I have been struggling with landing jobs on upwork and fortunately for me, I applied to one last night and the client replied back and we did interview and was given a quick test task to do which I did and sent to him, only to plug my laptop to charge so I could hop on the zoom call to finalise with the client, NEPA took light and not quite long, my laptop went off and neither do I have a smartphone I could have used for the call. I just checked back this morning after the so called NEPA brought back light and saw that the client has hired someone else, I really feel pained that after struggling to land a job and this particular one came but lost it because of NEPA. I will never forget this day and I am waiting for who will come and tell me to be a patriotic Nigeria. This country is a mess. Any country that can give 24/7 power supply is far better than Nigeria even if is Sudan. I feel pained!
What’s your niche?
What services do you render on upwork?

I've had two of my neighbors go for ancestral dna testing recently.

Their reasons being that with the recent issues about Russia and their wahala, there may be need to have second homes especially in Africa.

They were like, if there is at least 5percent african bloods in our DNAs, will we be accepted in Africa as Africans?

I laughed that day like I was on cheap drugs. Oyibo and iberibeism ehh.😄
Funny 😄 are you in Eastern Europe?

What do you need a Nigerian passport for?
It’s worthless.
You might even get kidnapped anytime anywhere when you visit Nigeria.
Police will likely arrest and try to extort you if you are young and look rich.
And many more…
Or I forgot to let you know that our “president-elect” forfeited $460k to the USA government as proceeds from narcotics in the past.
Nigeria is a lawless country man, especially for the rich men.
Some will say I’m dissing my country of birth but I’m only saying the truth.

i never disputed what you pay, my point was and still the same, we all pay council tax/property tax its normal bill in the western world

Like i said ifs its too high for you move to other areas of the city or the city its self

Eg in UK london is expensive when it comes to accomodation and many moved to cheaper cities

He claimed that his cousin warned him against coming to the UK but he did not heed the warning meaning that he actually moved to the UK. But he claims to be paying council abi property tax in dollars and living in Chicago.

If you want Japa, please Japa. I am not saying you shouldn't japa.

They can tax so much - eh you want to cry
And sleep. Your own money goes to tax and more tax.

You are not really the owner of your property because of tax. Property tax is something else.

Child support payment na another thing on its own- if you like woman, please be careful not to have many baby mama e get why.

Nigerians back home cannot understand until they come here and experience themselves.

I remember when my cousin was warning me about the Uk. I thought he was talking nonsense until I came and experienced reality. Experience is the best teacher
If you are doing well in Naija, please stay and visit. If you are struggling, then please Japa.
Your cousin warned you about coming to the UK but you insisted and came to the UK, right? You live in the UK or USA because you talked about paying tax in dollars and not pounds. I think you have not left the shores of this country before. I don't know what you anti-Japa folks are really up to. The obsession is sickening, to say the least. Enjoy your Nigeria and let people migrate in peace

Thanks. Didn’t intend paying though. Just wanted to know if it signifies that my application is successful. I sent applications to 4 schools and no decision has been reached by any of them.
September or January intake?

1. Yes MA has been in the UK since January before I applied
2. January 2023 and i applied April
3. No, the ECO that handled my application did not request for my MA statement

Note: my first application was February, but I was refused because the money in my MA’s account was short of 600k, therefore it was termed recycled funds.
I then put my living expenses in my account then held it for the required days, and reapplied April. No nsf and I was asked to pick up my document within 8 working days.

Thank you for your response.
Please I want to get some things clear.
During your first application (February) did you submit MA’s statement of account for your POF because you said money in MA account is short of 600k.
I am assuming that this time around you submitted your own statement of account for POF, hence no need for the ECO to query MA statement of account.
Please throw more light 🙏🏽

3. Did they require for the MA statement of account to ensure that you all are not recycling funds or anything like that?

To those cheap programmers here who will accept peanuts for just any job, this is where the problem is:

The guy would pay you say 50k to 100k to get the website. You promise him free hosting or he even pays you to host.

You will host for him. You pay hosting fees with your card details and use your personal details for the registration.

You deliver admin details of the site to the client and he pays you off. A good job done abi?

What you dont know is that any fraud done with that site comes back to haunt you. It is your site. Yes you didn’t do any fraud with that site but you built it and hosted it.

Even if you just send him the codes, you might have forgotten that there are telemetries and meta data involved.

Dont write codes for yahoo boys. It comes back to bite you in the ass.
Agreed bro!
I have declined two offers from them to build a fake online banking platform.
Just like doctors took an oath to save lives and not to end it. We devs should also use our skills to make our society a better place and fight cyber crimes rather than aiding it.

What is the scam he's trying to pull with a courier we app?
It’s called “delivery” streetwise.
The victim will be told that his/her supposedly partner is sending some luggages or parcels to him or her. The web app will be used to make everything look real as the victim will be given a tracking code for tracking the non existent luggage while on transit.
The victim keeps on tracking the luggage on the website/web app until time to bill the victim reaches.

Your hypocrisy was detected and you put that to defend yourself? Prostitution was not listed as a bigger sin than fornication. In fact, going by the ten commandments, prostitution was not listed but fornication was. You people should not stop being hypocritical!
You don’t understand my point.
I am not justifying fornication, never!
But the more men/women a person sleeps with, the more chances of him or her acquiring a spiritual problem through sex.
Watch these prostitute and you will see that most of them are diabolical as a means of either protecting themselves or retaining clients.

Celibacy is the way to go till one is married but there are lesser evils!!!

You are not telling me anything. There have always been good and bad women and there will always be. That your girlfriend is not monetizing her own is your problem not mine.

A hook up babe who sleeps with two men twice weekly for one year and your girlfriend who sleeps with you 3x a week for one year are the same. As far as marriage is concerned, marrying a hook up girl who has been in the business for 4 years is a better option compared to marrying a girl who dated one guy for equal amount of years. While the hook up girl did what did purely for business, the girl who dated one guy for six years is to a large extent married to the guy and is more likely to go back to him than hook up girl going back the street.

Men have married best wife materials and they ended up forcking the gateman or someone that is not qualified to lace her husbands shoe.

I am not rooting for hook up girls, just telling you that lack you the moral ground to criticize hook up girls as long as you are fornicating because you all are one and alike. A hook up girl charges one 10k for a night, your girl bleeps you once or maybe two and you renewed her house rent. Your girlfriend as far as I am concerned is a runs girl and if she doesn't ask you for money then she is a runs girl with a bad business sense.

Just listen to yourself bro. Your are trying to sound woke but you ended up spewing trash (no offense)! Though fornication is a big sin, prostitution is bigger and more damaging no matter how woke you are trying to sound. For a woman to remove every shame and start sleeping with different men for money ( as per transactional) she don go far ooo. Yeah I know that a random girl in a relationship with a man can be sleeping with him while receiving money as a form of care but they are two different things. A man will always provided for women that they love and are capable of providing for them be it their mom, sister, cousin, wife, or girlfriend. It is the nature of men and how they show love. Women show love differently. Don't go and marry a hookup girl oo. Whether you believe in spirituality or not, some of these hookup girls have become a conduit for collecting the glory of innocent/naive/woke men by highly diabolic men especially yahoo boys, Things are happening oo!

I pray you will be hired.

But people are really suffering in this country.

Recently I met a guy in my street, I often see him seated in front of his house every morning on my way to work and evenings.... He will wave at me everytime I pass, so one day I stopped and we started talking. I asked him why he always stay there and what he does for a living, he told me he has nothing doing... Though a graduate but no work yet, he is staying with his uncle for now.
I felt for him, at that age he should be doing something better for himself, so I asked him how he can be helped... He just smiled and said, if only I can get small capital to rent that shop there(pointing at a locked shop) I will start charging phones and doing POS.
I was impressed so I told him to make enquiry of the financial cost of starting the business and get back to me. That same evening while going home, I stopped and asked him if he has done that and he told me the whole thing will cost roughly 300k. So the following morning I sent him 500k. However, to make him get serious with the business, I told him he will pay back the 500k within a year and he was very happy.

To cut the story short, within a month of starting the business... I was surprised when he came to my house one Sunday evening with his mom and uncle with so many gifts to thank me for what I did for him. That wasn't all.... He has saved 50k from the business and brought it to part pay for the 500k. I was surprised and overwhelmed with joy seeing the happiness on his face. So I jokingly asked him how much he makes from the business.... And he said on the average 15k per day... And that it's because of the cash constraints... That assuming he has more cash he will be making more money. According to him, the phone charging pays him not less than 5k daily and the rest from POS transactions. I was happy and told him to add the 50k to the cash... And I will let him know when to start paying back ( just to ginger him to work harder).
So brothers and sisters... Let's assist each other whenever we can. I wish I'm in the position to help this op... I could have done my little best
People like you are whom we are praying to become president of this country because you will lead with human sympathy not politicians again!
We need people that really cares about the poor masses and also firm enough to fight corruption!!!
But look at who inec brought upon us.
