danjumakolo: Very true. But winning in school is directly proportional to winning in life. It's an upper hand. Some first class graduates work for third class Senators and business men. Some are even jobless. It's very unfortunate if you give everything to school and forget about life |

vickodedon: Can you give me more info? Education in Germany is totally free. Some Scandinavian countries also offer free education. Even though education is tuition free scholarships also exists which will cover all other costs. I like Germany because it's an authority in the world. Imagine applying for a job with a German Masters degree. If you get the scheghen visa you can visit other 25 European countries visa free. The average cost of up keep in Germany is about €720, but if you Sabi manage. You can get students jobs without a work permit. Also there are other European countries like Lithuania that you can survive on about €250 per month which is very cheap. If interested, your search should begin here mastersportal.com Danke |

Just do Masters from a reputable university abroad and your 2.2 will be ignored. Many countries offer tuition free education. Studying abroad doesn't have to be expensive. |

DeutschMariano: TRANSCRIPT ALERT! So had my interview on the 10th (yesterday). Lodged at sappers Lodge inside bony cantonment, very nice, spacious and comfortable room. With a lounge by a mini beach too, somewhere to cool your head before your interview the next day I had to set 2 alarms each on two of my phones, before my village people use me shine . By around 11pm, I remember say I no get WAEC scratch card.. Nsogbu! I quickly go online go buy am. I woke up by 4am, left the lodge by 5am, got to the embassy by 5:15. I went to print the scratch card I bought. Those guys for embassy use me shine. Collect 1k for my hand just to print on page document. Anyway, I see am as price wey I gats pay for my carelessness. Please triple check your documents to see if they're complete before the day of your interview o, unless you wan dash those guys money. I was the first at the embassy. Our appointment letters were stamped and signed on. Oga Paulinus came by few minutes past 6. I been no know say na him be the almighty oga Paulinus o.. Na the guy for my back tell me He started attending to us by 6:45. Attended to Schengen people first, before long term. He called the first 3 people, asked us to remove our documents and keep them on the chair. The 3rd was wasting time na so oga Paulinus change am for him o, tell my guy make e go for back of line. For my mind, this man na me and you today . He collected our passport, put the appointment letter inside, placed it on a desk, then took the 2 application forms and placed them side by side. Then he started calling other documents one after the other, 1 original and 2 photocopies. We were done within 5 minutes, na so oga Paulinus begin commend us o That we were the fastest since he started working there. For our 3 mind we dey feel like James bond Paulinus doesn't really have a problem, contrary to what I've been reading about him here, he's just too disciplined and expects your to be fast and smart. Do exactly what he asked you to do and do it fast enough and you won't have problems with him. We were checked in and got to the visa section. I was interviewed by the fair lady in room 2. She was friendly. She asked for my passport and application form.
VO: where and what are you going for? Me: Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, Bachelors in information engineering VO: Bachelors? And you booked category A? Me: I have a bachelors certificate. VO: What did you study? Me: Electronic and Computer Engineering VO: it's not related to what you're going for now? Me: It is VO: So why are you going for it? Me: answer VO: Give me your application fee VO: have to funded? Me: yes I have. VO: which bank?
She captured my finger prints, then asked me to pick up the phone.
VO: why this course? VO: why Germany? VO: why not US or UK? VO: what do you know about Germany? I use this one shine small I dey talk she just dey type dey nod her head.
VO: plans after your studies? VO: that'll be all.
All in all, it went well. Just be yourself. As for oga Paulinus, forget everything you've heard about him here, just be on your best behaviour that day.
The wait for AM begins!
It'll all end in praise!! Is this in Lagos or Abuja |
Family › Re: Should I Stay With My Parents And Invest Or Should I Leave? Advice Needed by Xeexeex: 1:04am On Jul 12, 2019 |
Hullabaloon: Guys I need advice on what to do at this point in my life.
Got a job, in my state, place of work not far from parent's house (rented flat).
I've managed to save up to 400k so far, I've always longed to move away from my parent's house and get my own place, but they'd always kick against it, citing that there's no need for that since work is close to home. Left for them, they'd like me to stay till I plan for marriage whenever that will be; Lol, parents sha.
I'm already 28 years old, so I think it's time.
My colleagues already yab me anytime they get the opportunity, they love reminding me that I still dey chop mama thank you.
Problem is, the job security at my place of work is not that encouraging. I have older colleagues who have been in the company for 8 to 15 years, I've also, within my short period (less than a year now) seen about 5 workers sacked, it's a place where any thing can happen at any time.
So, should I invest this 400k in renting and furnishing an apartment with the constant uncertainty hovering over the job,and no side income yet, or should I continue staying with my parents while I invest the money in a side business which I don't know how it'll fare...
Now, frankly speaking, I'm not cut out for business, it's not my forte at all, so starting any at all comes with great risk but I still feel the need for another source of income.
On the flip side, Staying with my parents is not even as economical as most would think. Ever since I got the job, parents no dey gree say them get money again. All the bills are on me.
I'm just confused.
Salary fluctuates between 60 to 80k Oga I'll advise you to buy land. Stay with your parents meanwhile. If something happens and you lose the job the price of the land would have appreciated |

Hadampson: So i could say that i started learning german because of a long time dream of mine being able to speak German and maybe someday live in Germany or any German speaking countries. Study, work and get to know the culture in a better way.
Learning german hasn't been easy but i love it and enjoy so very much
Forget about German is hard to learn. No language is difficult if you have the enthusiasm to learn it.
Though, German is hard to learn because of its complicated grammar and syntax but no language is easy or hard
I believe the language you have least interest in is the hardest while the one you are interested in is the easiest. Hadampson I'm feeling your posts on Germany and I'm following them properly. Please I need some info about Aachen city and Rwth Aachen university |

twentyk: Hi, I finished with a Third Class degree in a Federal university and my question is, can I do masters or other higher qualifications.... It is better you prioritize looking for masters abroad. There are some international courses in some countries which are tuition free and a degree from a reputable university abroad will suck the air out of the room of your third class. More focus will be on your acquired masters. |
