Don't Just Blame Rape; Blame These Peoples. Just few days ago a young, aspiring and hopeful undergraduate of University of Benin, UNIBEN, was grousomely raped and murdered by some brute-like inhumane humans inside the Redeemed Christian Church of God hall. Her hope of becoming a microbiologist and her life were all ended by just 5minutes gratification of a wicked fellow. This brutal rape and murder of Miss Vera Uwaila Omozuw is just one in thousands of such cases of henious acts by rapists happening almost on daily basis in our country, with majority going unpunished and few underpunished. With this evil spreading like a wild fire, should we fold our hands and watch the future of our children, girls and women destroyed and then only end in noise on social media, radio and other media of communication? Why the increase in rape cases because we never had it like this in the past? What is actually the cause because every problem has a cause? Who is to blame? Don't just blame the rape. Blame many of our parents, who, in the name of being civilized have failed to maintain the value of decency and modest dressings on their children. Some go to the extent of buying sexy dressings themselves for the girl child. Don't just blame the rape. Blame our lawmakers, at both national and state level, who have failed to make and domesticate the laws that protect human lives, especially the girl child rights and protection acts. Instead, they keep making laws that favor them and appropriate huge billions of Naira for themselves and the executives, as they keep demolishing and renovating their complexes. Don't just blame the rape. Blame the executive arm of government , on whose shoulders lies the security of lives and property but have failed woefully to protect lives of the average Nigerian, especially the womenfolk. What are the governors doing with over N300M monthly security vote that they cannot install CCTV cameras across their states to fish out perpetrators of these rape acts and other crimes as it's done in other countries where security exists? Don't just blame rape. Blame some of the churches, who, in a desperate attempt to retain their members have resorted to preaching extreme liberalism, where the way you dress to their churches do not matter. They try to justify their carefree attitude by saying God does not look at the outward appearance but the heart. But they forgot that men and Satan, who have little or no mercy look at those outward appearances. Hence, setting their members up for those heartless rapists. Don't just blame the rape. Blame our Nollywood and Music Industry, who are copying the rotten Western mode of indecent culture of nudity and are displaying it to the gullible Nigerian society, forgetting that unlike America and other Western countries they copy, Nigeria has little or no security, or rule of law. Don't just blame rape. Blame most of our girls who have made nudity in the name of fashion the order of the day. Bump shorts and other seductive dresses which were abnormal are almost becoming normal in this our insecure country, thereby luring those criminal elements to themselves, even causing harm to other innocent girls. Don't just blame rape. Blame those animal-like criminals, who, because of just 5 minutes selfish gratification destroy the lives and future of others, and their own lives as well, whether they are caught or not. It will be good if a stiffer penalties are made to await any rapist. Infact, their genitals should be cut, and they should face death penalty or life imprisonment. Godswill Joseph O. What is your opinion to the causes of rape and how to stop it? Do you agree with the author?

LETTER TO ABBA KYARI Dear Sir You died in this country Nigeria because of COVID-19 pandemic. It's unfortunate that the lockdown in different countries of the world is what kept you in Nigeria. It is on record that many Nigerian politicians prefer to die abroad (except when they die by accident). But please sir, as you get to the world beyond, tell Herbert Macauley that the party he founded has been turned to People's Destroying Party. Help us tell Obafemi Awolowo that we now pay school fees without going to school. Notify Nnamdi Azikiwe that the long wall to democracy he built has fallen, only the cracked fence still stands. Let chief Anthony Enaharo know that the independent nation he fought for is no more. Alhaji Ahmadu Bello will be interested in the Judiciary system. Please, let him know that our judicial system now favours only the rich and please, don't forget to tell Murtala Mohammed that we still use kerosene to cook and candle to see. Please, if you are privileged to meet king Jaja of opobo, tell him that we still live as slaves (modern slave) in our own country Nigeria. Tell him boldly that this leaders have pursued many Nigerians out of this country to foreign lands to suffer and wash toilet for the white and end up being deported. Please, tell Dele Giwa that the Nigerian Press has been bought with not just money, but so much money and pocketed by prominent parties. Finally sir, help us tell Prof Iyayi that the federal government keeps paying billions into ASUU account but they are yet to receive alert on any transaction. O before I conclude, say me Hi to Yaradua. Tell him, it is a shame on all Nigerian leaders that non is able to emulate his leadership style. Tell them we need our hospitals fixed. Let them know that the masses needs quality education to build worthy leaders of tomorrow. Tell them we need good roads and leaders that will lead by example. Tell them we are yearning for a new, branded and a fixed Nigeria.
