Investigate on the school you applied for and there screening format. Some schools use mathematics as one of there bases like when I wrote for a technology state university like mine, you will be writing maths, English and biology only but schools like Unn,ui will test you on physics, chemistry, biology and English.
It's good that you want to start now with the preparation, it's not easy to keep the fire glowing till around August when waves of post utme will take the whole place.
By and by, get the past question of the school you're preparing for, read and study hard. You can take this opportunity to read several physics textbooks,chemistry,biology and English.
Since there's ample time for you, buoy your English proficiency by reading good novels especially foreign ones(rich novels).Don't forget dele ashade English textbooks, treat and master jamb past questions from 1970 till date,your school past questions of post utme.

If you care, check jamb scholarship here on nairaland and you will see how some of them were protecting the scholarship with their might, it was at the end that we all discovered that the three accounts in support of the scholarship were created same day and there first topic was only the scholarship .Who now knows about the jamb scholarship of a thing? Open the brackets: (a+b)(a+b) [+ signs in both brackets gives all postives]

(a-b)² = a² -2ab + b²
[- sign in both brackets. The number/letter after the sign will be positive because multiplying a negative by a negative gives a positive]

(a+b)(a-b) [ one - sign and one + sign] That's the difference of 2 squares.
(a+b)(a-b) = a² - ab + ab -b² = a² -b²

So a² -b² = (a+b)(a-b)

NOT (a-b)² (see that answer above)

and a² + b²

I don't think you can expand that any further. That means that

a² + b² does not equal (a+b)² (See the first point).

So..

(a+b)² = (a + b)(a - b) = a² +2ab +b²

(a-b)² = (a - b)(a - b) = a² -2ab +b²

a² - b² = (a + b)(a - b) AKA Difference of 2 squares!

a² +b² = a² + b²
