Earlier today, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the All Progressives Congress (APC), were both served with an Order, disqualifying the APC Governorship candidate, Mr. Lyon David & his Deputy Governorship Candidate, Senator Degi-Eremienyo, from participating in the November 16, 2019 Bayelsa State Gubernatorial election.

Simon Onu, a van driver with Bayelsa Radio, has been shot dead while several others sustained injuries at a political rally in Nembe Bayelsa state.

The gunmen were said to have invaded the rally of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday afternoon while the event was ongoing.

This is coming three days to the governorship election in the state

Fidelis Soriwei, spokesman of Seriake Dickson, the governor, alleged that the attack was carried out by thugs of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“Thugs of the All Progressives Congress led by Gabriel Jonah and one Kodjo Samfired at members of the Peoples Democratic in a bid to prevent the gubernatorial rally of the party for Nembe Local Government Area,” Soriwei wrote on Facebook.


The attackers also opened fire at the Protocol bus of the Bayelsa State Government House at a junction between Bassambiri and Ogbolomabiri.

“One of the PDP members died of gunshot injuries while several others sustained serious injuries and have been rushed to the hospital.

“Meanwhile, Bayelsa State Governor, the Honourable Henry Seriake Dickson, has insisted that the rally must go on.

“The Governor who condemned the violence urged the security agencies to take full control of the situation for the PDP rally to hold peacefully.”

A man, identified as Uzor, is currently on the run after stabbing his younger brother to death for allegedly disrespecting his girlfriend in Onitsha, AnambraState.

It was gathered that Uzor’s girlfriend had reported Emeka to his elder brother that he was insulting and disrespecting her. This triggered a fight between the brothers.

At a point, Uzor went to get a dagger and started chasing Emeka, with a threat to kill him. Before people could intervene, he made good the threat by stabbing his brother to death.

During the build up of 2015 election, PDP politicians like Amechi, Saraki, Atiku, Kwankwaso joined the Opposition party APC for a particular reason of helping General Buhari to win the election.
The chicken came home to roast when many of them found out that the devil they knew was better than the angel they don't know. So, a whole lot of the flock back to PDP.
But the damage has been done. It is now impossible to revert it back.
Some of these politicians who returned back to PDP were allowed to come back and even context election, which is very bad.
I think, PDP should expel them as soon as possible.
