@azharuddin

Jazakhalah Khairan for your post. . .

@uplawal

Lol. . .same problem I am having with Modenine. . .I know his lyrics like crazy. . .since i read azharuddin's response, I have not played any of his songs on my laptop. . .

My mind is telling me to delete them all but its a difficult thing to do. . .one part of my mind tells me , "shebi u are not listening to it. . .why delete it". . .the other part wants me to delete everything completely and give up my position as Modo's number 1 fan. . . grin

May Allah make it easy for me

@xoxo,

May Allah continue to increase you in knowledge. I listen to music like poetry cos i only choose those kinds of music that awakes my mental thought process. . in wordplays, metaphors and the rest, .

For poetry, I love Saul Williams, Amir Suleiman etc. . .but I still feel something is not right about Saul Williams poems even though he composes them with such brilliance. . .lines like "never Question who I am, God knows, and I know God personally, Infact he lets me call him me" scares the life out of me,

Amir Suleiman is muslim. . keeps beards and jump trousers but he is a poet and he is much into music. . .

As for solat, there is a mosque behind my office and i have my mat in the office too. Thats where I discovered that I was down sliding spiritually, when there is a mosque behind and a mat in my office and yet, I'm still combining prayers. . .oro buruku ohin te rin. . . but Alhamdulilah I am picking up. . .

And yes, i'm very much a programmer and I have the softwares, however, its not forgetfullness that is my worry, its having the heart and iman to drop everything i am doing when its time for solat. . .many a time I hear the adhan but stilll will not stand up from my sit (Auzubilah. . .Astagfurulah). . .may Allah strengthen my faith,

About getting a mentor, I have just a few muslim friends in this country. . .this would have been easier in naija. . .even the muslim friends i have, i jacked them all from the internet (facebook) and invited them to my house for iftaar during ramadan. . .Alhamdulilah

Anywayz, thanks alot for your contributions in making me a better muslim. I pray Allah rewards u all on Qiyamah, .

#Javalove. . .unless otherwise stated. . .!
I now undastand ur plight better, is there a muslim store around you, get ur self some islamic books and cds or u culd visit islamic websites or download islamic ebooks. Particularly books that deal with the fundamentals of the Islamic faith, u need to remind urself of y u r a muslim in the first place and rebuild ur faith from the scratch. This would help you rejuvenate ur iman. Every oda thing like solat @ the right time follows naturally after a strong iman.

Btw- i'm also a programmer, i know how difficult it can be to drag urself away from ur computer, smiley smiley but alhamdulillah for Allah's Favours.

Salam Alykun Warahmatulah Wbarakatuh

1. I know this might be absurd, but what is the best way or plan for someone whose work has almost taken over is entire life (lol) to keep up with solat times
Same as azharuddin said, is there a mosque close by, or a place u can pray @ work?- there are solat software u can install to remind u of prayer times, cos i suppose as a programmer u'll spend most time with ur computer.

javalove:
2. Can someone's love for music or poetry affect his level of Iman? (I'm madly in love with poetry)
yes music affects your iman, i used to be a die hard music fan , so believe me it can be done. i used to sleep with my ear phones on, i knew the lyrics to all latest songs, bt Masha Allah, i no longer see the appeal. Can't say the day I lost interest, happened gradually, so make up ur mind n give it time. As for poetry, depends on the words, More knowledgeable ppl shuld be able to give u specific contents that shuld be avoided.

javalove:
3. Does being the only muslim amongst friends affect Iman level?
well its not so much as being the only muslim as it is being different, whenever one is the odd one out, it tends to affect u subconsciously. But it affecting ur iman can be avoided by constantly reminding urself of who u r what u stand for .

javalove:
4. Generally, what is the best way for a muslim to remain steadfast and maintain a constant relationship with Allah?
For me constant listening to Islamic lectures does it, they rejuvenate me and my iman is renewed all over.

javalove:
Now, here is the context in which I am asking this questions

I strongly feel my spirituality level is dropping It's not giving me peace internal. Reason being that I was not like this before and I am struggling to find where my fault lies. I feel like I have betrayed myself and sometimes cry. Could it be the too much music and poetry? Could it be my delayed solats? I

Bottom line is that I do not want to fall into the category of people who were close to Allah when it was complicated and rough and forget Allah when life becomes rosy.
Exactly this time last yr, i had the same dillema though in a different sense , i was having some doubts about my Islam. Allah sent someone to me and MashaAllah My iman has never been stronger. He mistakenly sent a text msg to my phone and i called back to alert him, as we got to talking turns out he's a strong muslim with a christain background. He answered a lot my questions, and though we'v never met, we kip in touch (once in a blue moon). He helped me through a lot and now i dont hesitate to call him for any advise.

My advice to you, first the recitation of the Holy Quran. It is absolutely cleansing and energizing. u  shuld try for at least a page after your morning solat.

U shuld also get a mentor, a more knowledgeable person whom you can call on and seek advise from.

blacksta:
I thought about this myself  - most probably ibb is looking to redeem himself  - after all he has stolen enough money and i also think that the death of his wife has shown  that the wealth is vanity and what really matters is the footprints and legacy you leave behind. for example Gani's children can raise their heads and be proud of that name anywhere they go.

I am also thinking we will get more action out of IBB than GEJ - in roughly about 5 months what has GEJ acheived  - some say fuel is now plentiful - i say absolute nonsense  - i strongly belive IBB will take no prisoners and GEJ is either slow or non vocal apart from FACEBOOK - how many nigerians have access to the internet. Why not have weekly tv broadcasts.

I am actually suprised that i am thinking this way.  See what society abnormality has caused.
He wants to redeem himself?- Mayb/Maybnt one can't know for sure.

Wat I know for sure is dat he shudnt get a second chance to rule Nigeria, nt wen the faith of 150million ppl is involved, its too big a gamble. If he wants to redeem himself, really there are other ways to do that.

He shud start in his community by dedicating half of his property to the needy and unemployed in that area and standing up with Nigerians against  corruption, he could join his might with SNG to battle injustice and corruption assuming u r right n he wants to redeem himself.  An oppsition like IBB will make any ruling party sit tight, just my 2 cents.

Former Nigerian military tyrant Ayatollah Buhari will FAIL in ALL endeavors on which he squanders his looted government cash.

Buhari will FAIL to ever get elected to any post higher than village dog catcher, and his law suits protesting that failure will all FAIL in similar fashion.

He will FAIL in realizing his mad dream of converting Nigeria into a rogue Taliban Islamic terror state.

He will FAIL to get it up when his ugly wife demands it, and he will FAIL to jail another human being for the rest of his wasted life.

And finally, Buhari will FAIL to garner any sympathy at all when he dies in poverty after wasting all his stolen wealth.

Even in death, Buhari will FAIL to copulate with the 70 virgins in paradise, but will instead spend eternity shovelling hot coals in the fiery bowels of hell, while having the living crap flogged out of his sorry butt by cackling, scaly demons.
So there are still ppl as shallow minded as this in this age of our country when others are clamouring for meaninful change, some are still blinded by religion. SMH, cry cry cry cry

Its not in GEJ's place to invoke whatever clause to probe Uduaghan, GEJ is not EFCC, Uduaghan just like GEJ is a party man, both belong to PDP if PDP should say Uduaghan is their candidate its not in GEJ's place to not support him, in as much as I see Uduaghan as a rogue, let's set the record straight, if Edwin Clarke has facts to nail him he should direct it to EFCC to prosecute Uduaghan, if Femi Falana has facts to nail Uduaghan as an election rigger he should take it up in the courts not bash GEJ for supporting someone who is his party's candidate.

only way nuhu can beat GEJ is if buhari steps down and supports him
Correct.

GEJ already has a lot of sympathy votes due to him being a SS man. As  Nigerians it is undeniable that some injustice has been done to them as to the development of their communities. Many Nigerians (SE,SW,SS n some parts of the North)  will vote simply for this reason; the believe that SS finally deserves a chance to rule. This already gives jonathan an edge over NR and Buhari.

But I dont buy that. If the north which has ruled more than any zone in this country produces a good candidate then vote I shall and vice versa, if SS produces a less than competent candidate, then i wont vote him and vice versa.  Simply put, all powers that be need to unite so the PDP monster can be eradicated from our Beloved Country. Though even if they unite its still not going to be an easy battle but it would definitely loose PDP some seats in the House and some States. And That I believe would be a giant leap in the cleansing  of this country.
Christianity EtcRe: The Dogma Of Trinity by xoxogg(f): 12:00pm On Nov 09, 2010
cadanre:
Christ, according to the faith, is the second person in the Trinity, the Father being the first and the Holy Ghost third. Each of these persons is God. Christ is his own father and his own son. The Holy Ghost is neither father nor son, but both. The son was begotten by the father, but existed before he was begotten--just the same before as after. Christ is just as old as his father, and the father is just as young as his son. The Holy Ghost proceeded from the Father and Son, but was equal to the Father and Son before he proceeded, that is to say, before he existed, but he is of the same age as the other two. So it is declared that the Father is God, and the Son and the Holy Ghost God, and these three Gods make one God. According to the celestial multiplication table, once one is three, and three time one is one, and according to heavenly subtraction if we take two from three, three are left. The addition is equally peculiar: if we add two to one we have but one. Each one equal to himself and to the other two. Nothing ever was, nothing ever can be more perfectly idiotic and absurd than the dogma of the Trinity

Really .net is not the language. It is a library which PLs under the .net framework can access. It has a lot of pre-coded solutions to the most common programming functions. So decide which one of the microsoft languages you want to learn then you can start reaping the benefits along with us. cool cool cool cool cool

WebmastersRe: How long do you code a day(Hours) by xoxogg(f): 8:07am On Oct 26, 2010
birdman:
If you use .NET, you really aren't a programmer, at least not in the traditional sense. You really are a "bare-metal" web designer.  The guys designing the .NET libraries would be called programmers. They would have to worry about memory leaks, speed, code reusability and refactoring and a ton of other issues you ccare little about.  They might even right portions of the graphics libraries in assembly for performance. That how you spend 8-16 hours a day programming.
I use .net , infact i'm a core microsoft(Asp.net, vb.net, sqlserver) person, though i am now working on my first php/mysql  project. Think of it this way, i'm working with a deadline and really the most important aspect to me is meeting the requirements on time, i don't wanna waste time rewriting codes which may eventually be bug ridden n have some loopholes that would take you a 12-18hours dailywhile to clear up already available in the .net library. My policy as a programmer is to reuse as much as i can. .Net helps you reduce the coding but doesn't really do the job for you because we also write codes. Really the most important thing to me is delivery of the correct software on time, so i use .net and write my codes also. Albeit i average 3-4 hours coding and limitless amount of time debugging.  About the bold, NO i use .net but i write codes, i stay awake @nite trying to find solutions for my logic problems, i dream of my codes.
