⚡“Taiwan, unlike Ukraine, will receive new weapons systems, not old ones”, said Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the US House of Representatives Michael McCaul. “Unlike Ukraine, I get asked a lot of questions about this, this should not be a land war. It is predominantly a battle at sea. Taiwan, unlike Ukraine, will receive new weapons systems, not old ones, and especially old Russian weapons. This will be new stock that will be delivered to Taiwan. This will be our latest technology, by the way. The United States will continue to support our loyal partner and work to maintain the status quo in the Taiwan Strait." McCaul traveled to Taiwan as part of a bipartisan US Congressional delegation and held talks with newly elected President Lai Qingde.

⚡Russian strikes targeted Ukraine’s Starokostyantyniv Airbase in Khmelnytskyi region last night. This airbase hosts Ukrainian Su-24M bomber aircraft, modernized as carriers of Storm Shadow/SCALP-EG cruise missiles. It was this airbase that was to become one of the bases for the deployment of F-16s. The base was targeted with tens of Shahed-136 kamikaze UAVs, Kh-101 & Kinzhal missiles. 1 Like

⚡If all three Baltic countries committed their entire Ground Forces, 100% of their active duty personnel with all their equipment, they would be fielding fewer troops than the AFU lost in the Battle of Mariupol, fewer armored vehicles than the AFU lost in their 2023 counter-offensive, and about as much artillery as the AFU lose in 1-2 months. ⚡China is preparing an armada of ferries and civilian vessels to invade Taiwan as Beijing steps up its pressure campaign against the island nation. While the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) lacks the numbers of amphibious landing craft needed to stage the sort of invasion seen during the D-Day landings, it could bridge the gap with civilian vessels, including dozens of gigantic roll-on, roll-off ferries that can each carry hundreds of armoured vehicles. “Amphibious landings under fire are among the most difficult of military manoeuvres,” said Ray Powell, the director of SeaLight, a Stanford University project focused on grey zone activities in the South China Sea. Civilian ferries “would normally be poor choices for such a mission” but could be used to transport troops en masse across the Taiwan strait after its coastal defences are destroyed, or to overwhelm the island’s military “with sheer mass,” he said.
