I have no issue with the SOE that was declared in Rivers because is needed. Even though I disagree with the way the governor, deputy governor and lawmakers were suspended, I think everybody should just support the president decision for peace sake.

The national assembly should amend the law and make it impossible for the president or governor to remove or suspend a governor, local government chairman or lawmaker base on any excuse.

I agree, it should be illegal to suspend elected officials.
A better approach is for them to become a lame duck with no authority, just the title

Now imagine a scenario where a governor fearing impeachment decide to mobilize thousands
of armed thugs and place a bounty on the heads of the state's assembly member.
How would you rectify such without an SoE provision as a president?
Remember, the only way to legally remove a governor is via the assembly who have then
be declared persona non grata.

Would you wait till their tenure is over(many years) and leave the state in permanent crisis?

This is just another "pressure group" action which has proven to be utterly
useless when it comes to the issue of political power.

Moreover, if it improbably has significant impact, the major parties will just launch their own
app version the next election cycle using the ever willing mushroom groups that litter the political space.
Nothing outside of mandated electronic upload and live tallying inserted into

El rufai is not in full control of SDP yet until the national secretary issue is resolved.
