The problem with you Afonja is you people are innately devoid of basic human conscience. You all relish to rave about One Nigeria but if we were to reverse socioeconomic landscape of this country, move all the ports in Lagos to SS and SE, shut down Muritala International Airport in Lagos, instead have you Yorubas fly to SE and SS...Enugu, Port Harcourt, Asaba, Calabar or Uyo to fly in and out of the country, will you still shout One Nigeria? Why are you people like this?
Guy take it easy. Life is too short for you to curtail this misery in your mind. Free your mind and have a nice weekend.

repogirl:
Osinbajo, please reverse this stupid decision. It makes absolutely no sense! It is an inconvenience to people travelling to and from Abuja. You expect me to travel two and a half hours by road to take a one hour thirty minutes flight to where ever? That's three and a half hours plus airline delays, which could be another two hours or more? Why shouldn't I just take the bus in that case?

I definitely can't take a morning flight, so to meet a morning appointment in another state,I will have to stay overnight in Kaduna so as to get to the airport early. Or leave Abuja by 4.30 am to get to the airport by 7am which is crazy.

Then I also can't come in with a late flight because it would be too late to travel by road, so I have to sleep over in KD before getting back to Abuja the next day. So I have to add hotel accommodation to my flight budget.

This is very insensitive to people. Foreign airlines are already refunding passengers who plan to travel from March 8.

There has to be another way to do this without closing down an international airport in a Nation's capital city.
So what alternative would you suggest for the government? The alternative could have been having another airport in the city but that is not the case for Nigeria. In developed countries, you can have 3 airports in a city. Look at New York for example, it has 3 international airports ( John F kennedy, La Guardia and Newark).

This is the only alternative dear. Sorry about that.
Politics › Re: FG Directs Oil Companies To Relocate Headquarters To Niger-delta by wristbangle: 3:20pm On Mar 03, 2017
chloride6:
Having worked in the upstream sector the French IoC wink I can tell you that the headquarters of these companies are never coming back to the Niger Delta.

In fact they are moving more towards deep offshore assets that are all operated from Lagos. More than 800kbpd is currently operated from Lagos. With bonga SW and Egina coming we are looking at 1.3 or more barrels.

There will soon be more oil operated from Lagos than the Niger Delta. This is for obvious reasons, the IOCs have analyzed the situation and seen that militancy is more than a struggle it is now business and they are tired. TOTAL office next to Eko Hotel is there for all to see. The staff are free, happy and feel at home. They even know chilling spots pass you.

When I went to the trans amadi office l, it was like a prison. I kid you not, There are three high gates manned by a whole garrison. They couldn't go out freely, in fact the fishing team had their bus shot at the same day.

IoC try as hard not to post expatriates to PH, because it like a death sentence. In short they are tired, that's why you see them selling onshore assets to local E and P while moving to a more secure offshore location not even minding the heavy development cost.

So locating headquarters in the Niger delta is ship that has sailed past.
Even though I am not in the oil sector, I can beckon that your statement is 100 percent true.

My brother, Na so we see am oo. One can't force private owned individuals how to run their business. Seriously this step can't work. It's just a plight to score cheap political pull. Make we dey watch.

Afterall AGIP now (Enigma abi wetin sef) are about to finish their HQ @ VI and other IOC expanding their admin offices in lagos, most especially @ the ongoing Eko atlantic, smart and Ibeju lekki cities.
Politics › Re: FG Directs Oil Companies To Relocate Headquarters To Niger-delta by wristbangle: 12:12pm On Mar 03, 2017
jahrule:
Oil companies are private ventures and as such the Owners site the head office where ever they feel is suitable for the purpose. Government has little or no power over this issue.

Another thing to consider in location choice of companies is funding, Oil companies would like to have their head office where they could easily contact Banks for funding projects.

Security situation in Niger-delta region is too volatile and no reasonable investors would site Its head office in such region.

Likely defence these companies would put up are the following:
1. Major Investments of these companies are in deep offshore which falls under federal government claims and no state can claim(Oil companies workers can throw more light to this)
2. Security situation would make them to maintain a skeletal offices in ND
3. Government has no right to tell them where to site their offices as non-governmental organizations.

But let`s see what happens.
U spoke my mind. Nice analysis but some people will think u are speaking from an envious mind.

For unmarried people, Eating outside is more economical than home cooking if we look at it that angle.
I eat outside when I am at work mainly during afternoon.
Yes but health wise, you still have to give it to home cooking. Working class people whether single or married most times eat outside during the week and do home cooking during the weekend.

But come oh! Do u cook early morning before going to work?

Business › Re: Has Osinbajo Tamed The Dollar? by wristbangle: 10:39am On Mar 02, 2017
Advising people to buy and hoard dollars so that they can sell to gain immensely is not different from what our legislooters are doing. I don't blame the OP though, afterall instead of making forex available for manufacturers and Business people, FG/CBN/Bank officials could only reason subsiding the dollars for school fees abroad at this particular period of the year when such activities are minimal.

As for many touts on Nairaland, well I no surprise sha, hatred won't take you anywhere if the ibos hated you guys, we won't live in your houses, we won't do business with you. Anger and rage for the ibos, while Fulani herdsmen won't hesitate to kill you all when they have the chance.

As very learned as the Yorubas are, yet very disappointing. I sorry for most of una. The very day you yorubas would realise ibos are not your enemies, I hope it won't be late by then.

Car Talk › Re: RE: Why Nigerians Are Not Buying Innoson Cars (Misleading Post By AutoReportNG) by wristbangle: 11:51pm On Mar 01, 2017
Sanchez01:
This is absolute rubbish! Indigenous or not, every company must brace for competition. It is the best way of staying afloat. If at this stage, Innoson is scared of healthy competitions then it only implies it is not ready to succeed in the auto world as far as Nigeria is concerned.

First off, I have been observing the trend of the brand for over a year now and I am not surprised that the brand is yet to break even. How can it when the target audience are the wealthy and highly placed folks in the society who pose with your vehicles on social media but never drive them? I still believe the brand is still churning out prototypes as they are not yet ready.

Myplaydiary, kindly go through the emboldened as posted by you and find below what Auto Josh pointed out which, according to you, would make Innoson fizzle out;

1 . customer care/social media (The heart and soul of every business)
2. Show Rooms (the perfect breeding ground to exhibiting your array of vehicled)
3. Spare parts/accessories (Like hell!)
4. Advert (The heart of every business)

If you are scared of doing the above because it would stiffen the competition by seeing many rival companies here, then it's a way of saying the Innoson brand should not be trusted because rather than quality service, the brand is just profit conscious.

PS: I honestly don't understand what is wrong with the thinking of most Nigerian companies. It's as if we are programmed to making the same mistakes time and time again. Innoson is clearly not ready. It is not by 'it is our own'. You have to provide those things Auto Josh mentioned to create aggressive awareness about the variety of products and also assure potential customers that there are more than enough parts of your vehicles out there. And rather than note his points, you're being defensive with some flimsy excuses. So typical of Nigerian brands. Later they'll say we don't like patronizing our own.
Concrete words my brother. Well said
Car Talk › Re: RE: Why Nigerians Are Not Buying Innoson Cars (Misleading Post By AutoReportNG) by wristbangle:
U are getting it all wrong myplaydiary. What the guy mentioned earlier was the truth and learn how to imbibe constructive criticism instead of being too defensive. Your reaction speaks volume of the automobile brand readiness to other competitors in the market. I need to recall you about what sources gathered that most Innoson employees including the CEO use foreign brand vehicles which sends wrong signals to consumers.

Ofcours you will want to tell me he is entitled to use any automobile brands that suites him but hey! that doesn't speak well for his brand. You must have heard of how toyota management team sacked their employees who use competitor brands such as honda, mazda, etc. Why can't we emulate such? Charity truly begins at home.
