The Public Relations Officer of the Command, Rotimi Oladokun, said, “The inmates at Female Custodial Facility commemorated International Women’s Day. There were a series of event: talkshows, talent show, music, comedy, and beauty pageant.” Read Also International Women Day: Girl child education in Yobe IWD 2022: Nigeria's Veronica Aina emerges British High Commissioner for one day ‘Some women have no business with International Women’s Day’ Commenting on the emergence of Chidinma as Miss Cell, Oladokun said, “I can’t comment on a particular winner because there were many winners. Cell A may decide to sing, Cell B may decide to do beauty pageant, while Cell C may decide to present a play. “Maybe her own cell decided to present a pageant show and she won as a representative there. Amarachi Okeh The latest data from the National Primary Health Care Development Agency has revealed that the South-South and South-East states of Nigeria rank low in COVID-19 vaccination. According to the data, the South-South and South-East states of Bayelsa, Ebonyi, Anambra, Imo and Akwa Ibom still rank very low when compared to other states in the country. According to the NPHCDA data, Bayelsa has vaccinated the least number of people against COVID-19 with only 58,112 recipients receiving the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Bayelsa is followed by Ebonyi with 96,400 recipients, while Imo and Anambra had 134,027 and 141,484 recipients inoculated with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccines. The NCDC data, however, revealed that the Northern states of Nasarawa, Jigawa were the best performing states by the NPHCDA ranking followed by Ogun, the Federal Capital Territory and Kwara state. The nation’s primary health agency also noted that in the last month, the number of fully vaccinated persons has increased by 20 per cent across the country. It noted that 18,716,455 persons have received at least a dose of the COVID-19 vaccine so far. This accounts for 16.1 per cent of the total eligible population targeted with the vaccine. However, 9,361,616 which make up 8.4 per cent of the same population have been fully inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccine. https://healthwise.punchng.com

The Peoples Democratic Party has presented the Certificate of Return to the winner of the Osun Primary elections, Senator Ademola Adeleke. The presentation took place at the National Executive Council Hall of the party’s national secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja on Thursday. This is as the PDP’s National Working Committee shunned Dotun Babayemi who also emerged as a governorship candidate in one of the parallel primaries held in the state. The PUNCH had reported that Adeleke and Babayemi emerged PDP’s governorship candidates in two parallel primary elections conducted on Tuesday. A faction of the party led by Mr. Sunday Bisi held its governorship primary at Osogbo City Stadium, while Wale Ojo-led faction held another primary at WOCDIF Centre, Osogbo. Announcing the result of the primary held at Osogbo City Stadium, the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Lawrence Ewurujakpo, who was the chairman of the governorship primary, said Adeleke garnered 1, 887 votes to emerge victorious, while Fatai Akinbade, Akin Ogunbiyi and Babayemi recorded no vote. Mr. Sanya Ominrin got four votes. At another primary held at WOCDIF Centre, Osogbo, the returning officer, Adelani Ajanaku, said accredited voters were 1,907, while 27 votes were voided. Ajanaku further said Omirin got 16 votes; Ogunbiyi scored 23; Akinbade -28, Dele Adeleke -32, while Babayemi got 1,781 to emerge the winner. The two factions had initially disagreed on the list of delegates that would be used for the exercise. Read Osun 2022: Adeleke, Babayemi emerge candidates in parallel gov primaries Speaking after the exercise, Babayemi had described his emergence as a challenge to turn around the state for the betterment of its people. He said, “I see my emergence today as a great challenge, a clarion call to a divine assignment to bring to bear, the vision of our founding fathers. “This, I promise, shall be pursued with every fibre of our being. This is because Osun, which is our common heritage, has suffered enough degradation in the hands of interlopers.” Adeleke, in his acceptance speech, called on the party to unite ahead of the governorship poll, adding that with cooperation, the PDP would defeat the ruling party at the poll. He said, “No victor, no vanquished. We are all winners. Let us work together to rescue people of Osun State from the current APC government. “The good people of Osun State have suffered enough under the current APC government.” https://punchng.com/osun-2022-pdp-nwc-shuns-babayemi-issues-certificate-of-return-to-adeleke/?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Facebook&fbclid=IwAR1eyFvTrZ0cbEfnL2e2REN0qYDxknb638B51vekWjRXfkhobsFe4ickazY#Echobox=1646919739

P-Square’ll sell out London’s O2 Arena even without new songs, Mr P boasts Nigerian singer, Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, has boasted that the iconic singing duo, P-Square, made up of himself and his twin brother, Paul, would sell out O2 Arena in London during their concert. Mr P, who said this on his verified Twitter page on Tuesday, noted that P-Square would “close down” the 20,000-capacity arena, whether they sing new songs or not. He wrote, “We don’t need to shut down O2. We are only going to close it down; with or without new songs! Legend is Legend.” The singer had earlier shared a clip from P-Square’s Christmas show on his Twitter page, as he asked his fans to decide which stadium they’d use for the upcoming London concert. “Team P-SQUARE, should we O2 or Wembley this sh*t? Comment below. O2 is calling The Kings of Stage. #Rehearsals #AboutToDisturbLondon #PsquareWorldTourLoading,” he tweeted late Monday. He also shared the same post on his Instagram page and fans took to the comment session to share their opinions. In a series of posts on his Instagram story, Mr P also wrote, “London and the world. Are you ready for the King of Stage? @psqaureworld world tour loading. “Don’t joke with the Kings of Stage. We don’t do concerts, we do crusades. With or without new songs!” This came shortly after award-winning singer, Davido, concluded his successful London concert where he sold out the O2 Arena. Professionally known as Rudeboy, Paul, however, hasn’t made any post concerning the O2 Arena. However, he had in January 2022 hinted at a world tour. The announcement came two months after the duo reunited after a five-year feud that led to the closeout of the group. The Christmas concert was their comeback show to announce the re-establishment of the group. https://punchng.com/p-squarell-sell-out-londons-o2-arena-even-without-new-songs-mr-p-boasts/?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Facebook&fbclid=IwAR2zcxSoBnwVfIK7FVuZlPDI7t4WHh6q_UxwSR5pDaTGX8YlZKlYbWnWx5U#Echobox=1646725649
