It's Nigeria that caused it. This is called reciprocate. American is given you 5years and you are given them 3 months who does that? I believe those who did this are already citizens and they don't care the impact it will create for others. So I don't really blame America for what they did na Nigerians look for trouble. What's their reason for that actions.

Its like F1 is affected as well Efetobore1980: ■■
Thank you for the update because it concern me as a Nigerian. However, entry is entry even if it is 30 days. Thank God they did not ban Nigeria like they did to some countries.
■ Anyways, i believe the rule wont affect F1 visa holders. 👍

Good evening, please I'm in a situation where the date has been selected for next year 2026. On the dashboard it's not stating that I have "1 appointment"yet, in order to view details. I can see the appointment scheduled already on the appointment page, and if I select emergency it says "Select Applicant" and hereby not allowing me move further to request. What can I do in this situation.
Note: I once had a date for Abuja and submitted DS-160 form which doesn't suit my school resumption date, reason why I changed to Lagos and I prefer using the emergency in Lagos as it's closer to me compared to Abuja.

I tap into this congratulations 🎉 please 1. Did U apply alone or with Ur hubby or daughter 2.Do U have any scholarship at the moment? DBlessedofGod: Hello everyone, I have been a silent reader on this thread for years now. I just want to share my experience here to help one or two people who might need some level of encouragement.
I must thank the great minds here for a wonderful job well done in keeping this forum going .
I applied for F1 visa Jan 2020 to travel with my daughter back then but was denied (Lagos embassy) on grounds of no family tie.
It was on my birthday and I was really devastated because I was tired of my previous place of work and couldn't wait to resign and japa.
So the motive then was just to japa lolzz. I was really broken so much so I gave up on my dreams to ever travel. Chai US visa denial has a way of messing up ones mind ooooo. I didn't even bother looking at my passport again sef for years.
Left my organization and Started a business with my hubby same 2020,and to the glory of God business is doing well.
Fast forward 2024 I felt it was time to try again. I reached out to the same school I applied to previously (Texas A & M university, Commerce) I applied for MBA with minor. Previously I applied for M.sc Marketing. I got admitted immediately (15th Nov, 2024) since my documents with them was still valid.
My i20 was sent on the 24th of January,2025 after submitting my POF documents to my school. Paid visa fee (first bank) 28th of January Got to pre approval stage 30th January Pre approval approved 31st January Date I got for interview was 3/2/2026 (meanwhile my start date is in August) Rescheduled for emergency appointment 31st of January Emergency appointment approved 3rd of February and got a date for 13th of March 2025. Paid for sevis thru Walspring (God bless this guy for me abundantly) 10th of March. It reflected within 3 hours. He was the one who also helped me to pay in 2020
Yesterday was my interview (Lagos embassy) I got there 5.30am my time slot was for 6.30. The interview started 7.30am lots of denial flying right, left and centre. And to God alone be the glory I was approved yesterday.
My honest advice is first of all make sure it's God's plan, place and time for you travel cos once it's His plan everything works for you.
Oh yes this time around I prayed more, I was more prepared and more composed (visa officers are trained to sense desperation). I also went thru videos of ex officers advice on YouTube, for me that was really helpful.
Pls if u are going for your interview be prepared to answer and elaborate on questions asked. At some point e come be like say me and the visa officer (a white lady) come dey argue lolzzzz
I just give God all the glory for all He did all the way.
I wish everyone here God's speed and ease in Jesus mighty name |

Hmmm that's serious OyoTunjiUSA: Hey 🤠
1. Beginning from last year (2023), you can now look for job while in the USA with B1-B2 VISA.
2. Please read me well. You cannot work with B1-B2 VISA but you can look or search for job within the stipulated period given to you at the port of entry , and once you are able to process the final transition paper work to H1-B or other work related visas then you are good to stay and work.
3. The scenario above is not compulsory to be done as a straight away procedure. It depends on the stipulated time given to you at the entry port. If your work paper cannot be finalised at ago, you can return to Nigeria and go back when necessary.
Best Wishes 🙏 |

Ha! Fair heart you decided to grace this page today, you are one of oldest and finest helper it's been awhile I lost Ur contact It's been like 4years back,I have reached out to a mutual friend to give me Ur contact. Please once a while make U dey encourage people this group God bless baba fairheart: This is from one my old posts. I hope it helps someone!
The rules still apply. Every student still have a chance, even after 2-7 denials. Even after 10 refusals!!! Yes! I keep saying it: I know more than 4 students who got their visas after 4 denials respectively (the 5th time). I got mine after 9 attempts! One of my closest friends, 8th attempt!
Why so many denials if they were to be granted eventually? I have no idea. I also know several students who got it first appearance. I once tried to look at the determining factors between these two groups, and I can't find much. The first-time student appear calm, confident, and did not have occupied fear of denials, no travel experience either. One of them is a close friend. Victor is a simple guy; he doesn't worry or carry things for head. He is a good example of calmness. On his interview day, he behaved as though he is unaware that US embassy denials a lot. He took himself there and got it. (of course, there are other factors).
I have learned that we can't achieve much in this life if we are not confident and calm in our pursuit. So, I want to encourage prospective students. Learn these qualities as you prepare for your interview and in other areas of your endeavours: confidence, ability to be calm under pressure (this doesn't come easily except it's in your gene to take things lightly. For me, it is difficult experiences that taught me calmness, and I am still learning). Please don't picture yourself in another student's scenario. Someone has been denied, but it is not you. Have faith and keep calm. You need to find it within yourself to believe that your case is different. And even when you're denied, keep believing.
You want to leave Nigeria and never have anything to do with this country again? You don't like it here, and you want to go as fast as you can? Well, change that perspective. No carry America education for head. It will happen, but let it not be do or die, or else, you will put yourself under unnecessary pressure and it will not help.
I am just looking for avenue to encourage you guys. |

OyoTunjiUSA: Hey 🤠
1. She does not need an interview . You are the one who need the interview . Her parents must send an invitation letter to you (requesting you to bring the kid over and stating the reason why they cannot come themselves as well as why you were chosen.
2. You will use the invitation letter , with other support documentation (proving their parentage) to apply for your visa . The embassy might ask you to bring in the kid but it's not compulsory, they can authenticate her detail via her blue P.
Best Wishes 🙏 Many thanks for this. Please would I still have to wait for interview date or can I get interview date faster through any emergency because she is meant to go back this summer. |

OyoTunjiUSA: Hey 🤠
1. Apply alone with the special kid . You will stand as her only accompanying family person since she cannot travel alone and that's a good omen for you to get your visiting visa this time around . You will have a very good reason to get your visa .
2. Your 2 kids and your husband, and your 16 yr old house-help are also a very good ties for you to return to Nigeria quickly. If you include them in the visa application , then that would be unreasonable and might be termed an intending Immigrant family .
3. When you secure your B1/B2 visa , it would be easier to get future visa for your 2 kids , and your house help , while your husband has a good travel history on his own. Don't do otherwise, but with God all things are possible .
*** As per your house girl , you will have to adopt her (legally with government papers) and apply for visa for your 3 kids (including the house girl who is now your daughter ) in the future . You need calculation and patience to get visas for all of you , otherwise the embassy might flag your profiles as intending Immigrant family .
Best Wishes 🙏 Thanks for this reply please how does this part work if she doesn't need a visa, will I be allowed to take her for interview along with me since she already has her blue passport. |

Good evening house, please I want to apply to the US with my husband and my 2kids (3/4yrs) with my house girl of 16years. I have applied for student visa like 3times four years ago then I was single and I was denied all 3times so I stopped applying for it due to the trauma of Failure. My brother and his wife in US has been pleading that I reapply with my family, but I have been scared to try again. My Niece who is an American citizen has been staying with me for awhile now cos she is a special kid and she is due to go back to the US in few months time which will make it her 1 year of staying with as she has gotten better than before. My husband has a good travelling history and he is a permanent resident of an Asian country, I have not travelled out since I got married. Please I need your advice should we apply as a family and use my niece as a case study to return her back to her parents,or should we apply on our own, what's the best chances for us to apply plus she has barely few months to go back and we have not purchased the form yet plus the long time to wait for appointment, My question is:What's the best case scenario for us,I would appreciate your advice.
N.b: we don't intend to Japa we just want to be able to visit my brother and his family during occasions as a family, because we have a joint bussiness running here in Nigeria. |
