Every faithful day I see all around me many handsome looking guys and sexy ladies, and I marvel at how beautifully they are created. One day a pretty lady walked into my office…. I was like wow “God finish work on this babe o” I was enchanted with her beauty. Don’t blame me for falling for the good look, after all am an active single and searching bobo so I see no crime in that. But my little minute chitchat or should I call it conversation with her dropped my moral. FamilyOur Biggest Career Decision Is Who You Marry by workgist(op): 4:39pm On Jan 27, 2015
It seems that no matter how you slice it, one of the key choices you will make about your career is who you marry. This is especially true for women.
Here are just a few areas where your choice of spouse will ultimately impact your career path:

• Money. The earning potential of your spouse will impact who becomes the breadwinner for your family. As pointed out, “If you marry someone who is terrible at earning money, or someone who is good at earning money but doesn’t want to, then you will have to take responsibility for earning the money” and vice versa. If you marry someone who is great at earning money and loves to earn money then you might have to deal with bullet point B.http://www.workgist.com/your-biggest-career-decision-is-who-you-marry/
Career5 Signs Your Body Wants You To Quit Your Job by workgist(op): 12:57pm On Jan 26, 2015
Plenty of people hate their jobs. Exactly how many is hard to say, but depending on which study you believe, somewhere between 20% and 40% of workers can’t stand their jobs.
And to a lot of people this is just the way things are. Once when I went to do a speech a young man told me that “of course I hate my job – that’s why they pay me to do it.” Many people still have the attitude that if you’re enjoying work, you’re not working hard enough, and that the only path to career success is to work long hours and sacrifice everything else in your life for a job that makes you miserable.
Well, it turns out that not only is this kind of thinking completely wrong (studies show that people who like their jobs are more productive and successful at work) but it can also make you sick.
Here are 5 ways that hating your job can harm your health. If any of these signs resonate with you, your body may be telling you to quit your job — or at least make some changes......http://www.workgist.com/5-signs-your-body-wants-you-to-quit-your-job/

CareerChoosing Between Work And Love? The Best Reasons To Hang On by workgist(op): 2:34pm On Jan 21, 2015
Choosing Between Work and Love? The Best Reasons to Hang Onto that Long-Distance Boyfriend (or Girlfriend)

Better opportunities and a bad economy force people to be increasingly flexible and expand their job searches to “everywhere”. Once you get that great job offer, the job of your dreams, packing your belongings and moving away can be an easy decision.
In many cases there might be a significant other who waves goodbye. For some it’s just a break-up waiting to happen, others are determined to make a long distance relationship work.
Even though it’s more convenient than ever to stay in touch and communicate, long distance relationships still have a bad reputation, and we all know couples who’ve broken up before all the boxes are unpacked (or where surprise visits ended badly). Unless you are in a successful long distance relationship, the general sentiment seems to be that they don’t work (seems tautological, doesn’t it?).
But let me point out a few advantages,.....http://www.workgist.com/choosing-between-work-and-love-the-best-reasons-to-hang-onto-that-long-distance-boyfriend-or-girlfriend/

RomanceLadies, The Smarter You Are, The More Likely You Are To Be Single by workgist(op): 4:23pm On Jan 19, 2015
It’s a tough world out there… full of awkward first dates, bad sex and limited chances at orgasms. Women now associate the dating landscape with the same risks many face going out at night in the rain. It’s cold, uncomfortable and it’s more than likely that you’ll die before getting that fire lit.
After years of bad trips and valuable packing lessons, we go in a little more prepared each time. We’ve learned tips, tricks and lessons that could only be experienced firsthand, quickly learning the scams,
We’ve changed our clothes, hair and grooming styles to fit the destination, yet there’s something we can’t seem to change that’s making the journey a treacherous hike. Something we can’t hide and something we refuse to keep at home. Something we won’t check at baggage claim or give up at customs.
Unfortunately, for women, intelligence many times hinders our travels and keeps us from the promise land. Because, for all you bright and educated women out there, what you feel is real… intelligent women are more likely to be single.
The popular saying “ignorance is bliss” doesn’t exactly cover the broad spectrum of woes women feel as they sit alone Friday nights with no one to discuss or read lines from Punch with.
It doesn’t assuage a woman’s pain as her parents ask where her boyfriend is and why she can’t find a nice guy.
The saying should be something closer to “ignorant women get the man and intelligent women never feel bliss.”.....http://www.workgist.com/ladies-the-smarter-you-are-the-more-likely-you-are-to-be-single/

FamilyA Gift Of Love! by workgist(op): 2:33pm On Jan 15, 2015
''Can I see my baby?” the happy new mother asked.
When the bundle was nestled in her arms and she moved the fold of cloth to look upon his tiny face, she gasped. The doctor turned quickly and looked out the tall hospital window. The baby had been born without ears.
Time proved that the baby’s hearing was perfect. It was only his appearance that was marred. When he rushed home from school one day and flung himself into his mother’s arms, she sighed, knowing that his life was to be a succession of heartbreaks. He blurted out the tragedy. “A boy, a big boy … called me a freak.”http://www.workgist.com/a-gift-of-love/
Nairaland General10 Essential Qualities Of A Great Friend by workgist(op): 5:05pm On Jan 13, 2015
Friendship is one of those undervalued topics in our culture. Just as we value achievement over process and staying busy over taking time to rest, so we value intimate partnership high above platonic friendship.
And yet, as many happily married people will tell you, the reason why their marriage is successful is because of their strong friendships. And as many happily single people will tell you, the reason why they’re happy is because of their solid network of support.
However, great friends don’t grow on trees, as I often tell my clients who are longing to meet more kindred spirits. A decent friend is fairly easy to come by, but a great friend — a truly like-minded and like-hearted individual with whom you share that special alchemy — is a rare gift.
And once you leave the school environment, it’s even more challenging to meet a great friend. But just like one of the keys to a successful partnership is to learn about what it means to give love (instead of buying into the cultural definition that love is only a feeling), one of the secrets to attracting and sustaining meaningful and rich friendships is to become the friend you wish to have. Be the person you wish to attract.
What follows are 10 essential qualities of a great friend. As you read through the list, notice which ones you embody and which you could improve upon. And if you’ve even one or friend who embodies these qualities, count your blessings. A great friend is a gift to cherish for a lifetime and is often the lifeline that gets you through the rough patches of daily living......http://www.workgist.com/10-essential-qualities-of-a-great-friend/
FamilyHusbands Are Happiest When Wives Earn As Much Or More Money by workgist(op): 1:40pm On Jan 09, 2015
A wife bringing home the fat cash isn’t the death knoll of a relationship that it has been made out to be. According to a new survey of 1,000 married couples over age 25 by MONEY magazine, husbands are actually happier when on equal financial footing with their wives.Couples were asked to subjectively rate their happiness in relationships, as well as report on the “hotness” of their sex life, of couples where the wife earned as much or more than her husband, 83 percent reported they were happy or very happy (compared to 77 percent of couples where the wife earned no money or earned less). Couples with higher-earning wives also reported the best sex lives, with 51 percent attesting that what goes down between the bedsheets is “very good.” But it wasn’t just the couples together who reported happiness. Men, specifically, said they were happy with their sex lives with high-earning women: fifty-six percent of those married to women who earned as much or more called their sex lives “very good” (compared to 43 percent when the wives earned less). These men also expressed more overall happiness. Many Nigerian men are now exposed to the benefit they get from having a wife that is financially upright....http://www.workgist.com/study-husbands-are-happiest-when-wives-earn-as-much-or-more-money/
CareerHow To Get Promoted. Fast!!! by workgist(op): 5:15pm On Jan 07, 2015
Want more power, success and cash? Unsure of how to land a promotion at work? Have no fear - Below are some handy suggestions

We all start the year making, new resolutions. Ok, for many of us those resolutions are not that new (and however much I determine not to make any, there’s a moment each year on January 1 when a particular resolve lodges in my mind). But whilst some may be quickly forgotten, and others may turn into an annoying subtitle - an unsilenceable whisper that haunts you every time you open the fridge - there are those that prove endlessly satisfying and rewarding. And when it comes to the workplace, those rewards can be financial. If one of your New Year’s resolutions is to get ahead in the office, or if you’re sitting at your desk on the first or second day back after the holidays wondering whether 2015 will be the year you finally get promoted, here are seven top tips on how to start: http://www.workgist.com/how-to-get-promoted-fast/
CareerGet Married First, Then Focus On Your Career. by workgist(op): 2:17pm On Jan 06, 2015
I was surfing the internet some days back,I came across this article “Get Married First, Then Focus on Your Career” it goes thus:
Women who want to have kids should make it a high priority in their early twenties to find a partner. A Newsweek cover story, Marriage by the Numbers, says is okay to wait until after 35 to get married. Newsweek is revising the saying that a woman has more chance of getting hit by a truck than getting married after age 35.
But the article ignores one of the most pressing issues facing Generation X: Infertility. No generation of women has had more trouble with fertility than this generation who received the terrible advice, “Wait. You have time. Focus on your career first.”
In fact, you have your whole life to get a career. This is not true about having a baby.........http://www.workgist.com/get-married-first-then-focus-on-your-career/

FamilyWhat Is Your OCCUPATION? by workgist(op): 3:51pm On Dec 23, 2014
A woman named Emily renewing her driver’s license at the Transport office was asked by the clerk to state her occupation. She hesitated uncertain how to classify herself. What I mean is “explained the clerk,” do you have a job or are you just a ……? Snapped Emily. “I’m a Mum”. We don’t list ’Mum’ as an occupation…… ‘Housewife’ covers it, said the clerk emphatically
I forgot all about her story until one day I found myself in the same situation, this time at our local police station. The clerk was obviously a career woman, poised, efficient and possessed of a high sounding title like “official interrogator” or “Town Registrar”, what is your occupation? She probed. What made me say it? I do not know….
The words simply popped out.http://www.workgist.com/what-is-your-occupation/
FamilyMY STORY:A Stupid Mistake by workgist(op): 4:54pm On Dec 22, 2014
It was a partial cloudy day with little drizzling in the air. I stood at a road side waiting for a cab so I could go to my Station. Everything was going on just the way it was when suddenly I felt a voice beside me; it was a boy with tattered clothes and a face that surely seemed like it was never washed at all. I felt so abhorrent at that moment that I literally tried to pull myself away from that little boy because of a bad mood that I had inflicted upon myself. homeless
The boy kept following me shouting out “bros bros (Big Brother! Big Brother!) But I was too obstinate to answer him at all. My inner self was cursing the country for its poor conditions, those unhealthy little people that we all see sleeping on the pavements – as homeless as they could be. Always begging for money – it all kept creating a fuss inside my mind, making me feel more reluctant to answer that dirty little snob who kept calling me out. “Bros! Bros!” I heard him call out again. This further made me use words of profanity to execute my anger at the little kid, and the people of his kind............http://www.workgist.com/a-stupid-mistake/

FamilyImportance Of Struggle… by workgist(op): 5:14pm On Dec 19, 2014
An enthusiastic gardener saw a small butterfly laying a few eggs in one of the pots in his garden and since that day he looked at the egg with ever growing curiosity and eagerness.

One day, the egg started to move and shake a little.
He was excited to see a new life coming up right in front of his eyes.
He spent hours watching the egg now.
The egg started to expand and develop cracks..
A tiny head and antennae started to come out so slowly.

The man’s excitement knew no bounds as he got his magnifying glasses and sat to watch the life and body of a pupa coming out.

He saw the struggle of the tender pupa and couldn’t resist his urge to HELP.
He went and got a tender forceps to help the egg break, a nip here a nip there to help the struggling life. And LO!http://www.workgist.com/importance-of-struggle/
Nairaland GeneralIs Your Life Plagued By Loneliness? Tips To Overcome It by workgist(op): 4:36pm On Dec 16, 2014
I have heard gut-wrenching stories of profound and deep loneliness. My personal and professional experiences with loneliness have moved me to better understand and treat this multidimensional problem.
Simply defined, loneliness is a condition of relational disconnection, social awkwardness and prolonged bouts of solitude. Lonely people often struggle with anxiety and depression, which renders them insecure and pessimistic about finding desirable and compatible friendships.
Contrary to what many people believe, loneliness isn’t just a result of being alone or an absence of friends. It is a deeper problem that is caused by thoughts and feelings of inadequacy, imperfection and shame.
Paradoxically, lonely people believe they are essentially unworthy of healthy and mutually respectful relationships with loving, affirming and mutually giving individuals. They imagine that if they were to tell someone they are lonely, it would scare them away.
Life is too short to waste on suffering from core loneliness. Please heed to my suggestion: Open up, take a chance and access the hidden part of you that deserves true and loving companions. Learn to love yourself and eliminate loneliness from your life!

Now that Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) has emerged as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in next year’s general elections, the question many Nigerians are asking is who will be the running mate of the former Head of State?
Though the issue had attracted so much controversy recently following statements credited to Buhari, suggesting that he was not indisposed to the possibility of picking a Muslim as his running mate.
“I have not absolutely closed my mind to picking a Christian or Muslim as running mate if I get the ticket. Because I firmly believe that Nigerians, having gone through what they have gone through, realize it is not a matter of religion, but a matter of Nigeria.
“And the main religions, Christianity and Islam, they know and they believe in the almighty God. The question of stealing and short-changing people in the name of religion should stop.
