What should be your home tie is pictures and ID'S of your parent and relative.

Who told you that business is not a home tie?
Do you know that business can be a stronger hometie than the so called pictures and IDs of parents you mentioned?

Please, some persons on this platform who aren't well seasoned shouldn't mislead others.

Before you drop any suggestion on this platform, be at least 90% certain that it is the right info.

For your information, Job, Business and Investments are strong hometies!
It all depends on how you structure and present them in your application.

Oh! I didn’t see that part. I’m also going to apply for it next week. I’d advise you do it yourself. My FRSC plug said it can’t be influenced. But then again in Nigeria everything is possible.

Really?

Okay.
Thanks a lot.
Let me try applying myself via the portal.

Please I need urgent advice from seniors who got their driving extract from Nigeria.
I would like to know if anyone successfully got theirs by applying through the Online portal and paying the 50k naira stated therein.

Or if the best and guaranteed way is to go through FRSC official?

I discussed with an FRSC official, he billed me 80k. I want to know if the online route works so I can save 30k😔.

Need to get the extract before entering Canada next month, so I can easily take the driving test and get my G license

Can college is not useful don't Try it

Good day everyone.

I'll like to address this issue and I hope it should end this debate once & for all. I'm making this comment as someone who is not affiliated to Can College in anyway. So don't assume Can College is paying me to defend them.

1. There are numerous if not thousands of DLIs in Canada who do not offer PGWP eligible programs...of which Can College is one of them. If you conduct a thorough research, you will discover that PGWP eligible schools are majorly community/public schools with some select private schools. The Government of Canada have a reason why they did this. This doesn't mean that schools which do not offer PGWP programs are inferior to those who offer PGWP eligible programs. Once a school has obtained it's DLI status, it means the school's facility and manpower has been verified by Canadian authorities and as such you cannot say such a school is a scam.
This is just like saying a University approved by NUC in Nigeria is a scam. Whether the University is a Federal University, State or Private University...so long as the regulatory body which is NUC has approved it, such a school is 100% genuine.

2. PGWP is not a job offer neither is it automatic route to getting Permanent Residency. PGWP is just a work permit just like a study permit which allows an international student who has completed his/her studies in Canada, to remain in the country (ie: maintain a legal status) and search for jobs / work.
If you are enrolled in a school which does not offer PGWP eligible programs and you get a job before you graduate, you can comfortably apply for your work permit (closed work permit) and remain in Canada.
If after your studies you don't yet have a full time job, you can apply to another school or even in that your same school and extend your study permit and IRCC will approve it. You will continue staying in Canada till you get a full time job offer.
You even still have an option of changing DLI when you arrive Canada to a school that offers PGWP eligible programs if you wish.

3. When applying for your Permanent Residency, whether you schooled in a DLI that offered PGWP eligible programs or you didn't, it won't count!
I will advise everyone to take their time and carefully study IRCC website and know everything therein. Once you have completed a one year study or more than one year in a DLI (whether PGWP or not), you'll get your score for Canadian education on the CRS.
There are international students in Canada, who have stayed more than 5years and have still not gotten their Permanent Residency. Whereas there are some that entered Canada as students and in less than 1yr, got their PR.
I know a guy who currently has his PGWP but hasn't yet gotten a job. He is still applying for jobs as at today.
I believe the aim of everybody in this forum going to Canada via this study route is hopefully to become Permanent Residents and then get their Citizenship thereafter.
I repeat::: Studying in a DLI which offers PGWP eligible programs or studying in one which does not offer PGWP eligible programs HAS NOTHING TO CONTRIBUTE towards acquiring your Permanent Residency through Express Entry. However, some Provinces will insist on PGWP programs if you're applying for Provincial Nominations in their Provinces. But on the general Express Entry Pool, PGWP or no PGWP do not count. Factors such as age, education in your home country, work experience, IELTS, TEF, job offer etc are what will determine your getting your Permanent Residency.

4. Just like in Nigeria, Private colleges in Canada are expected to make money for themselves which they use in running their colleges... however, Government can still send them allocations as a form of support. So therefore, do not blame Can College or any other private college in Canada that you see running social media adverts to get students. It is more like a business for them. If they don't get students, their institutions will likely fold. So therefore they need yearly intakes to be able to conveniently run their colleges. Whether they make their admission process as easy as ABC...or whether they reduce their school fees to become 10,000naira does not mean they are fraudulent. Canadian Government know they are existing, they know everything going on in such private colleges, yet they haven't shut down those schools. Do you think you are wiser than the Canadian Government?

5. People who gain admission in these private colleges which don't offer PGWP programs successfully get their Visas, travel and make it. Whether you're admitted in a PGWP eligible programs or not does not in any way affect your visa application. Once it's a DLI, it's a DLI.
Visa success rates rely basically on how to arrange your supporting documents.

In summary, what you're not exposed to, don't come out and talk about it like a PRO. There are many routes to achieve one's goals in life. That you achieved yours through a particular way, does not mean that is the only way of achieving that thing.

Finally, I haven't heard of a Nigerian school defrauding a student... Talk more of a Canadian school defrauding a student. I know Nigeria as our country with it's high rate of corruption has made us to be so so sensitive that at the slightest chance, we may attribute something to be a scam, when it's actually not.

Scams exist in Canada no doubt, but they are perpetrated mostly by individuals not by organizations such as schools. So, I would advise everyone to desist from calling any school in Canada a scam unless you have evidence of them defrauding you.

I hope with this little insight this constant fight about PGWP schools and Non-PGWP schools can stop.

Thanks.

Yep. There is also the emotional side to it hence I'm usually on the fence when I get approached by people. I received ITA in nov 2020 and had the equivalent of CAD18,000 to provision for fluctuation in exchange rate and cutoff was 478 as at then.
Today its a lot different (a lot more money and higher scores). One may come across as trying to discourage others when it indeed worked out for me. Hence I encourage everyone that asks me to try express entry/PNP. Before I came to Canada the impression I had was that transition from study to PR was easy and smooth. But after meeting some students here the story is different.

Hmmmm🤦

Hey have a question. If am in canada for a 4 month course and get admitted 4 a 4yr course can i extend my permit to 4yrs

Who will give you study permit for a 4months course?

That's not feasible.

To be qualified for a study permit, your duration of study should be 6months and above.

Drivers Extract Expires after 3months, so best you get it shortly before coming. My spouse had hers but didn’t know it expires she was lucky she went to the office with a few days left. Also is it called conversion to G? You would still go through the assessments but it just makes you eligible for a G driving test which is still possible to fail.

Thanks a lot for this info.

Yeah,I'll pay the fees for G and take the assessment tests when I come over.

I appreciate 🤝

Hello house...

Pls I have a quick question:

Does driving extract expire?

I'll be arriving Canada in September. If I collect my extract from FRSC this June, will it still be accepted for conversion to G License around October/November?

Just to clarify about Lakehead university.

*Most universities who offer the accelerated BSN will require you pass the prerequisites as part of their application criteria. For these schools the program would normally run for 2 years.

*Lakehead university offers the prerequisites as part of your first year course, including some other core nursing courses. So, you do not need to write the prerequisites before applying. And the accelerated BSN program is 3years (or 2yrs 8months if you count it that way). I think this is fair because if you include the time you need to study for and write the prerequisites before applying to those schools that run the program for 2 years then it adds up.

*To get exemption for the prerequisites, you need to submit your course description from your previous studies. I submitted this and got exemption for statistics. I know someone who got exemption for psychology too. So, in first year I took psychology, anatomy and physiology plus other nursing courses.

* Also, in Lakehead university clinical placement starts from year one whether you're doing the 4yrs degree or accelerated degree. I don't know what is obtainable in other schools.

*The accelerated degree program in Lakehead university is quite intensive. Be ready to STUDY. A lot of students are able to work while going to school, you just have to know your own capabilities and decide how many hours you can sacrifice for work. Also, after your first year you are qualified to work as a PSW ($20.68/hr where I worked).
* About the 10 years timeline, I'm not sure what the conditions are in Lakehead university. But I finished my first degree over 10 years ago and was able to get admission.

Pls I sent you an email... I would appreciate it if you can reply. I'm entering Ontario this fall2023, but would want to transfer to a nursing program... Would appreciate your private coaching/guidance on how to go about it.

Thanks

I am exactly in your shoes. Offered admission to study Occupational health and safety management.
I will be looking forward to responses to this. However, due to their cheaper tuition fees, I am willing to take the risk and give it a chance even though the school doesn't offer program that offers PGWP after studies.
I currently got a visit visa, even though I am married I intend to go alone to make it easier for me to sort myself before sending for my family.
Finally, another route is after the completion of the CCEC program, u can get another short course and that will qualify you for a PGWP.

Would like to share more ideas with you if you don't mind. I have sent you a mail.

Send me a whatsapp message on zero7zero380five11eight4 to be added to CCEC Whatsapp group

This will also help
Another is a school that offer PGWP which many international students doesn’t know that is very important why applying to study in Canada 🇨🇦

Have you ever heard that someone went to Canada and came back?
It's just like saying that someone that graduates with 3rd class in Nigeria will not be able to get a job in Nigeria etc... Or someone that did HND in Nigeria is at a disadvantage.

There are two sides to a coin... There are many ways of securing work permit once you're in Canada. That's the blunt truth. The main thing is to find your way there.

Anyway... I am resuming studies by September at that same C.C.E.C... and I plan on working thereafter... So kindly send me the contact of that your friend that has gotten his visa...so I can discuss with him... We may share accommodation, etc.

Thanks.
