They don't need to engage with Patience Jonathan. The issue is that of excessive waiting while on trial. All that is needed is for the attorney general to fast track or discontinue the case. Even if they are found guilty, the length of time they have spent behind bars is more than the punishment(about three years for theft). |
Nigeria doesn't need to do anything. Any move we make will be a negative for us. Let the big boys deal with Trump. |
LordBiden:Don't mind the dunce. He has been lying everywhere about high import tariff and when you challenge him, he runs away. Most Trump worshippers don't know that the Trump tariff board was complete fabrication and has nothing to do with tariff but trade surplus. |
Nonexisting1:You are lying, Zimbabwe does not put 50% on American goods and the US tariff on Zibabwe is not Zero. |
This won't change anything. It was never a reciprocal tariff. Unless Zimbabwe wants to stop all exports to the US, nothing will change. |
surgical:What has happened to him is the outsized salary and influence they get from the appointment. The issue with these kind of guys is that while they are smart, they lack ideology and hence could serve as tool to anybody who can afford them. |
SendoSendal:They are not different from the average Nigerian politicians. No loyalty, unless you hold a massive leverage over them. Their loyalty was sealed immediately Fubara illegally declared their seats vacant. There was no going back after that. Rumor has it, Fubara was buying over the lawmakers one after the other but the secret got out after he attempted to buy the fifth lawmaker. So, he successfully bought four, if word didn't get out, it is most likely majority of them would have been bought over. |
What are you waiting for? Hop on the next available flight to enjoy $1 lunch. This guy was comparing $10 to $1, how does that make sense since Nigeria spends Naira and not Dollar. He should have compared $10 to #10. |
Bullhari:That is a big if. How do you expect them to face only crimes when there are many "sabos" to be taken care of? |
EmmyMaestro:No, Trump is not in charge of visa denial. They went to the UK most likely because American visa takes a very long time to process. |
richie240:I don't blame you, some of you have outsourced your thinking to external tools and propagandists. A: You stole my pen B: Oh, no, I am being blackmailed. You: Stop the blackmail. That is a kind of interaction I would expect from 10 year olds, not full grown adults. An adult would have asked, so you are being blackmailed, to do what? |
SmartEnergyng:No, that is not how language work. You don't take an establish word and try to change its meaning to suit your narrative because the actual act itself carries less emotive value. There can be no blackmail without a payment or reward demanded from the subject. If I accuse someone of burgling my house, that's not a blackmail, that's an accusation. Accusations are not the same as blackmail. You guys need better communication handlers. |
@ SmartEnergyng( Can you define blackmail? |
obiekunie01:Trump is actually a minus for the US. If he didn't exist, fewer Americans would have died from Covid and the economy won't be tanking now. a President that got and overwhelming vote as has never been seen in the history of American democratic elections and you got the audacity to call him an idiot!See. All you Trump worshippers have no brain. Trump didn't even win the majority of the votes, mere 49% is what you are hyping. What should FDR and Reagan say? Oh, never mind, you are too dumb to understand the reference. It comes with the territory of extremely unintelligent guy who thinks the measure of smartness is how much fraud you can get away with. Pls tell me sir, how many people in your entire lineage has ever won an election as a local government chairman in a shithole country talk more of a civilized nation! and yet a nonentity like you! a nincompoop like you that i am very sure no one knows you outside your nuclear family, and yet you have the temerity to call a global King a fool! Why are you crying? Oh, he won an election, so he must be a very smart man. How dull can you guys be? A crooked businessman who never earn an honest dime in his entire life. He moves from one con to the other. May God have mercy on you and your Type-A kind of stvpidity.I pity your kids. Imagine inheriting your kind of brain? |
SalamRushdie:Oh my! Do you guys even think? What is the benefit of tariff aside putting more money in the government's pocket. Perhaps, you are thinking of manufacturing jobs, majority aren't coming back even with a 100% tariff and those that will do will take years to have any meaningful impact. Meanwhile, American average earners will pay higher for goods regardless of where they are manufactured and hundreds of thousands jobs will be lost at best. How the idiotic Trump manage to gain a god-like status is something to be studied. |
ivandragon:Restitution for what? It is a case of Nigerian police vs some suspects. I never knew Patience was the IPO, commissioner or IG. Also, the security agencies in nigeria need serious overhaul starting with the dismissal of all officers who actively aided and abetted the illegal detention of these people. The problem with this emotional response is that it only works for a particular case and then the issue continues without considering the underlying problem. Without any evidence you declared their detention illegal like most Nigerians do. So, any opportunity to reform is lost because you guys assume their detention is already illegal so nothing to change. But their detention is completely legal even though unfortunate. When those in positions of authority know they will be held accountable for thier actions, they are more likely to do the right thing. There is no account here. Were they detained according to a court order? Absolutely, so unless you plan on getting the judge removed, nobody can be held for anything. Majority of those awaiting trial for long time in jail have nothing to do with politicians or powerful people. Just a case of two fighting can cost a person up to 2 years in jail awaiting trial if not properly managed by the suspect or the suspect is too poor to afford a lawyer. |
ozo13:Patience is not a judge and neither is she a president or governor. Nobody can hold another in jail, only the police and the court can. |
musicwriter:I hope you have tens of thousands of supporters who will follow you to withdraw their support. It is funny that you think Tinubu cares about "support". He only cares about votes or more importantly, declared results. |
Allogic: Allogic:See this dullards with comprehension problems. Yes, Sanusi don't know who he is dealing with. How does this statement of fact rile you up so much that you start frothing from the mouth? Only an idiot will interpret such statement as a praise or insult. lawrenzooo:The thing is, Abacha has always been a ruthless megalomaniac, so whatever he did wasn't a shock to anybody. Sanusi abused his office for political gains when he was the CBN governor and got away with it. Tinubu acts like mafia, losing any territory to non-loyal goons is a sign of weakness and would not be tolerated. |
Heart3030:The large uneducated whites do not usually vote for anybody and when they do, their votes goes mostly to conservatives. But Trump was a different beast, he got them to turn out in large numbers than previous candidates. Voting demographics is public, no need to assume what you don't know. |
Sanusi don jam trouble. These people don't know who they are dealing with. They probably think it is another Jonathan. |
Classic Republicans know that Trump is a lunatic. He is neither a conservative nor liberal, he believes in nothing apart from his self delusions. They support and encourage him because he help them with voters turnout with the large uneducated white demographic. They were riding the beast. Little do they know that they may end up in its belly. |
GRACEGLORY:You obviously don't know what you are talking about. Don't regurgitate what you read on SM. it also sets the stage for the president to implement the largest tax cuts that he promised the Americans. The "tax cut" is for multi-millionaires and billionaires. Any average earner will lose more as their expenses rise via tariff and indirect taxes. The tariff is actually the largest tax increase on Americans ever unless you are rich. The cherry on the cake is the ultimate destruction of US dollar global power. Unfortunately, Trump will likely be out of office by the time the chickens come home to roost. I believe Mr. President got a plan. This is not a matter of faith but reality. Trump is a one trick pony who can't plan one hour ahead. His handlers knows this and they are milking him to the maximum. |
DMerciful:I blame the NJC for this problem. Any judge that interferes with supreme court pronouncemens such as the internal affairs of a party should be suspended or expelled. Even if they can't suspend judges, the plaintiff should be heavily fined minimum 100 million Naira if such frivolous suits ever get to the supreme court. By the time one or two politicians gets burned, such cases will no longer end up in court. If not, politicians will continue will continue to bastardize the justice system while important cases will be delayed due to political workloads of judges. |
ClearFlair:Would such a law make sense to you? How do you even measure it? |
NothingDoMe:No, he can't have it both ways. Either shale production is sustained or the price of oil remains high. Shale oil is unprofitable at lower oil price. If it goes much lower(below $60), most US shale producers will run out of business. |
Aonkuuse:What kind of pointless question is this? Are you claiming ignorance of the atrocities committed by herdsmen? |
Chienex24:The US has positive balance of trade with the UK and some other countries, yet, it slapped UK and those positive ones with 10% tarrif. This isn't about fair or unfair. It is just a childish guy trying to implement his fantasy. Unfortunately, the public and not him will bear the consequence. |
Hemanwel:US respect comes from being tactical and not behaving like 10 year old bully. Trump and his supporters are too dumb to know this. As of today, no country respects the US except few dictators who pretend publicly for their selfish interest. |
joeyswift:There is nothing to negotiate. No sane country thinks the tariff is fair. Those are weak and inconsequential countries pretending to be nice out of fear. |
Iweakbro:US has a trade surplus with UK, UK still got slammed with 10% tarrif. Just, admit that Trump your god is a complete slowpoke. |
Bringbackmandat:No, the naive Yahya Bello was the arrow head. |
