I think what mlks_baby said are quite in order. When you carefully read James 1:27, Christianity was already in existence when he penned that verse. And there's no other faith or religion alluded to in that verse than Christianity. Think about it: what is pure and acceptable before the Father if it falls short of the glory of God, regardless the motive? And who was James addressing - Christians or others? Are you saying that in spite of the sacrifice of Christ on the Cross, other religious activities are 'pure and undefiled' as well before God and the Father according to that verse in James?

Anyway, what i meant was that giving selflessing comes from a pure and honest heart. About other peoples and other religions; the bible talks about their concience being a law unto them either condeming or saving them when they did not have the law. So if u look at it from this perspective giving from a pure motive is undefiled and acceptable. I am not outlining a doctrine or anything just a thought. And we do know God deals with people on the level of knowledge they have of him
And religious practice itself can be classified under what paul calls works, whether good or bad, works cannot save anybody.

At the time Jesus was talking christianity did not even exist. He had to die and resurect before the first christians could be born.
Note that he was making a clear point that acceptable religion or sacrifice or acceptable actions before God , that are undefiled by other motives is. Giving selflessly. All the other paraphenelia like places of worship, garments of worship, objects of reverence and so on are irrelevant in the end.
For a christian giving selflessly is still acceptable before God. For others, its cool too. But religion pure or impure is not all God accepts from us

Another thought, i am not sure but i think archeopthera were supposed to be the ancestors of modern birds? And this is someone that works for a web design firm. gets contracts from established organisations. the site in question was for a popular religious group.

PH is a new environment for me and i like new things.
Secondly, contrary to what people may say about militants and all, PH is more peaceful and laid - back than lagos. U dont need to hustle around like a headless chicken cos u want to live.
All the violence and militancy dont really affect the average person, they mostly occur at the oil locations. There are also a lot of cult killing and so but i wont say they are more than other places and they are mostly localised to some parts of PH, mostly "town" All major cities in the world have thier own "down-town " areas.
Generally, ph is peacefull and u dont have to look over ur shoulder for pickpockets and dupers and hypnotists and ritualists like u would in Lagos
Besides if u get into the right places, u can make truckloads of money in Ph

this is exactly the type of BS rhetoric TOE is about. Ok u found bacteria in rock eons ago. and from this u surmised how photosynthesis evolved. where are the intermidiate steps in this evolution? how did u test the biochemical mechanisms in a 900mil yr old fossil. this is just a smokescreen for the uninformed. what fossils give is is at best a rudimentary outline of sturcture, not biochemical traces that can give any definitive insight into exact mechanisms

Note that i am not in anyway arguing that PS1 type synthesis appeared on earth before PS2 but these are all means of production of glucose which still exist up until now. It is no more evolution than the Yomo et al experiment, it is no more evolution than lactose intolerance in some human strains.

Cool, i am not really sure but i think the cocyx in man is an example of a vestige. ok why not go the whole hoge and find me an intermidiate form of a primate with half developed tail, not serving a useful function. because according to toe, natural selection must preseve the genes of these individuals for them to pass on this trait and for their off spring to eventually loose the tail completely
WHat we see in primates is mokeys with fully functional tails (even the ones with small ones like baboons still use them for balance) and apes with no tails at all. Again where is the intermidiate for with a non functional tail. U will not find it alive of fossilised
The eternal dillema of evolution is that natural selection is supposed not to pass on any trait that is not beneficial in some way, so a half depleted organ like a primate tail should not be passed on and the completely absent tail would not have arisen

A Christian is expected to live a certain way but christianity is not a way of life. A religion lays down rules and practises directed at reverence at some object. there are many religions in the world including the religious practice of christianity. In a religion, ur status in the religion depends on wether u follow the rules or not i.e. if ur religion is dogism u must bark like a dog or else u r not a doggist.
In christianity u r first and formost a creature known as a christian (1 cor 5:17). All the other issues are peripheral

The state of beign however depends on ur continued belief in its reality. the moment u loose the belief u revert back to being a dog
