Eddie Hearn ridiculed John Fury’s £500million demand for his son to fight Anthony Joshua in a unification fight.

Joshua has directed his promoter to chase a clash with Tyson Fury after the Gypsy King dethroned Deontay Wilder in a superb performance to become the new WBC champion.
John, who plays a key role in his son’s decision making, thinks a fight between Joshua and Fury should be generating over half a billion pounds.
Hearn was baffled by John’s calculations and dismissed the suggestion of such an unprecedented fight purse. ‘I would never disagree with John Fury,’ Hearn told IFL TV. ‘[He said] I’m not sleeping, he’s going to ruin my life? ‘He wants half a billion for the fight? He obviously doesn’t want the fight if he wants half a billion.

Tyson Fury’s promoter Frank Warren wants the new WBC heavyweight champion to fight fellow Brit Anthony Joshua next in a world title unification bout but says Deontay Wilder will first have to be persuaded to forgo an immediate rematch.
Fury claimed the WBC title in Las Vegas on Saturday with a seventh-round stoppage of Wilder, who fought the Briton to a split-decision draw in their first meeting in December 2018.
Wilder said this week that he would exercise his option of a third fight but Warren said he does not want to delay a mouth-watering match-up with Joshua, who holds the other three titles.
“I prefer to go straight to Joshua but that’s the contract,” Warren told the BBC. “If he insists on the fight, we’re locked into it.
“It has to be honoured unless we reach some accommodation for him to step aside. We could pay him to step aside if he wants to do that, but that’s his choice.
“It would be lucrative for him, but I have spoken to his manager and Deontay does believe he has the beating of Tyson, and he can knock him out,” added Warren.

The Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje on Tuesday announced a ban on street begging by children popularly referred to as Almajiris.
The governor’s spokesperson, Abba Anwar, in a statement sent to PREMIUM TIMES said the effort was to fully consolidate the free and compulsory primary and secondary schools education in the state.
Mr Anwar said the decision was meant to integrate the Almajiri system into the policy and address the lingering problem of street begging.
Mr Ganduje warned that henceforth, Almajiri teachers must accept the new approach put in place by the state government.
“If almijiri teacher thinks he cannot accept the new policy he has to leave the state,” he said.
“When Almajiri are caught begging, it is not only that beggar is caught, but his parents or guardians. Such parents or guardians would be taken to court to face the wrath of the law,” Mr Anwar quoted his principal as saying in the statement.
According to the statement, the governor announced the decision during the launching of Basic Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA) and Distribution of Offer of Appointment to 7,500 volunteer teachers, held at Sani Abacha Stadium.
“This policy of free and compulsory basic and secondary education goes along with its integration of our Almajiri system into the mainstream policy implementation. This suggests that English and Arithmetic must be included in the Almajiri schools curriculum,” the governor said.

This, according to him, will give those children other types of education, while they will continue acquiring their knowledge of the Holy Qur’an.
“That will give them an opportunity to continue with their studies to secondary schools and beyond,” the governor highlighted.
At the event, 7,500 newly recruited teacher volunteers under the BESDA programme were given letters of appointment.
“They will be posted to Islamiyyah and Almajiri schools, so that our Almajiri schools would be fully integrated under our new policy of education,” the statement added.

This one go dey get fast and double double promotion all the time.

Tyson Fury has told Anthony Joshua he ‘ missed his chance ’ to beat Deontay Wilder and claim the WBC belt, declaring himself the number one heavyweight in the world after beating the American .
The Gypsy King delivered a masterclass in Las Vegas on Sunday completely overawing Wilder and leaving his opponent bloodied and bruised before his corner threw in the towel in the seventh round .
Joshua holds the rest of the belts in the division – and promoter Eddie Hearn has already teased a unification fight – but Fury is only focused on savouring his victory .

“ I ’ m not concentrating on other fights who cares. Let me enjoy the spoils of war . ”

“ I took the chance , I came over here , I took over America , and that ’ s it. I ’ m going to enjoy the spoils of war and enjoy myself and that ’ s it . ’
“ If Deontay don’t want the rematch , then let’ s go AJ . ”
“ I beat Wladimir Klitschko in Germany , I beat Deontay Wilder in Los Angeles and came back and did it again in Las Vegas. Say no more. ”

Third Death Linked To Coronavirus Announced By Italy
The woman had been in hospital in Crema, located in Lombardy, where most cases of infections have been reported.
An elderly cancer patient became the third person known to be infected with Coronavirus to die in Italy, health officials said on Sunday, as the number of people contracting the virus continued to mount.
The woman had been in hospital in Crema, located in Lombardy, where most cases of infections have been reported, according to the AFP.
“She had been hospitalised for a few days,” Giulio Gallera, Lombardy’s health chief, said during a news conference. “She’d been tested and they already knew she had Coronavirus.”
The head of Italy’s civil protection department, Angelo Borrelli, said 152 people had now tested positive for the virus, including the three deceased.
Italy became the first country in Europe to announce death from Coronavirus on Friday when a 78-year-old man died in the region of Veneto.
A 77-year-old woman died in Lombardy on Saturday, prompting new security measures by Italy’s government to contain the spread of the infection.
Eleven towns — 10 in Lombardy and one in Veneto — are now under lockdown, with residents prohibited from leaving.
Regional authorities have cancelled public events such as football matches and instructed schools to remain closed. www.saharareporters.com/2020/02/23/third-death-linked-coronavirus-announced-italy

The Minister of Water Resources, Suleiman Adamu, said approval was granted at the Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja on Wednesday. Adamu said the abandoned project, which started in 2010, had the completion period of 36 months.
The Nigerian Government had approved the for the sum required for the Tada Shonga Irrigation Project in Kwara State to N10.18bn.
The Minister of Water Resources, Suleiman Adamu, said approval was granted at the Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja on Wednesday.
Adamu said the abandoned project, which started in 2010, had the completion period of 36 months.
He said the variation had increased the size of the project from 1,500 hectares to 2,200 hectares of irrigation.
He said, “So, for that purpose, we sought for the augmentation and variation in the sum of N6.9bn, raising the project from the original sum of N3.263bn to N10.18bn.
“Council was gracious enough to approve this project because of the huge potentials that it has for the food security policy and our desire to make agriculture a focal instrument of our economy.
“This project is located in the Niger River Basin. Between the Rivers Niger and Benue basins, we have potentials for about 1.8 million hectares for irrigation and we’ve been trying to encourage the private sector to also join us in developing these huge areas with great potentials for agriculture and this is one step forward towards developing the irrigation potentials of that basin.”
