javalove:Will give u a shout via email. We program in opposite directions , i'm a c#/VB.net/Asp.net person. . I thut Ethiopia had a large a muslim population, or did i think wrong. |
javalove:I now undastand ur plight better, is there a muslim store around you, get ur self some islamic books and cds or u culd visit islamic websites or download islamic ebooks. Particularly books that deal with the fundamentals of the Islamic faith, u need to remind urself of y u r a muslim in the first place and rebuild ur faith from the scratch. This would help you rejuvenate ur iman. Every oda thing like solat @ the right time follows naturally after a strong iman. Btw- i'm also a programmer, i know how difficult it can be to drag urself away from ur computer, but alhamdulillah for Allah's Favours. |
javalove:Same as azharuddin said, is there a mosque close by, or a place u can pray @ work?- there are solat software u can install to remind u of prayer times, cos i suppose as a programmer u'll spend most time with ur computer. javalove:yes music affects your iman, i used to be a die hard music fan , so believe me it can be done. i used to sleep with my ear phones on, i knew the lyrics to all latest songs, bt Masha Allah, i no longer see the appeal. Can't say the day I lost interest, happened gradually, so make up ur mind n give it time. As for poetry, depends on the words, More knowledgeable ppl shuld be able to give u specific contents that shuld be avoided. javalove:well its not so much as being the only muslim as it is being different, whenever one is the odd one out, it tends to affect u subconsciously. But it affecting ur iman can be avoided by constantly reminding urself of who u r what u stand for . javalove:For me constant listening to Islamic lectures does it, they rejuvenate me and my iman is renewed all over. javalove:Exactly this time last yr, i had the same dillema though in a different sense , i was having some doubts about my Islam. Allah sent someone to me and MashaAllah My iman has never been stronger. He mistakenly sent a text msg to my phone and i called back to alert him, as we got to talking turns out he's a strong muslim with a christain background. He answered a lot my questions, and though we'v never met, we kip in touch (once in a blue moon). He helped me through a lot and now i dont hesitate to call him for any advise. My advice to you, first the recitation of the Holy Quran. It is absolutely cleansing and energizing. u shuld try for at least a page after your morning solat. U shuld also get a mentor, a more knowledgeable person whom you can call on and seek advise from. |

blacksta:He wants to redeem himself?- Mayb/Maybnt one can't know for sure. Wat I know for sure is dat he shudnt get a second chance to rule Nigeria, nt wen the faith of 150million ppl is involved, its too big a gamble. If he wants to redeem himself, really there are other ways to do that. He shud start in his community by dedicating half of his property to the needy and unemployed in that area and standing up with Nigerians against corruption, he could join his might with SNG to battle injustice and corruption assuming u r right n he wants to redeem himself. An oppsition like IBB will make any ruling party sit tight, just my 2 cents. |

First of all," poster: NO ghana has constant light, stayed there for some months. Relative to the resources they have per the resources we have, then indeed Ghana is managing better than Nigeria. Truth be told though, Accra is on the scale of Jos, or Kaduna the medium cities of Naija.. Now stop arguing about Football, u sound like kids. Gyanosei1:Point taken, u have beautiful places in Ghana , , duh.uh, every city should be able to boast of Landmarks, now off with y'all. This is nairaland, go bash 9ja someplace else ![]() |
Interesting and educative thread. I hate it when i see ppl insulting each other over religion. Most important is that each and every individual owes a search for truth in all directions to himself, don't follow mummy, daddy, the easiest, most difficult, most popular or what have you. |
Jakumo:So there are still ppl as shallow minded as this in this age of our country when others are clamouring for meaninful change, some are still blinded by religion. SMH, |

fASH-i-am:This Makes sense, its really about the individual, cos i hav seen some hausa muslims getting dirty. @ poster i think its more common to see girls holding back in the north though., if thats wat u mean by hausa muslim. |
sbeezy8:Correct. GEJ already has a lot of sympathy votes due to him being a SS man. As Nigerians it is undeniable that some injustice has been done to them as to the development of their communities. Many Nigerians (SE,SW,SS n some parts of the North) will vote simply for this reason; the believe that SS finally deserves a chance to rule. This already gives jonathan an edge over NR and Buhari. But I dont buy that. If the north which has ruled more than any zone in this country produces a good candidate then vote I shall and vice versa, if SS produces a less than competent candidate, then i wont vote him and vice versa. Simply put, all powers that be need to unite so the PDP monster can be eradicated from our Beloved Country. Though even if they unite its still not going to be an easy battle but it would definitely loose PDP some seats in the House and some States. And That I believe would be a giant leap in the cleansing of this country. |

I see. You want an 8 puzzle solver its a very common programming problem though i've never attempted it , i'll still try, its about time i also solved it. |
funny,I once worked on a school application a while back. It has some modules like yours in it and more. I started it off to while a way time, finally got into it big time, the completed modules were working perfectly and realized I could actually sell it. Problem is i wasn't really thinking when i started it so i made it a full windows App n realized 'll have to convert it to an online system to make it more marketable. But i already have so much i'm working on, i totally forgot i had something like that, somewhere. Thanks for reminding me. I'll make it a point to get back to it. ![]() binkabir: |

An interesting thread, quite refreshing to see issues being addressed without the calling of names ![]() |

Donpuzo:Well i have to work with a friend on my next project who wants to use PHP, so i decided to start trying out stuff with PHP before beginning his project. Also i'm curious how to how PHP being open source may ease up things for me. Donpuzo:Really .net is not the language. It is a library which PLs under the .net framework can access. It has a lot of pre-coded solutions to the most common programming functions. So decide which one of the microsoft languages you want to learn then you can start reaping the benefits along with us. ![]() |
netotse:Thank you, i would have eventually introduced myself, but i totally felt wat was been discussed, so i just jumped in. Well better late than never, here we go, I am a programmer but i also have a job where i work as an IT officer( can't say where, tryin to protect my backside though its a reputable company, quite popular n they pay well) , I spend my free time@ work working on my own software projects. Its a beautiful arrangement for me, i have a place to go everyday and concentrate on my coding, and whenever they have computer issues I attend to them. I am in my early 20's. I have also developed a couple of softwares for my company which work remarkably well. I face challenges @ work who doesn't so watch out for my updates whenever i need to vent. My intro for now, more to come soon. This should be fun, ![]() |
birdman:I use .net , infact i'm a core microsoft(Asp.net, vb.net, sqlserver) person, though i am now working on my first php/mysql project. Think of it this way, i'm working with a deadline and really the most important aspect to me is meeting the requirements on time, i don't wanna waste time rewriting codes which may eventually be bug ridden n have some loopholes that would take you a http://www.25hoursaday.com/weblog/2008/08/31/DevelopersUsingLibrariesIsNotASignOfWeakness.aspx. I am new on NL n very happy to have older programmers to interact with. Now i have an additional place to discuss whenever those bugs refuse to die |
ogas refusing to take the blame for fkups is a naija thing , esp when the ogas arent competent enough to understand whats goig down in the first placeRefusing to take blame is one aspect, its worse wen they blame u for things absolutely their fault. I wonder how I am responsible for things happening on my boss's system all the way from my office. Its so wack n so frustrating, but since he's the boss wat can i say. |
, i'm a c#/VB.net/Asp.net person.
