Fallacy of hasty generalisation, you definitely ain't seen guys who diss their fellow guys, their homies because of a girl, they have been with you for long but will diss you in the name of winning a girl's heart, a girl they have just met, there are a lot of weak minded guys who can't balance their friendship between their friends and their spouse

Romance / Re: Ten Things You Should Know About Me Before Asking Me Out On A Date by xpac01(m): 10:53pm On Feb 15, 2018
Derajoyce:
Before taking your chance on me, these are ten things you should know about me:

1. I love words, more than I will probably ever love you. I’d pick communication over commitment, what’s the point of commitment if there’s no dialogue. I believe words unveil true persona over time.

2. I value family. I’m a lot like my mom in a lot of ways which frightens me sometimes.

3. My typical evening is sitting in bed with a bowl of fruit salad watching a documentary about ancient civilisations, aliens or crime. I don’t like chocolate or ice cream very much. I honestly think flowers are cute but I’d rather a bag of apples. I hate eating swallow, it makes me feel funny. I thinking cooking is a human responsibility. I’m a foodie.

4. I’m protective of my space, I love aloofly. I don’t think calls or texts after 10 pm is appropriate. I’m not sure how calling often equates more affection but I’d gladly take one call per day except it’s an emergency. I’d love you as an important part of my world but never the center. I expect you should have a life of your own. We would be two peas in a pod, yet two peas first.

5. I take my spiritual life extremely serious, I’m very intuned to my inner voice and I live by codes. I think weed can be healthy and I drink spirits. I love music and I dance when i’m a tipsy. I plan to travel the world and jump off a plane as many times as possible.

6. I’d often show up barefaced in an afro. I don’t mind what you choose to call me but you’d really be my best friend first. Get ready to hear all my crazy adventures and my silliest hypothesis about how things work. I love talking about books, world politics, economics and technology. I tend to be moody for no reason sometimes, but a hug usually fixes it.

7. I speak fluent sarcasm, but I swear I can be charming. I don’t like the movie Titanic and quite frankly if that’s what true love means, I’d rather not try. The day I tell you I love you; marry me or run away, either way, you’re hooked

8. I’ll fight for you with everything I have. I’ll fight our dreams and aspirations. I’ll kick your butt if i have to and stand by you in the process of becoming all that we can become. I’ll be your muse but never your mother. However, if you go running into another lady’s arm, bruh! I ain’t no Jackie Chan.

9. I love being pampered, affection shuts me up. My love language is quality time and touch. I’d touch you a lot, I show affection by feeling. Most of my ideologies float between feminism and cave-womanism; I’m partly feminist and oldfashioned.

10. I'm diligent about constant continuous growth in all aspects of life. I’m very dynamic and I don’t like indifference. I’m very sentimental and concerned about suffering, hungry kids. I believe I was born to help curb the rate of hunger amongst kids.

10. I love fast cars, I rarely buy new shoes and I think iPhones are overrated. I’m intrigued by paintings, sunsets, beaches, and water. I’ll pick long walks over fancy restaurants. My idea of a perfect Valentine is us desecrating every part of our home with naughty nudity unless it’s Paris.

10. I ‘d take you only the way you are, with your imperfections and scars. I have tons of mine too. To me, dating isn’t hangouts and text messages. I’m usually all in, full time. And, just because we are dating, doesn’t mean I dream of long veils just yet but it’s the first step. I don’t play games.

Romance / Re: Negative Effects Of Soy (soya Beans) On Men. by xpac01(m): 12:38pm On Jan 30, 2018
KardinalZik:
This doesn't sound empirical at all!

FOR AN ANTITHESIS:

If the consumption of soy (and its products) makes men develop breasts and tits, are you invariably saying that women who have small breasts can enlarge their breasts by just consuming a considerable amount of soy?

#JustApplyingCriticalThinking

Defects and genetics are definitely far street neighbours with nutrition.
Your question above sounds like asking:

"will a dwarf eating more beans cure the dwarfism??
A lady with a small breast could either be as a result of hormonal defect or genetics which is inbuilt.

If you recall your biology lesson very well, you will remember that we were taught every man has little estrogen which is basically "feminine hormone", and every female has little testosterone which is basically "masculine hormone".

Now what my post is trying to postulate is that with consumption of soy, this hormone can be triggered to an excessive order more like taking an hormonal boost injection.

Well if you think that sounds illogical, you have the whole right to eat whatsoever you wish. I shared the post just to place us on alert about what we eat.

Romance / Negative Effects Of Soy (soya Beans) On Men. by xpac01(m): 10:08am On Jan 30, 2018
Over the years, some men who’ve incorporated soy-based products, particularly soy milk, into their diet have experienced negative side effects that seem to undermine the health benefits that soy has to offer. So is soy milk really as healthy for men as it seems?

WHAT IS SOY?
Soy is a legume that grows in a pod like other beans. The seed is the edible part and comes in a variety of colors including brown, black, yellow and green. Soy is used to make a number of foods including tofu, natto, edamame, miso, tempeh and, of course, soy milk, which is made from whole soy beans, water and oil.

HEALTH BENEFITS
Soy is an excellent source of protein as well as many other vitamins and minerals, so it’s no surprise that soy milk is just as nutritionally beneficial. Here are just a few of the nutrients that you’d get from drinking one cup of soy milk:
7.9 grams of protein, which is 16 percent of the Daily Value
.5 milligrams of manganese, which is 27 percent of the Daily Value
60.7 milligrams of magnesium, which is 15 percent of the Daily Value
11.7 micrograms of selenium, which is 17 percent of the Daily Value
.3 milligrams of copper, which is 16 percent of the Daily Value
Soy milk is also low in saturated fat, calories and cholesterol. But soy milk isn’t only good for your diet; it can also impact your health in other ways. For instance, researchers at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center and the Shanghai Cancer Institute found that soy may lower the risk of developing diabetes. Soy is also a good reducer of inflammation and may protect the heart and kidneys from disease. For men, soy can provide other benefits including:
Lower blood pressure
Lower cholesterol
A lower risk of developing cardiovascular disease
Protection against prostate cancer
Some research suggests that the isoflavones in soy, particularly genistein and daidzein, are the source of these health benefits. But other research tells a different story.

NEGATIVE EFFECTS
While some researchers say genistein and daidzein are beneficial to men’s health, others say those isoflavones do more harm than good. Both genistein and daidzein can act similar to estrogen and are known as phytoestrogens, which are estrogens that are produced by plants. Since these isoflavones act similarly to estrogen, they can interfere with men’s hormones, causing side effects such as:
Breast development and nipple tenderness
Erectile dysfunction and a decrease in libido
A decrease in sperm count
Mood swings and heightened emotions
Some researchers have cited daidzein as the specific cause of these side effects as well as of damage to penile tissue and a decrease in testosterone production. Soy itself may also have harmful effects on the brain. A study conducted by researchers from Loughborough University in England showed that people in their late 60s and older who consumed large amounts of tofu had a higher risk of developing dementia and memory impairment than those who consumed a moderate amount of tofu.
So it advisable that men seek for calcium and protein nutrients in milk or other food and supplements.

Romance / Re: Does Chewing Gum Actually Stop Mouth Odor? (Today's Experience) by xpac01(m): 8:53am On Jan 30, 2018
Jamariwolff:
Don't get it wrong, I'm a neat lady who takes care of her body and also her teeth.

But sometimes, during work hours in the afternoon, my mouth gets dry and I can feel my own mouth stench when I yawn.

So I usually take 'center fruit' gum along, thus I just simply open one or two when I feel this dryness.

But could my mouth still be stinking even with chewing gum in it?

Take for instance, I was talking to my coworker today, let's call her Fox.
As we discussed, I could see Fox put on a disgusted facial expression while gasping for air apart from my mouth. She looked like someone left at the altar that's still trying to react to the shock.
I asked Fox what the problem was, she said 'nothing' as usual.

I can't afford to take a smelly mouth wherever I go, and I know that nobody in my place of work would be honest enough with me.

That's why

I came to nairaland to ask:would my mouth still stink with gum in it?

This could be you assuming something that is inexistent thereby making it real.

If that your colleague is a good friend you can simply ask him or her if your mouth smells? I am sure he/she'll definitely not lie to you.

If she's not then you can find close friends around your place of work and ask the person.

Their responses should tell you what next to do.

I am telling you this from experience. Sometimes ago I also felt same way. When I talk to colleagues at place of work I sometimes see them swerve their faces. This made me feel my mouth smells. I had start asking questions when I see someone turning away from me while we talk on an issue.
I never even knew them too were only thinking their own mouth also stinks.

Best Sis.
