freeman67: I don't know how I will calculate or explain it to you but then let me start this way. For the bond fund I started it as monthly contribution of 90k from end of January 2020 (1st week of February to be precise.) I just paid the 6th one for June last week. What is extra after the sum of my 6 months contribution of 90k is N13,000.
For the Dollar Fund, it is a meager amount of $3,000 that I put there since 1st week of March 2020. The extra on it right now is $69.
Above is why I can't expressly tell you which one has accrued more. My aim was to build that Dollar Fund gradually too but I can't afford at the rate it is being sold now. Bond fund 12.17% annualized[img][/img] bond fund returned 12% pa [img][/img] capital rate interest 1 60,000.00 12.17% 608.65 2 120,608.65 12.17% 1,223.48 3 181,832.13 12.17% 1,844.54 4 243,676.67 12.17% 2,471.91 5 306,148.58 12.17% 3,105.63 6 369,254.21 12.17% 3,745.79 13,000.00 dollar fund returned 9.2% 3 months 69 1 year 276 capital 3000 rate 9.2% add exchange diff between march and July of about 30% dollar fund out performed bond fund |

olujaidi: I'm not sure this is entirely accurate. You're not getting your 10m back at the end of each year, you're getting it at the end of the seventh year. So it's not possible to add the rental to the principal. You can only invest the rental
Your calculation also assumes that you're receiving the rental at the beginning which isn't so. It's received every half year for seven years. 10m is fixed for 7 years interest at the end of every 12 months is added to it. and reinvested at the beginning of every 12 months it will even be higher if you build in that half of the yearly interest will be received 6 months earlier |

ahiboilandgas: If u invest 10m now u will get about 18m in 7 years time if naira is now 520 in 2027 u will get 34000 dollars dollars ....an investment of 25000 dollars now your profit is 9000 dollars over 7 years .......just over 100 dollars profit per months.....if u have any thing that can give u better than 120 dollars on a investment of 25000 dollars is better than the bond... this is very true for the investor who does not put interest earned to work. if you seek out opportunity for each interest received at the same rate of 11.2% you will end up with 21m at the end of 7 years the game is all about compounding yrs rate P int p+t 1 11.2% 10,000,000.00 1,120,000.00 11,120,000.00 2 11.2% 11,120,000.00 1,245,440.00 12,365,440.00 3 11.2% 12,365,440.00 1,384,929.28 13,750,369.28 4 11.2% 13,750,369.28 1,540,041.36 15,290,410.64 5 11.2% 15,290,410.64 1,712,525.99 17,002,936.63 6 11.2% 17,002,936.63 1,904,328.90 18,907,265.53 7 11.2% 18,907,265.53 2,117,613.74 21,024,879.27 |

Godlylifeoneart: That was the hey days of Nigeria economy. When there was a country. That N40, 000 could also be worth N3 billions before the advent of modern Lutocracy. (democracy). When Nigeria National debt was negligible. When Agriculture was the main rock of Nigeria economy. When technocrats were at the helm. When tribalism was minimal. When Nepotism and favoritism exist only in the mind. When there was no civil war. When pa Emma was still negotiating with God on being born a Nigerian. I wonder if this generation can still see value in Nigerian currency in our time. this generation will. principles hardly change As it was in the beginning, so shall it be, world with out end. |

thesilentone: Despite the hullabaloo caused by CoVid, Please can anyone enlighten us on the implications of Dangote Cement issuing their first bond to finance medium term debts. What will be the impact on current shareholdings? Is it a good move or otherwise? I'm sure this thread is in place for learning, not just scaremongering or optimism.
Chiefs: @Rabbioracle @emmaneulewumi @onegentleguy @yom2 @Bombooclad @Mcy i see posetive impact. Subscribers to the bond are not given shares so no dilution will occur however impact will be on earnings and by extension dividend if yield/interest on bond is higher than interest paid previously. this too is very unlikely because of current low money market rates. I think earning /dividend will be positively impacted |
