that, it was earlier reported that the #EndSARS protest in Benin City, Edo State took a different turn on Monday as thugs hijacked what would have been a peaceful protest and seized the opportunity to free prisoners.


According to reports, suspected thugs hijacked the peaceful end SARS protest, stormed the prison facility, and overpowered the prison officials before setting the prisoners free.

Some videos show the prisoners escaping through the fence, other vides show the prisoners running on the street and another video shows some prisoners changing outfits.

However, a man who claimed to be an inmate of prison said he was glad to be out after two years and thanked Nigerian youths saying they are too much.

An unidentified lady during the #EndSARS protest in Enugu refused to fly the Nigerian flag as she grieved the loss of her three brothers to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

The #EndSARS protest that has been ongoing for a week is a campaign against the unjust killings and brutality by the police in Nigeria.

The young lady, who is yet to be identified, was captured by a protester during the protest against police brutality in Enugu on Tuesday, October 13.

Her photo went viral on social media and people wanted to know the story behind her actions. A twitter user noted that the protest was a personal fight for her as her three brothers were murdered in cold blood and dumped in a well by SARS officials.

Popular Nigerian singer, Naira Marley has opined that the ongoing #EndSARS protest can possibly result in a revolution.

The singer took to his official Twitter account to state that, the ongoing protest against police brutality can result in a forcible overthrow of government, as he addressed some peculiar problems that have popped up as a result of these protests.

Recall that, Naira has given the government one week ultimatum to scrap the Special Anti Robbery Squad, or he leads another protest.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Gombe Zonal office, has arrested one Adebayo Olawale of No. 25 Fashina Road, Ile-Ife Osun State and his pastor Gbenga Moses Adesoju of Christ Apostolic Church, Ile-Ife, Osun State for allegedly defrauding one Umar Hayatu of Lafiya quarters, Dukku Local Government Area of Gombe State to the tune of N12.7m.

A statement released by Wilson Uwujaren, spokesperson of the antigraft agency, states that the duo were apprehended at Ile Ife following a petition jointly written by the relatives of the victim (Umar Hayatu). They alleged that the suspects conspired and defrauded the victim via social media platforms and phone calls under the pretense that he won a car, some expensive phones and an offer of employment into a juicy position.




”Adebayo, the prime suspect, contacted the victim severally using fake Facebook account names; Williams Angellina and Omolola Adebayo and deceived the victim into believing that his parents have a Company abroad and will make him (victim) the Nigerian Manager of the Company at Lagos. The suspect further sent the victim various fake pictures of Houses and cars that would be given to him as fringe benefits as soon as the company commences operation. He also promised him 30,000 US Dollars and expensive gifts such as iPhone and Jewelleries” the statement read in part.

The anti-graft agency added that preliminary investigation revealed that the sum of N12, 798, 387.00, proceeds of the fraud, was traced to the suspect’s account in a new generation bank. Adesoju, his alleged accomplice, was also said to have received a BMW car, a plot of land and various sums of money from the proceeds of crime for his spiritual intervention.




The EFCC disclosed that both suspects had volunteered useful information and would be charged to court as soon as the investigation is concluded.

The Federal Government of Nigeria has directed all schools to reopen in the country on Monday, October 12th after months of closure due to COVID-19 pandemic.

The resumption date was announced by the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, at a press briefing in Abuja today.

Adamu urged academic institutions adhere strictly to the guidelines for the reopening of schools initially announced by the presidential task force.

A Nigerian man, simply identified as Babatunde has been left shocked after his girlfriend attacked and broke up with him for sending her N15,000 for her birthday celebration.

Apparently, it was her birthday and she requested for money from her boyfriend, which he obliged and sent N15,000.




Babatunde, who felt accomplished and confident in the amount he sent, told her to use the money to have fun and chill.

The young lady, whose name is Tola, fired back at him for sending a meagre amount. According to her, in their previous outing, he spent N25,000 on food alone so why would he send N15,000.




An infuriated Tola attacked her boyfriend, describing him as a stingy man and instructed him never to contact her again.




Some social media users have reacted to the incident, with a larger percentage condemning the young lady for feeling entitled and ungrateful.

Neo disclosed this during an interview with the Beat 99.9 FM Lagos today, October 1, 2020.

Recall some weeks ago, while the BBNaija lockdown show was still airing, Nengi had on one occasion caught Neo washing Vee’s pants.

During the interview with Osi Suave, Neo was asked why he washed Vee‘s pants and the Warri brought up definitely had reasons to backup his action in the house.

A Nigerian woman identified as Ogochukwu Anichukwu has been called out alongside her husband for allegedly pouring hot water on her eight year old house help for licking milk.

According to Jane Iyke who shared the story on Facebook the couple have been reported to the human right legal initiative in Ekwulobia, Anambra State.

Jane wrote,




“This case is before Human right legal initiative Ekwulobia Anambra State already but if you know this girl Mma from Awgu Enugu State,kindly advise the family to come and pick their child before they bring her back in corpse.




“This child is living with Mrs Ogochukwu Anichukwu from Ndikelionwu and Mr. Emmanuel Anichukwu from Enugu State as a househelp in Nanka Anambra state.




“This girl’s offense was that she licked the milk meant for her baby, she poured hot water on her and locked her inside so that neighbors won’t see her in that state.




“The neighbours confirmed to have seen the girl eating sand severally because of starvation. She’s now used to flogging which was why the woman used hot water this time.




“The neighbor that reported to the Human rights legal aid according to them entered their house unexpectedly and caught Mma trying to run inside to avoid been seen as she was vehemently warned not to allow anyone see her. The girl is now in the hospital for proper medical care.”, she added.

Nengi and Ozo Relationship. Big Brother Naija, BBNaija 2020 lockdown housemate, Nengi on Sunday night gave reasons she refused to accept Ozo’s proposal to her.
