We foresee a Chieftaincy title for her Indian husband any moment from now. jpphilips: @OP
Some of the basics of your literature are flawed, your position on Australia is untrue, close to 50% of Australian exports are oil and commodity based, though oil prices have fallen, precious commodities like Gold still boost their export. Agriculture contribute less than 15% of their GDP so I wonder where you got the fiction you sold to us.
Lagos is not developed because it is a gateway, that is a very myopic assertion, Lagos is developed because it has people who are accommodating, when was the last time you heard of a major crisis in Lagos save for pockets of Skirmishes? Lagos is a place where you see foreigners in the local market moving freely undisturbed, that is an edge the average westerner has over other regions. Suffice to note that a tolerant society breeds trust, trust begets investment. Some ignorant people argue that the presence of early colonial masters and the seat of government made a difference, well, I can't bet on it categorically, Calabar in cross river, Bonny and Opobo in Rivers all saw the White man almost the same time Lagos did, Calabar and Lagos stand taller than Opobo and Bonny, the later can not qualify beyond villages never mind the influence of Govt funding of the oil and gas industries with servicing companies that ensued, yet things are not better.
Two things Calabar and Lagos have in common that spurs development easily are Tolerance and Waterways, funny enough the Rivers duo have water access too yet development refuse to come because they lack tolerance. The tolerance extended to Igbos in Lagos is what the present igbo generation is abusing, the sad part is that the current Lagosian is trying to be less tolerant, rightly put, it is a smart way of making them lose that advantage, once gone, all the investments there will go with it. I wished you pointed out this part.
The rest of your post are best optimistic down that road, there are loads of uncertainties that may mar those lofty dreams. if Igbos bad sides re no tolerated outside their own states, that state must be ready to lose the development that accompanied with their presence |

Ariani: Nigeria must not be necessarily broke into pieces. We just need to separate ourselves from children of Odua and Dan fodio, and let them enjoy their one Nigeria in peace. Nigeria must survive, but it must be between odua and Dan fodio children and their allies.
Odua and Danfodio descendants, including their allies, are united by Islam, I am sure their union will be fruitful, especially with the wailing and pesky Easterners out of the way. no wahala sha, any how it may happen bt al i know is dat dis country wil nt be 1 4 more 50 yrs to com |
