This is not true, please get a copy of tenancy law in Nigeria or Google it to know more about it. The quit notice is in order according to the law. You only get 7 days grace to vacate the property after your tenancy expire.

Please kindly familiarize yourself with tenancy law in Nigeria so that you wont fall a victim. You only have grace of 7days after you receive 6 months quit notice during your tenancy period.

The 6 months' notice actually covers his rent period which is only accepted by people that doesn't know their rights, the notice should start from the expiration of his rent and not in between his rent.

This is very wrong, I wonder why the Nigeria Police Force don't follow simple lay down rules. It is crystal clear and stated in Section 7 of the Administrative Criminal Justice Act (ACJA) 2015 and section 36 of the Nigeria Police Act 2020 explicitly prohibits arrest by proxy.

Section 7 of ACJA 2015 states “a person shall not be arrested in a place of a suspect”.

This implies that it is illegal for the police to arrest a father in the place of his son or a mother in the place of the father, especially in criminal cases.

I wonder oo, imagine the way they put them on top of each other inside that rickety pick up. Why can't the police brings ambulance at least to honour their own. Anyway may their soul rest in peace

My brother, whenever you want to rent your house to any body, make sure you give them tenancy agreement and let it stated clearly that their tenure is one year certain if they are yearly tenant. with that clause you have all the power to send them out when their rent expire. Also make sure you write them reminder notice when their rent reach 6 month another notice when their rent remain 3month and the last one when their rent expire finally. With this no tenant can threaten you.
