Tech is the future. USA and China carry most of the billionaires.

If Nigeria were to be one of these countries, I believe we will have many billionaires in dollars.

Nigeria is full of minds with potentials.

Education / Re: See Universities That Will Consider Awaiting Result This Year. by Xoxyl(m): 11:45pm On Jul 05, 2016
Edroom:

Awaiting Result is the term used for candidates O’ level result that is not available at hand. There are rumors going all over the internet that there is no admission for students using awaiting result this year. All these rumors are heresies from the pit of hell, check Nigeria system of education from 1993, there has always been slots allocated for fresh secondary graduate in every admission slot.

I want you guys to wipe your tears, there is possibility of gaining admission this year only if you have good credentials. We have WAEC and NECO as the major written O’ Level exams in Nigeria, and the exam form that is good for awaiting result is May/June WAEC, this because they release their result as early as August. This year May/June WAEC result will likely come out on the 5th or 12th of August, there is nothing to panic about, your WAEC result will be released before the screening deadline, another thing is that most universities open their portal for candidates using awaiting result. Below are universities that will consider awaiting result this year:

1. Obafemi Awolowo University: check www.eportal.oauife.edu.ng, read the instruction very well, prospective candidates who are using awaiting results are also eligible to apply to OAU admission screening exercise. Also take note that only awaiting results within the specific period will be allow to upload their result when they are released.

2. Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta:
check www.admission.unaab.edu.ng , read the pre-admission screening very well. FUAAB will reopen their portal for candidates using awaiting, if closed. This is what they normally do every year, only students with awaiting result will have access to portal.

3. University of Lagos: check www.unilag.edu.ng, Unilag requires JAMB original result slip with passport photograph on their screening date. Note: Candidates with awaiting results are also eligible, candidates who will not be sixteen years of age by Oct 31, 2016 are not eligible and need not apply.

4. University of Ilorin: check www.uniilorin.edu.ng, WAEC result will be released before their screening date. Apart from that, there is slot for fresh secondary graduate every year.

5. University of Jos: check www.unijos.edu.ng , as of today July 5, 2016, Unijos 2016/2017 screening date is not known. The screening date will be out probably before the end of this month, I am very sure WAEC result will be released before their screening deadline.

6. University of Benin: check www.uniben.edu.ng, due to the scrapping of post UME, Uniben suspended their screening exercise till further notice, the new date is not known yet. WAEC result will be released before their screening deadline.

7. UNIPORT: check www.uniport.edu.ng, the latest news by the university registrar, Mrs. Dorcas D. Otto says that the screening have been postponed till further notice, WAEC result will be released before their screening deadline.

8. FUTA: Their post UME is out, if you score more than 180 in JAMB, you are eligible to write their screening.

9. University of Abuja: there screening date is not known yet, WAEC result will be released before their screening deadline.

10. University of Calabar: there screening date is not known, WAEC result will be released before their screening deadline.

There are many State Universities and Polytechnics that will accept awaiting result, almost all the Private Universities in Nigeria will accept awaiting result.

Stay calm, if you are using May/June WAEC awaiting result, you have hope.

Education / Re: Nairaland Interschool Debate: Winner::LASU by Xoxyl(m): 9:09pm On Dec 27, 2013
Why are you in lasu? If education kills creativity, I think you should have stayed at home thinking your mind; lastly, remember thinking comes from what you learn or things you see around you.
Education / Re: Nairaland Interschool Debate: Winner::LASU by Xoxyl(m): 7:58pm On Dec 27, 2013
The protocol observed, debators, ladies and gentlemen.

Firstly, education in its general sense is a form of learning in which the knowledge , skills, and habits of a group of people are transferred
from one generation to the
next through teaching,
training, or research.
Education frequently takes
place under the guidance of others, but may also be autodidactic.[1] Any experience that has a formative effect on the
way one thinks, feels, or
acts may be considered
educational. Education is
commonly divided into
stages such as preschool, primary school , secondary school and then college, university or apprenticeship. A right to education has been recognized by some
governments. At the global
level, Article 13 of the United Nations' 1966 International Covenant on
Economic, Social and
Cultural Rights recognises the right of everyone to an education.[2] Although education is compulsory in most places up to a certain
age, attendance at school often isn't, and a minority
of parents choose home- schooling, e-learning or similar for their children.

Creativity is the act of turning
new and imaginative ideas
into reality. Creativity
involves two processes:
thinking, then producing.
Innovation is the production or implementation of an idea.
If you have ideas, but don’t
act on them, you are
imaginative but not creative.

Relationship between education and creativity
Creativity has become one of
those "buzz" words that
everyone gives lip services to.
Put the world "creativity"
into the title of a book and it
will be best seller. People ask: How can creativity be
fostered? Is it possible to give
exercises for creativity? A
program? A system of
education? Is creativity
something that can be trained or taught? You can certainly train people
to carry out tasks in a better
way, acquire new techniques
and skills, and to accumulate
new knowledge. But the
whole essence of creativity lies in its freshness, its
freedom, its newness.
Creativity is often unexpected
and exciting. It involves
seeing things in new ways
and breaking rules. Creativity may result in something
radically different--e.g.
Picasso/ Stravinsky, or it may
involve the unfolding of an
old, established form with a
total freshness-e.g. Bach and the fugue. I would argue that there can
be no program, no system of
training or education for
creativity--whatever
boundary we draw around it,
something else that is totally creative will emerge in a
different place. Creativity is
not a skill, it is not a sort of
muscle of the brain, or a
technology of the mind.
Creativity makes use of knowledge and skill but that
is not where its roots lie. I have always felt that
creativity is perfectly natural.
We should not ask how to be
creative, rather we must
question why we are not
being creative! Creativity is the essence of life, of
evolution, of consciousness, of
nature and of matter. The
universe itself is in a constant
act of creation so, as its
children, we should ask ourselves--Why, in such a
creative universe, do societies
and some individuals at times
appear to be stupid, dull,
destructive and uncreative?--
Or are we deceived? Are people really dull--or is their
creativity simply being
shown in other ways? Are
we all, in fact, creative--and is
it just that there are certain
blocks which seem to frustrate us in certain areas of
our lives? Do we all have the
potential for creativity no
matter how old we are?

Education / Re: Nairaland Interschool Debate: Winner::LASU by Xoxyl(m): 7:29pm On Dec 27, 2013
-If creativity is the act of turning new imaginative ideas into reality, how possible will education kill creativity?

-If you have ideas but you don't act on them, you are imaginative but not creative. So you cannot get new ideas without education. This proves that education killsimproves creativity

-Creativity starts at home, education also starts at home. Education polishes the ideas in mind to become creative.

-We are educating people out of their creativity capacities.

So why are you in LASU if education kills creativity?
