I think I listened to the commentators carefully and they said it was marginally offside.
But to me Wydad over reacted, by abandoning the game, they could seek other means of protesting.
I feel they might be banned of fined.

Not sure is the ref. Because the decision was fair.
I don't think so because if he had looked at VAR very well he would know that it was a clear goal and that was why it took them time to decide. The commentators confirmed it . this is a dark day in African football, even the CAF president became confused

Nairaland / General / NJC Recalls Six Out Of Eight Suspended Judges by XFive: 10:15am On Jun 04, 2017
NJC Recalls Six Out Of Eight Suspended Judges seven months after eight judges were suspended, the National Judicial Council (NJC) has directed six judges to resume duty as judicial officers effective Wednesday, June 7.

The decision followed a meeting of the NJC to review the suspension of the said judges after a raid of their residence by the Department of State Services (DSS).

The Council noted that out of the eight suspended judicial officers, only three have been charged to court.

They are Justice Sylvester Ngwuta of the Supreme Court of Nigeria; Justice Adeniyi Ademola of the Federal High Court; and Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia of the Federal High Court.

The NJC also noted that the trial of Justice Ademola had been concluded and he has been discharged and acquitted of the charges filed against him.

In view of this, the NJC decided that the various heads of court should direct the other judicial officers to resume duty, as there were backlogs of cases in their various court for the past eight months.

The judges recalled by the Council are Justice Ademola, Justice John Okoro of the Supreme Court, and Justice Uwani Aji of the Court of Appeal.

Others include Justice Hydiazira Nganjiwa of the Federal High Court, Justice Musa Kurya of the Federal High Court, and Justice Agbadu Fishim of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria.

His bail bond is $1.5million, where will he get that kind of money from? Nigeria is better because there is no way a woman of 47years will come and tell Nigerian police that a Man of 53years raped her. I blame him on the other side because he refuse to get close and was just staying on his own

Family / Identical Twins Give Birth At The Same Time by XFive: 1:46am On Jul 06, 2016
Identical twins Sarah Mariuz and Leah Rodgers have shared everything from clothes to toys over the years, but never did the sisters think they would give birth on the same day – let alone at the exact same time.

The 35-year-old women both welcomed their firstborn children into the world on June 30 at 1:18 a.m. in their respective cities. Rodgers gave birth to Reid Joseph in Denver, Colorado, one hour before her sister's baby, Samantha Lynne, was born in La Jolla, California.

"It's that magical twin connection I suppose," Mariuz tells PEOPLE. "There have just been certain things in our life where things just match up – it's odd."

She adds, "We didn't plan being pregnant at the same time. But our journeys aligned, even giving birth! Twins have a special bond, it's hard to explain."

The sisters told each other they were pregnant at a Thanksgiving family get-together.

"I wanted it to be a surprise, but when she showed up at the door – it was the funniest thing – I opened the door, welcomed her into the home, but as soon as I saw her, I knew she was pregnant too," Rodgers tells PEOPLE. "I can't explain it, I just knew. My prediction was that she was five days behind me, and it turned out her due date was four days after me."

When Mariuz and Rodgers exchanged ultrasounds they "laughed so hard."

"I was like 'Oh my gosh, shut up!' " says Rodgers. "We stood there and giggled and our family was in complete shock. It's just one of those things that's totally possible, but when it's confirmed, it's so crazy."

The sisters also celebrated their pregnancy months together – giving each other daily text updates and phone calls – and even had a joint baby shower with pink and blue cakes.

"It's a really cool thing to be able to share," says Rodgers. "The adventure will only continue as our babies share the same birthday like we did! We can't wait for them to grow up together."

Rodgers says her family started a group text thread when the two women went into labor around the same time.

"When my sister's husband got the text about Reed being born at 1:18 a.m. he apparently shouted at the doctors, he couldn't believe it!" Rodgers says with a laugh. "It was literally the exact same time."

"It's just really special," says Mariuz.

Reid Joseph and Samantha Lynne haven't met yet, but the sisters can't wait to bring their kids together.

"I'm sure they will have a deep bond because of their birthday timing," says Mariuz.

Politics / Last Words Of Ken Saro Wiwa by XFive: 11:50am On Jun 05, 2016
THE LAST STATEMENT OF KEN SARO WIWA AT THE MILITARY TRIBUNAL IN 1995

My lord, since my arrest on the 21st of May, 1994 I have been subjected to physical and mental torture, held incommunicado and denied food for weeks and medical attention for months.

My seventy-four year old mother has been whipped and arrested, my wife beaten and threatened with detention, the three telephone lines to my office and residence cut and the they remain cut to this day, my office and home have been ransacked on three different occasions and personal and family property, official files and documents taken away without documentation.

I have been calumniated in the press and on satellite television before the whole world by a Rivers State government anxious to prejudice the mind of the public and to convince that public of my guilt even before trial. Only recently, before the United Nations Committee for the Eradication of Racism and Discrimination in Geneva, an official delegation of the Federal Government which included the Special Adviser on Legal Affairs to the Head of State, Professor Yazudu, declared me responsible for the murders which are the subject of this Tribunal, even before Tribunal has found against me or anyone else.

The fact that a case of homicide is being charged before a Tribunal set up under Decree No. 2 of 1987 speaks for itself. I am aware of the many strictures laid against the decree and this Tribunal by local and international observers. All the same, I have followed the proceedings here with keen and detailed interest, not only because I am charged before this Tribunal, but also because, as a writer, I am a custodian of the conscience of society. I regret that the legal counsel I freely chose, Gani Fawhimi, the human rights hero and pride of this country, was forced to withdraw. His withdrawal has denied credibility to this
trial.

With the permission of the Tribunal, I would now like to make a filmic representation which will graphically demonstrate all that I have said here and amplify the details thereof.

My lord, we all stand before history. I am a man of peace, of ideas. Appalled by the denigrating poverty of my people who live on a richly-endowed land, distressed by their political marginalization and economic strangulation, angered by the devastation of their land, their ultimate heritage, anxious to preserve their right to life and to a decent living, and determined to usher to this country as a whole a fair and just democratic system which protects everyone and every ethnic group and gives us all a valid claim to human civilization, I have devoted all my intellectual and material resources, my very life, to a cause in which I have total belief and from which I cannot be blackmailed or intimidated.

I have no doubt at all about the ultimate success of my cause, no matter the trials and tribulations which I and those who believe with me may encounter on our journey. Nor imprisonment nor death can stop our ultimate victory.

I repeat that we all stand before history. I and my colleagues are not the only ones on trial. Shell is here on trial and it is as well that it is represented by counsel said to be holding a watching brief. The company has, indeed, ducked this particular trial, but its day will surely come and the lessons learnt here may prove useful to it for there is no doubt in my mind that the ecological war the company has waged in the delta will be called to question sooner than later and the crimes of that war duly punished. The crime of the company's dirty wars against the Ogoni people will also be punished.

On trial also is the Nigerian nation, its present rulers and all those who assist them. Any nation which can do to the weak and disadvantaged what the Nigerian nation has done to the Ogoni, loses a claim to independence and to freedom from outside
influence.

I am not one of those who shy away from protesting injustice and oppression, arguing that they are expected from a military regime. The military do not act alone. They are supported by a gaggle of politicians, lawyers, judges, academics and businessmen, all of them hiding under the claim that they are only doing their duty, men and women too afraid to wash their pants of their urine. We all stand on trial, my lord, for by our actions we have denigrated our country and jeopardized the future of our children.

As we subscribe to the sub-normal and accept double standards, as we lie and cheat openly, as we protect injustice and oppression, we empty our classrooms, degrade our hospitals, fill our stomachs with hunger and elect to make ourselves the slaves of those who subscribe to higher standards, pursue the truth, and honour justice, freedom and hard work.

I predict that the scene here will be played and replayed by generations yet unborn. Some have already cast themselves in the role of villains, some are tragic victims, some still have a chance to redeem themselves. The choice is for each individual.

I predict that a denouement of the riddle of the Niger delta will soon come. The agenda is being set at this trial. Whether the peaceful ways I have favoured will prevail depends on what the oppressor decides, what signals it sends out to the waiting public.

In my innocence of the false charges I face here, in my utter conviction, I call upon the Ogoni people, the peoples of the Niger delta, and the oppressed ethnic minorities of Nigeria to stand up now and fight fearlessly and peacefully for their rights. History is on their side, God is on their side. For the Holy Quran says in Sura 42, verse 41: "All those who fight, when oppressed incur no guilt, but Allah shall punish the oppressor." Come the day.

Nairaland / General / Ikpeazu Aba Road Construction Propaganda by XFive: 12:16pm On Sep 21, 2015
For the past couple of days the Ikpeazu propaganda machinery has been at it again. This time the mendacious bloviating that has been associated with this administration have given way to gross irresponsibility .

We are being bombarded with news of the completion of a 400 meters of road in Aba with cement when in reality only one side of the road has been completed as the picture they posted on Facebook indicates.

In other words the road is half completed and the administration is already boasting and patting itself on the back for this enormous feat of modern technology in road construction.

As usual the many sycophants in Abia state are already jumping on the bandwagon of showering accolades on the administration for this miraculous invention of using cement in place of asphalt as if this is the first time we are hearing of cement being used for road construction.

This is the same thing that happened during the Ochendo administration whereby he started boasting about completed projects that were still on the drawing stage and had not taken off the ground.

As expected his praise singers did their utmost to orchestrate the propaganda. What happened to those completed projects today and the money budgeted for them?

It appears this administration is borrowing from the Ochendo playbook on how to deceive the public with fake news of completed projects. It is like what the magicians do, “you see it this minute, the next minute it is gone”.

The roads they claim they have completed today may not be eventually completed the next time you see them again, but by then of course the purpose of creating the news has been achieved which is the desire for public and political relevance and acceptance.

With regards to the use of cement instead of asphalt, there’s nothing wrong with it except that I believe it is a pre-emptive attempt to prepare our minds about the exorbitant cost of the Aba road construction project when they eventually deem it fit to inform us of how much the projecting is costing the state government as well as the name of the presently nameless construction company.

My advice is that our people should be suspect of anything this administration says. They should not be deceived by the pictures they see in the newspaper pages or Facebook.

The temporary Ikpeazu administration on their part should do well to wait until they actually finish a project before tooting their horn. As the professional loud – mouths continue to assault our tender sensibilities with their propaganda, I humbly ask this question, what is 400 meters of road out of the thousands of dilapidated, decaying and pothole filled meters of roads in Aba?

Why don’t you finish the job first, tell us how much it cost and which construction company did the job before boasting about it.

Nairaland / General / Max Gesner Beauvoir, Supreme Chief Of The Voodoo Religion, Died At The Age Of 79 by XFive: 3:02am On Sep 14, 2015
Max Gesner Beauvoir, the supreme chief of the voodoo religion, died at the age of 79 in the Haitian capital, his relatives announced.

Beauvoir, a biochemist by training, was named in 2008 the "National Ati," or spiritual guide for voodoo practitioners. The title was created to defend Haiti's historic religion from increased attacks from some Protestant churches and Evangelical preachers.

In 2010, influential US televangelist Pat Robertson stirred controversy when he claimed that the earthquake that struck Haiti that year and killed more than 200,000 people had a demonic origin.

Robertson claimed that the quake was caused by "a pact to the devil" that Haitians swore in 1804 when they rose against the French colonizers to obtain independence.

Beauvoir worked hard to counter negative stereotypes of the religion and explain voodoo to foreigners, and even opened the religion's temple to the public during important religious ceremonies.

At the start of Haiti's 2010 cholera epidemic, scores of voodoo practitioners were lynched by people who accused them of creating a powder that spread the disease.

Voodoo was part of the culture of the African that were enslaved and taken to Haiti in the 1600s and 1700s.

Banned during the French colonization period, those who practice voodoo seek to engage with supernatural spirits who protect followers and bring them into contact with an invisible world.

The ceremonies include rituals copied from Christian rites, though the religion is routinely attacked by many Christian churches.

Foreign Affairs / Gaddafi's Last Speech!!! by XFive: 8:35am On Sep 10, 2015
In the name of Allah, the ...beneficent, the merciful...

For 40 years, or was it longer, I can't remember, I did all I could to give people houses, hospitals, schools, and when they were hungry, I gave them food. I even made Benghazi into farmland from the desert, I stood up to attacks from that cowboy Ronald Reagan, when he killed my adopted orphaned daughter, he was trying to kill me, instead he killed that poor innocent child. Then I helped my brothers and sisters from Africa with money for the African Union.

I did all I could to help people Understand the concept of real democracy, where people's committees ran our country. But that was never enough, as some told me, even people who had 10 room homes, new suits and furniture, were never satisfied, as selfish as they were they wanted more. They told Americans and other visitors, that they needed "democracy" and "freedom" never realizing it was a cut throat system, where the biggest dog eats the rest, but they were enchanted with those words, never realizing that in America, there was no free medicine, no free hospitals, no free housing, no free education and no free food, except when people had to beg or go to long lines to get soup.

No, no matter what I did, it was never enough for some, but for others, they knew I was the son of Gamal Abdel Nasser, the only true Arab and Muslim leader we've had since Salah-al-Deen, when he claimed the Suez Canal for his people, as I claimed Libya, for my people, it was his footsteps I tried to follow, to keep my people free from colonial domination - from thieves who would steal from us.

Now, I am under attack by the biggest force in military history, my little African son, Obama wants to kill me, to take away the freedom of our country, to take away our free housing, our free medicine, our free education, our free food, and replace it with American style thievery, called "capitalism" ,but all of us in the Third World know what that means, it means corporations run the countries, run the world, and the people suffer.
So, there is no alternative for me, I must make my stand, and if Allah wishes, I shall die by following His path, the path that has made our country rich with farmland, with food and health, and even allowed us to help our African and Arab brothers and sisters.

I do not wish to die, but if it comes to that, to save this land, my people, all the thousands who are all my children, then so be it.

Let this testament be my voice to the world, that I stood up to crusader attacks of NATO, stood up to cruelty, stoop up to betrayal, stood up to the West and its colonialist ambitions, and that I stood with my African brothers, my true Arab and Muslim brothers, as a beacon of light.

When others were building castles, I lived in a modest house, and in a tent. I never forgot my youth in Sirte, I did not spend our national treasury foolishly, and like Salah-al-Deen, our great Muslim leader, who rescued Jerusalem for Islam, I took little for myself...

In the West, some have called me "mad", "crazy", but they know the truth yet continue to lie, they know that our land is independent and free, not in the colonial grip, that my vision, my path, is, and has been clear and for my people and that I will fight to my last breath to keep us free, may Allah almighty help us to remain faithful and free.

-Mu'ummar Qaddafi.
May Allah 4give and grant you with Jannatul firdaus. Ameeen
