The bolded got me laughing , we are thesame in that aspect, i'd rather do charity instead of paying tithe. Barrytone: Fortunately, I still do everything I should be doing. My wife is supportive, I still run my educational foundation. I still support the less privileged, was able to send palliative to my village this season. They is nothing I wish God should help me achieve that I don't achieve yet I meet up my target before may every year. I don't pay tithe. |

It doesn't worth it, it is better to leave your money in your savings account. Barrytone: Am saving my capital and uses the upfront to cater for my family. At low rate with huge capital, you can comfortably pay fees and maintain house and drink beer, its still enough. I have out grown my salary, i don't touch my salary. I run with the interest. |

On point! emmanuelewumi: Peter needs a life insurance policy, if he dies today the standard of living of his family will drastically nosedive in less than 2 years.
If John dies today his family will still maintain the same or better standard of living.
Reason why investment income is very important.
Also important to invest part of our active income eg salaries, commission etc into investments so as to earn investment income |

Thanks for your advise, the part of the world where i live is very good in agribusiness and i am willing to learn here on the best way to do it, i actually have a cousin in Nigeria who is into it but in a small scale with about 5000 fishes, he said the business is so lucrative and have explained to me a bit how they do it, infact the profit margin he quoted was something insane that made me thinking if it is right to go into it while in Nigeria as i have lived most of my life abroad and planning to relocate to Nigeria soonest. emmanuelewumi: Try and learn the business, there are lots of tricks in Agribusiness.
When you are starting, please start small, learn and grow. |

As someone who have lived abroad for up to 20yrs, i will advise you to stay back in Nigeria and invest that money in your business if you are into business, if you are not into business you can invest it in MMF and continue to do what gave you the 15M, abroad is not always rosy as most people in Nigeria think. afroxyz: But is it advisable for one to spend 10 -15m to migrate to Canada to start all over again or just invest here and continue the hustle? |

Your wisdom and experience is mind blowing, I salute! emmanuelewumi: Some people have time but don't have money eg the unemployed
Some have money but don't have time eg highly paid professionals, businessmen
Some people don't have time and don't have money eg lowly paid workers and most people in the rat race
Some people have money and also have time. Those are the financialy independent.
Having good health is very important. But having good might not give one a long life. If you don't have time and money. Other things like stress, hunger, accident can kill a healthy man who does not have time and money in the cause of the rat race.
I have an in law, who was diagnosed of diabetes and high blood pressure at the age of 38, but the man died this year at the age of 80 because of these resources time and money. |

Can you send link to the business section Gokoyer0: If you can supervise/monitor your business for a minimum of 80%, then go to business section and start reading those threads that arouse your interest. Pls beware of scammers! You will get some clues on how to start establishing your own business empires. You can start small btw.
You can check out car washing( good location), real estate (start buying not-so-expensive lands and develop them to reasonable level if there will be land grabbers), farming, transport business/higher purchase and etc.
Remember also that global recession is coming and it's important to be careful in choosing business to venture into at this period. |

I don't know this before, but i think there must be a way they did it because it clearly stated 360days on the certificate emmanuelewumi: Commercial papers are usually for 270 days and below. They should be able to work something out. After the initial 260 days, they will buy for another 100 days in the secondary market |
Investment › Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by XiaoLi: 3:10pm On Apr 17, 2020 |
Ok i will check them out hopefully next time i go to Nigeria, they offered 260 days but i insisted it must be 365 days since i dont want the funds in my account soon and doesn't have time sending email instructions too. Finally we arrived at 360days. I was still able to get dollars at 358.5 then thanks to the gurus here who speculated that Naira may be devalued. emmanuelewumi: Talking about soft copies of the offer documents. Try and get in touch with them personally at FBN Quest Merchant Bank or FBN Quest Asset Management. They are at the same location on Keffi Street South West Ikoyi Lagos.
What is the duration of this Commercial papers?
Should not have exceed 9 months |

Glad it is safe, i got 4%, they initially offered 3.5% but i insisted they make it 4% since another bank offered 4% on a usd denominated investment (not really) which they later agreed. emmanuelewumi: It is very safe, what is the rate on the commercial paper |

Maybe you are referring to Eurobonds |

Is FBN dollar denominated commercial paper through FBN QUEST safe? emmanuelewumi: They are Commercial papers, they pay between 6% to 7%. They are from 90 days to 270 days
I think the CFOs of those businesses are using the commercial papers to liquidate their existing loans which are currently between 15% and 18%.
So that they can directly get cheaper funds from the investing public for the running of the businesses. There is so much liquidity in the system |

The minimum investment value i don't know as i have already invested. I got 4% for the interest and investment was done first week of March. My RM said that it is First Bank offering the Commercial Paper and it is risk free same as treasury bills, I just want gurus here to help look into it as those RM cannot be trusted sometimes. damilola1978: what was the minimum investment value and at what percentage?
On a general note FBNQuest are like brokers, you would need to do your own research about the company offering the commercial papers to know their credit rating and how good their balance sheets have been for atleast 2 years |
