PoliticsRe: NBA Engages Patience Jonathan Over Ex-workers Six Years Detention by Xisnin(m): 4:23pm On Apr 06, 2025
They don't need to engage with Patience Jonathan.

The issue is that of excessive waiting while on trial.
All that is needed is for the attorney general to fast track or discontinue the case.

Even if they are found guilty, the length of time they have spent behind bars
is more than the punishment(about three years for theft).

Nigeria doesn't need to do anything.
Any move we make will be a negative for us.
Let the big boys deal with Trump.

LordBiden:
Salam the chief trump butt licker. grin

Your master trump is on the track to sending the US economy into recession.

As of yesterday over 6 trillion dollars wiped out from stock market.

His MAGA slogan will soon change to make Americans cry again by the time cost of living start biting as a result of retaliatory tariffs.
Don't mind the dunce.
He has been lying everywhere about high import tariff and when
you challenge him, he runs away.

Most Trump worshippers don't know that the Trump tariff board
was complete fabrication and has nothing to do with tariff but trade surplus.
Foreign AffairsRe: Reciprocal Tariffs: Zimbabwe Suspends All Tariffs On American Imports by Xisnin(m): 2:43pm On Apr 06, 2025
Nonexisting1:
When American goods enter Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe put a 50% tariff on them but when Zimbabweans goods enter America, America puts zero tariff on them plus all the aids they give to Zimbabwe. Now Trump says he will increase the tariff on Zimbabwe goods that enter America by 25% to be at least half of what Zimbabwe charges them because America is being ripped off. He said if Zimbabwe wants America to drop the tariff hike, they too should drop their own tariff which is what Zimbabwe just did.
You are lying, Zimbabwe does not put 50% on American goods
and the US tariff on Zibabwe is not Zero.
Foreign AffairsRe: Reciprocal Tariffs: Zimbabwe Suspends All Tariffs On American Imports by Xisnin(m): 2:42pm On Apr 06, 2025
This won't change anything.
It was never a reciprocal tariff.
Unless Zimbabwe wants to stop all exports to the US, nothing will change.

I am just surprised at the guy,he is a very brilliant guy
Before coming to government, you can see his brilliant contribution on TV, people centric approach
But since he join government he has been saying dumb things, that I begin to wonder, what has happened to him
What has happened to him is the outsized salary and influence they get from the appointment.
The issue with these kind of guys is that while they are smart, they lack ideology and hence
could serve as tool to anybody who can afford them.

How these guys have been able to maintain absolute loyalty to Wike, despite all possible offers from Fubara, is really worth studying

After all, the same way Wike funded their election, was the same way he funded Fubara's election. So they could also have betrayed Wike and move with Fubara

How they have maintained absolute loyalty should be a Case study in Schools of Public Governance.
They are not different from the average Nigerian politicians.
No loyalty, unless you hold a massive leverage over them.

Their loyalty was sealed immediately Fubara illegally declared their seats vacant.
There was no going back after that.

Rumor has it, Fubara was buying over the lawmakers one after the other but the secret
got out after he attempted to buy the fifth lawmaker.
So, he successfully bought four, if word didn't get out, it is most likely majority
of them would have been bought over.

Hop on the next available flight to enjoy $1 lunch.

This guy was comparing $10 to $1, how does that make sense since
Nigeria spends Naira and not Dollar.
He should have compared $10 to #10.

Blackmail, in this context, is not just about threats
it’s about manipulating public sympathy to escape accountability.

When a public official throws around serious accusations like sexual harassment—not through legal channels, not with evidence, but in the heat of political consequencesthat’s not justice. That’s blackmail.

It’s the act of saying, “If you discipline me, I’ll paint the institution as corrupt, sexist, or abusive—even if I have no proof.”

Weaponizing trauma—real or fabricated—as a negotiating tool to reverse disciplinary action is the very definition of emotional and political blackmail.

And if this tactic succeeds, no institution will ever be able to enforce its rules again.
No, that is not how language work.
You don't take an establish word and try to change its meaning to suit your narrative
because the actual act itself carries less emotive value.
There can be no blackmail without a payment or reward demanded from the subject.

If I accuse someone of burgling my house, that's not a blackmail, that's an accusation.
Accusations are not the same as blackmail.
You guys need better communication handlers.

He already predicted this reactions to the tariifs a long time ago , they are temporary, once the tarriff benefits take hold everything will be fine
Oh my!
Do you guys even think?
What is the benefit of tariff aside putting more money in the government's pocket.
Perhaps, you are thinking of manufacturing jobs, majority aren't coming back even
with a 100% tariff and those that will do will take years to have any meaningful impact.

Meanwhile, American average earners will pay higher for goods regardless of where
they are manufactured and hundreds of thousands jobs will be lost at best.

How the idiotic Trump manage to gain a god-like status is something to be studied.

And if eventually they are pronounced not guilty, mama peace must be made to pay restitution for the time they were illegally locked up.
Restitution for what?
It is a case of Nigerian police vs some suspects.
I never knew Patience was the IPO, commissioner or IG.

Also, the security agencies in nigeria need serious overhaul starting with the dismissal of all officers who actively aided and abetted the illegal detention of these people.
The problem with this emotional response is that it only works for a particular case and then the issue continues
without considering the underlying problem.
Without any evidence you declared their detention illegal like most Nigerians do.
So, any opportunity to reform is lost because you guys assume their detention is already illegal
so nothing to change.
But their detention is completely legal even though unfortunate.

When those in positions of authority know they will be held accountable for thier actions, they are more likely to do the right thing.
There is no account here.
Were they detained according to a court order?
Absolutely, so unless you plan on getting the judge removed, nobody can be held for anything.

Majority of those awaiting trial for long time in jail have nothing to do with politicians
or powerful people.
Just a case of two fighting can cost a person up to 2 years in jail awaiting trial if not properly managed by the suspect
or the suspect is too poor to afford a lawyer.

Foreign AffairsRe: Trump Calls Tariffs "Economic Revolution", Says China The Most Hit Country. by Xisnin(m): 6:14pm On Apr 05, 2025
GRACEGLORY:
That's not the case.

Trump is trying to accelerate the impact of the interest rates by using tariffs as a form of pressure. This tactic is to finish what the hike in rates is expected to do, that's why he's pushing the Federal Reserve to lower rates now to prevent a recession from the combined effects. While the tariff strategy aims to address global imbalances and encourage other countries to offer the best deals to the U.S,
You obviously don't know what you are talking about.
Don't regurgitate what you read on SM.

it also sets the stage for the president to implement the largest tax cuts that he promised the Americans.
The "tax cut" is for multi-millionaires and billionaires.
Any average earner will lose more as their expenses rise via tariff and indirect taxes.
The tariff is actually the largest tax increase on Americans ever unless you are rich.
The cherry on the cake is the ultimate destruction of US dollar global power.
Unfortunately, Trump will likely be out of office by the time the chickens come home to roost.

I believe Mr. President got a plan.
This is not a matter of faith but reality.
Trump is a one trick pony who can't plan one hour ahead.
His handlers knows this and they are milking him to the maximum.

will no longer end up in court.

If not, politicians will continue will continue to bastardize the justice system
