BrodaBenad:How is this relevant? I laugh at what people think caused the pipeline explosionsAre you no longer threatening the country with militants and creek boys or have you suddenly renounced violence? I remember how every post about Rivers is filled with threats of economic sabotage through pipeline vandalism. Even Fubara asked the boys to wait for further instructions. Tinubu miscalculatedActually, he didn't. You think he did because you only see 1 move ahead. If the SoE fails to pass the nationally assembly, Fubara will eventually be impeached. And if there is violence, a proper SoE will then be declared at which point there will be no reasonable opposition. The only thing Tinubu cares about is 2027, he doesn't care who is the governor as long as they can deliver for him when the election time comes. |
Ikaeniyan0:A future president cannot remove a governor based on flimsy excuse. It is even hard to do with concrete reasons. I agree, it should be illegal to suspend elected officials. A better approach is for them to become a lame duck with no authority, just the title during the period of the emergency. Now imagine a scenario where a governor fearing impeachment decide to mobilize thousands of armed thugs and place a bounty on the heads of the state's assembly member. How would you rectify such without an SoE provision as a president? Remember, the only way to legally remove a governor is via the assembly who have then be declared persona non grata. Would you wait till their tenure is over(many years) and leave the state in permanent crisis? |
Truths9ja:In Rivers right? But it would be a good move in Osun. |
The case shouldn't have been withdrawn. Too much political interference in justice matter is bad. Makinde goofed by turning the issue to a personal vendetta rather than let it be between the police, prosecutors and the defendants. The spurious case of murder would have been thrown out by the court at the end of the day. I guess Makinde want to avoid embarrassment by withdrawing the case earlier. |
TruthsFM:Huge gold deposits? Do you even know what you are talking about? Zamfara is a case between criminals and the people not the case of the governor himself committing crimes against the state. |
Hands of Yahya Bello, but it will fail eventually as his original rigging plans fail. |
D1official:You have never read a bible. There are countless of rituals in there. Neither do you know anything about Quran. |
BluntCrazeMan:This is just another "pressure group" action which has proven to be utterly useless when it comes to the issue of political power. Moreover, if it improbably has significant impact, the major parties will just launch their own app version the next election cycle using the ever willing mushroom groups that litter the political space. Nothing outside of mandated electronic upload and live tallying inserted into the electoral act can make a difference. I understand the need to do "something" now but the impact in my opinion will be at most to demonstrate that it could one day be officially replicated. Though some countries already had the system for decades and should have served as inspiration to the government. Given that no sitting president will sign their own electoral loss because electoral integrity will make it easy to vote out incompetent leaders. |
This one is straightforward. NYSC is a government-owned paramilitary organization. Its members cannot be seen to be engaging in partisan political activities let alone criticizing the government of the day. She may even get an extension as punishment. |
phemray:El rufai is not in full control of SDP yet until the national secretary issue is resolved. This is why I think his move to SDP may be organic even though Tinubu might be the major beneficiary. Contrary to popular belief, Tinubu does not own SDP. Are there compromised pro-Tinubu people working in SDP, absolutely but that is the case with such parties. They exist to profit from government in power, defecting politicians and engage in internal sabotage when encouraged to do so. |
APOPTOSIS:I think the more important question is whether it is his job to heal or ability to heal is the qualification for being a "pastor". Don't get me wrong, this is not a defense as I don't believe in claims of miracle from anybody to begin with. Just clarifying that pastor title is not the same as miracle/wonder worker. In fact, majority of the disciples did not heal anybody or perform miracles, does that make them fake too? |
Ddeliverer007:I agree that Elrufai is working to Tinubu's advantage. But wake up from your dreams regarding labour party. How can a person fix a party that they don't control and also chase away the owners and controllers of the party? With the way things are, they party might even refuse to sell its ticket to Obi and there is nothing anybody can do about it. |
RZArecta:The self-appointed "panel" is useless and hold no institutional power over the interpretation of Nigerian law regardless of their membership. They are only speaking because someone has likely greased their palms with Rivers money. There was the case of the innocent farmer sentenced to death for self-defense, the unprincipled panel didn't even bother to mention it because there is no money to be made from such case. |
Good. |
If there is no merger, Tinubu's second term is assured. Having 3 party candidates gave Tinubu a narrow win in 2023, having 4 candidates will guarantee a massive win. If Elrufai maintains his stance, it would mean he is indirectly working for Tinubu as a spoiler just like Kwankwaso did in Kano for unknown reward. |
Biased political panel. The cases went from federal to appeal before finally reaching the supreme court. None of the courts sacked the lawmakers because it would be absurd to do so. First, Fubara lack the standing to have initiated the "defection" suit, only the PDP has the right to complain which it did not. To make matters worse Fubara couldn't present concrete evidence of defection other than the video of lawmakers in a gathering holding some documents. Outside of the affected political party, only the house can declare a lawmakers seat vacant which itself subject to judicial review in court. In the position of the law, a member who has not resigned from their party has not defected regardless of their statements or the rally they attend. Many lawmakers have properly defected(resignation from original party) to APC in the national assembly with none losing their seats. |
kingbee90:You reason like a dumb white slave. Even pastors engage in rituals but you purposely left it out. Why doesn't Soludo also demand that pastors prove that their prayer works and those that can't should be thrown into prison? Soludo crusade will ultimately fail, he is hiding under insecurity to wage war against traditional religion practitioners who are protected under the Nigerian constitution. |
What exactly is her crime? Of course, they won't charge her to court but detained indefinitely like others. They know that no sane judge will find her guilty. |
Soludo, the silent crusader will not go after any pastor. Under the guise of fighting insecurity(which he ignored for years), he deceptively started fighting traditional religion adherents. Are some native doctors involved in crime, absolutely, just like some pastors and alfas partake in criminal activity. Rather than going after those who commits crime, he declared war on the entire group of native doctors because he see them as lowly human who need saving just like the colonial masters did. Imagine asking native doctors to prove that their prayers work while exempting christian and muslim clerics from the same burden. How does it make sense to try to examine a faith-based "prayer"? Not even in atheist China will you find such absurdity. |
LeeSmart:You are replying a chat gpt bot. Didn't you notice the pattern? You can't reason with a bot. |
FreeSpirited:You are confusing two different kidnappers. One goes for quality while the other for quantity. |
peleson1:Who is doing the criminal investigation? |
TheStranger:No, Russia has dictated all the terms to Trump. And Trump is forcing Ukraine to accept them all. In a normal negotiation, the two sides give up something but in the case of Russia, it is giving up nothing and getting everything it wants. |
owobokiri:There is a big difference between the "West" and Trump. Trump is all alone in his current wars. |
Lillybee2:What a childish mentality. |
dmangodwin:If he contributed genetic material to the child, then he is a sperm donor. You think impregnating a woman automatically gives you special rights with the potential child? No, fatherhood starts from pregnancy until adulthood, if you are not present, then you are just a sperm donor. Even a sperm donor will get better treatment. No, sperm donors get no treatment good or bad. |
gare:The all-knowing Prof. Emeritus, kindly join the Fubara's advise team quickly. They need you to help him out with your creative wisdom as they are currently out of moves. |
TheOldGods:You need to take your own advice and think before typing. What bring about a stranger woman here? Have you ever paid a strange driver for taking you to your destination? How about paying a strange plumber who fixes your pipes? Or paying a strange company to watch some video? Or do you rant to them that since they are strangers and didn't build with you, they don't deserve anything from you? There are even people who are sponsoring the education of people they have never met before. I don't know Asake's relationships but if he were to have an arrangement with someone where he agrees to help them grow, I don't see how that is anybody's problem even if they do nothing in return. After all, it is his money. As to the father, he is obviously useless to him, hence the abandonment. He is no special than a random sperm donor. They both contribute biological material to the child but nothing more after that. There is this sickening belief by deadbeat father that the child must ask and search for them when fully grown but that appears to not be true anymore. If you must reply, make sure you logically explain why a sperm donor deserve special treatment from the offspring? |
Why is Fubara becoming a coward lately. Since he has all the militants behind him, what is he afraid of? After all, the clown lawmakers are gone for good as only Oko Jumbo is recognized as the right speaker. |
zedman1:Very bad roads don't cause accidents, just gridlock. But small bad portion in a very smooth road such as pothole can also cause accident. |
hmm |
