Bros Try reduce price na. I got this same Mp3 player for 2500 at Ogbunabali, Port Harcourt back in 2011 and a friend bought the same for 1500 at Otigba, Computer Village Lagos the following week I ended up giving mine to a friend in Minna early this year. Bought another one last month for 1450 at a supermarket at Essien town Calabar. So competitive retail price should be between 1200 to 1500.

PoliticsRe: Hoodlums Arrested With Guns & Fake INEC ID Cards In Imo by xtremely9ja: 12:53pm On Nov 15, 2013
It is rather unfortunate that political parties in this country will do anything to win election, but reading through the post some questions came to mind;
1. All allegations raised were followed in bracket as unconfirmed?
2. Even if 300 youths from each state of Nigeria were to be imported as it were into Anambra for the election, what significant impact can that wedge against the number of the registered voters in the state?
3. How do you import 300 people that may never understand a simple sentence of igbo to do something as sensitive as been alleged in a predominantly igbo speaking area, Won't they stand conspicuously out?
4. How big is the Hotel in Owerri that can accommodate 300 people at a time? (Not even Rockview the biggest in operation in owerri).
5. How come the people shown in the picture are not more than 50 if 300 were arrested, Where are the remaining 250?
6. How come the picture contains almost equal number of female as that of male, Knowing that the male folks are more predisposed to getting involved in this kind of alleged crime?
7. Why lodge in Imo when the alleged port of crime is Anambra?
8. The convoy of vehicles that will convey 300 people should definitely raise eyebrow, so why risk that a day to election?
the question goes on and on, but one of two things is sure, it's either the move was badly planned or it was targeted at discrediting Ngige.

For magnetic systems and materials yes, Buh what about other forms of matter that lack magnetic property? Say a log of wood or piece of slab.
I will recommend you read more about diamagnetisim. Because by nature all material including human are slightly magnetic. The response of our bodies to magnetic fields is billions of times weaker than iron and steel, but in the presence of fields much higher than those of common experience the electrons in every atom in that body or materials can alter their motion and produce a small magnetic field opposing the external field. The resulting magnetic force is not attractive though but repulsive.
This has been used in levitation frog, water and many "supposedly" not magnetic material. Even NASA came out in 2009 that they were able to levitate a mice successfully to study the effect of zero gravity on bones and tissues.

The Radboud University Nijmegen, the Netherlands, has conducted experiments where water and other substances were successfully levitated. Most spectacularly, a live frog was levitated.

In September 2009, NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California announced they had successfully levitated mice using a superconducting magnet,[6] an important step forward since mice are closer biologically to humans than frogs.[7] They hope to perform experiments regarding the effects of microgravity on bone and muscle mass.

Ikengawo: The ignorance on this thread is record breaking

Botswana has the highest standard of living in Africa and is rated as the most stable government.
This is a result of neglected education for the generation of nigerians that are now old enough to travel. Nigerians have an extremely dim understanding of the rest of the world and themselves and will find themselves crawling the globe to humiliate their own lives. I don't believe it's primarily igbos by far that are leading this global foolishness, but before we start saying it's and igbo problem we have to realize it's really a national one.

Igbos are ambitious, nobody will take that from them but it's almost impossible to convince them what they own is better than what they can possiby own or have and that's what leads to their desperate nature.

Yorubas are fearful, nobody will take that from them either. A yoruba person is not going to risk what he has, even if it's very little, no matter the reward and don't typically think outside of what's theres. Many yorubas don't know there was a civil war in Nigeria.

The reason I point this difference out is because the igbo ignorance is manifesting in travelling the world blindly and becoming a nuisance and the yoruba ignorance is manifesting in not being able to think or look outside of the very narrow box they already have, hence poverty and a total ignorance of anything outside of their family and region. They typically don't want more because they don't know there's is more out there and would rather brag about whats been done that complain about the need to do more. the root of the problem is ignorance. While igbos are developing and even destroying other places, their homeland is neglected, and while yorubas are boxed in by fear their homeland remains stagnant. This is why the two regions of africa that should be the most developed, aren't.

ignorance mixed with our respective cultural nature isn't doing anything for us.

Christianity EtcRe: What The Bible Says About Drinking Alcohol (wine) by xtremely9ja: 12:54pm On Aug 11, 2013
lanrexlan: The bible advise christians to drink wine and beer to forget their sorrows.
Proverbs 31:6-7 (NIV)- Give beer to those who are perishing, wine to those who are in anguish;let them drink and forget their poverty and remember their misery no more.
The bible also recommends wine in preference to water.
1 Timothy 5:23 (NIV) -Stop drinking only water, and use a little wine because of your stomach and your frequent illnesses.
From the first scripture you quoted,I will like to ask; are you perishing or do you want to perish? Are you in anguish or do you want to be in anguish? Then from the second scripture, are you sick or do you want to be sick frequently? Because the scriptures quoted never justifies drinking. Except you are perishing and you are averse to redemption or you are permanently sick and need little for you sickness from time to time.

kel4soft: IBETO has shut production down for 2weeks now. Only Dangote cement is producing. Don't know exactly how the prices will reduce.
Bros IBETO is not a cement producer rather it buys from around the world and bag for the local market. For the sake of Nigeria cement market knowledge; DANGOTE, LAFARGE WAPCO and UNICEM are the local cement producers. Even if IBETO goes out of business today it will never have any negative impact on the local market. WHen the cost of energy goes down the price of cement will go down except the producers want to start giving Nigeria free cement.
BusinessRe: Cement Price Will Reduce Soon - FG by xtremely9ja: 11:27am On Jul 31, 2013
Goverment can never force down the price of cement by any certain policy or the other than giving tax incentives and waivers on imported constituent and equipment, which in itself can never translate to a large price reduction. It will interest you to know that the price of cement from the factory is less than 900 naira but when freight is added then the prices add up to be what it is no hence price variation according to location. Also taken into account the cost of generating electicity for production and also the cost of gas and heavy oil used in the production of cement I thought if the price can come much lower as been expected now except the cost of energy is greatly reduced because cement production is energy intensive business. This are pointers to the fact that it is never about the producers but some other economic factor outside the direct control of the producers.

The Kaduna State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria on Tuesday urged the Federal Government to caution an Islamic Cleric, Sheikh Muhammadu Gumi, who they claimed was inciting Muslims against Christians in his Ramadan preachings.

Addressing a press conference in Kaduna on Tuesday, CAN’ s Secretatry in the state, Rev. Sunday Ibrahim, also advised the state government against allowing its radio and television stations to be used in attacking Christians.

Ibrahim warned that if Gumi’s inciting messages were left unchecked, they could lead to a major religious crisis in the state.

Warning that no religion had the monopoly of violence, he said Christians in the state would resist any attempt to attack them.

He said, “It has come to our notice that a Ramadan message titled ‘Christianity has loss its focus’ by a self-acclaimed Islamic scholar, Muhammed Gumi, was televised by Capital Television and aired by a radio station owned by the state government on July 17, 2013.

“Gumi went further to say that the more Archbishops, Bishops,Pastors and General Overseers, the more the iniquities we have in the society. He also made some negative comments on the personality of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Ibrahim noted that Christians in the state were not unaware about the Islamic cleric’s provocative preachings.

He added, “Many innocent Christians had been killed and maimed in the past due to instigating messages of people like Muhammed Gumi.

“We want to make it point blank that we will continue to resist as we have done in the past, despite all the injustice against Christians.

“Enough is enough. Muhammed Gumi and others like him should know that civility is not a sign of weakness, as nobody has the monopoly of violence.

“We therefore call on the Federal and Kaduna State governments to take drastic action against people like Gumi.

“We are also appealing to the Kaduna State Government not to allow its media houses to be used as tools of disunity among the people of the state and the nation at large.”

BusinessLiberty Reserve Executives Arrested To Face U.S Charges Of Laundering $6 Billion by xtremely9ja(op): 11:17pm On May 28, 2013
Liberty Reserve, a major global online cash transfer business run out of Costa Rica, has been shut down and its executives arrested to face U.S. charges of laundering $6 billion.
According to charges unveiled Tuesday by U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara in New York, "Liberty Reserve has become a financial hub of the cybercrime world, facilitating a broad range of online criminal activity including credit card fraud, identity theft, investment fraud, computer hacking, child pornography and narcotics trafficking." According to the indictment, it moved tens of millions of dollars through shell company accounts maintained in Cyprus, Russia, Hong Kong, China, Morocco, Spain and Australia, among other places.

"The coin of its realm was anonymity, and it became a popular hub for fraudsters, hackers and traffickers," said Bharara. "The global enforcement action we announce today is an important step toward reining in the 'Wild West' of illicit Internet banking."
Arthur Budovsky, the founder of Liberty Reserve, was arrested in Spain by Spanish authorities on Friday, along with Azzeddine El Amine, described as his principal deputy. The two men are fighting extradition to the United States. Authorities said Budovsky is a former U.S. citizen who renounced his citizenship and become a Costa Rican national. Five other defendants also face charges.
Liberty Reserve was shut down over the weekend. According to the indictment, it had touted itself as the Internet's "largest payment processor and money transfer system." But authorities said it had never registered with the U.S. Treasury Department as a money transferring business, even though it had more than 1 million customers worldwide, including 200,000 U.S. customers. It handled 12 million financial transactions a year, according to the U.S Attorney.
The Treasury Department also took action Tuesday, naming Liberty Reserve as a money laundering organization, using powers under the Patriot Act to effectively cut the company off from the U.S. financial system. Any global bank that does business with Liberty Reserve could also be cut off from transactions with U.S. banks. Treasury said this is the first time it's used that power in relation to a cybercurrency provider.
Related special report: The cybercrime economy
The indictment charges that Liberty Reserve allowed accounts to use fictitious identities. Unlike traditional banks and legitimate online payment processors, it did not require customers to validate their identity information.
The charges are the latest effort by U.S. authorities to battle the growing problem of cybercrime. Earlier this month, federal prosecutors in Brooklyn charged an alleged cybertheft ring with stealing $45 million from banks around the globe.
Related: Cyber attacks devastated my business
Liberty Reserve's sudden shutdown poses problems for those who were using it for legitimate business purposes.
One such business is Texas-based ePay-Cards. It sells prepaid debit cards to international clients who don't have access to a major credit card so they can make purchases in the United States. Mitchell Rosetti, ePay-Cards' co-founder, said that it has $28,000 trapped in Liberty Reserve's accounts because of the sudden shutdown.
Prior to the shutdown, Rosetti recommended his clients use Liberty Reserve because it had a lower fee structure than other services, such as eBay's (EBAY, Fortune 500) PayPal, as well as what he described as better security measures.
"It's ironic. We never received a fraudulent purchase through [Liberty Reserve.] When we attempted to use PayPal, four out of six were hacked accounts or other fraud," he said.
Related: 8 charged in $45 million cybertheft bank heist
Rosetti said he understands the need to root out money laundering and other illegal activity such as child pornography, but he feels legitimate businesses are being hurt by the action.
"We've all been placed into the same pot. It shows a lack of understanding of a model that was needed by so many people around the world," he said.

He said his clients' existing debit cards balances will not be hurt by the shutdown, but that he's not sure his company will survive, especially if the $28,000 balance is lost.

PoliticsEl-rufai’s Book Causes Chief Justice Of Nigeria To Query Abuja Chief Judge by xtremely9ja(op): 6:13pm On May 15, 2013
The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Aloma Mukhtar, has fired a query in the direction of Lawal Gumi, the Chief Judge of Federal Capital Territory, seeking explanation over an annual grant made to the FCT judiciary by the FCT administration during Nasir El Rufai’s administration.

Mr. El Rufai had said in his recently published book, The Accidental Public Servant, that his administration decided to budget an annual grant in support of the FCT judicial system to make some procurement.

“…We also decided to budget an annual grant to support our judiciary to procure court recording and automation equipment…,” Mr. El Rufai said.
Now, a coalition of over a hundred and fifty anti-corruption organisations, under the umbrella of the Civil Society Network Against Corruption, CSNAC, want the Chief Justice to investigate the use of the said budget and its legality.

In its petition, signed by its coordinator, Olarenwaju Suraj, CSNAC made a case that the outcome of the investigation be made public as a way of enhancing the respect and integrity of the judiciary.

“We are aware of these grants/ allocations were outside the FCT budget. We are therefore, by this petition demanding that the National Judicial Council ( NJC) undertake a thorough investigation into these allocations, their legality and use; and make public the outcome(S) of the investigation to guarantee the respect for and the integrity of the judiciary.

“This demand is in line with other investigations of the NJC, under your leadership, to sanitize and reposition the judiciary,” CSNAC said.
Following the petition, Ms. Mukhtar asked Mr. Gumi to explain the details of the budgetary allocation.

In the query dated May 6, 2013, she demanded that Mr. Gumi give details of the annual grants.

“I forward herewith a petition dated 2nd April, 201 against you by one Mr. Olanrewaju Suraju, Chairman of Civil Society Network Against Corruption on the above subject matter. The petition is self- explanatory. I shall be glad to have your comments within three week from the date of receipt of this letter, please,” said Ms. Muhktar.

The Accidental Public Servant
Mr. El Rufai’s book has generated a lot of controversy since its launch earlier in the year. The autobiography details some of the happenings within government circles during the former minister’s various positions in government.
Some of those mentioned have, however, denied some of the statements and actions attributed to them in the book.

PoliticsSouthern Kaduna People Beg Jonathan To Impose Emergency On Them by xtremely9ja(op): 5:37pm On May 15, 2013
Different strokes for different folks. While other people are resisting a State of Emergency or finding ways to avoid it, the long suffering people of Southern Kaduna, who have been at the receiving end of violent Islamic groups and Fulani herdsmen have cried out to the president to impose a state of emergency in their area. It would be recalled that terrorists had written a letter to the people of Zonkwa warning them that they would unleash death and blood on them because of the way they voted in the 2011 elections. NaijaPundit had exclusively published that letter over a year ago.

The statement by the Southern Kaduna group appears below;

Center for Development and Rights Advocacy

Press
Statement

Southern Kaduna Deserves State of Emergency

President  Goodluck Jonathan’s declaration of State of Emergency in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa
States surprised Nigerians; particularly those dwelling in Southern Kaduna area
of Kaduna State where series of terrorist attacks have been occurring
unabated.

Since 2011 to date, the latest being last Sunday 12th May 2013
in Zangan, Kaura Local Government where about 12 persons were killed and houses
burnt to ashes by highly sophisticated gunmen. This is one example of more than
60 reported and unreported coordinated killings that kept ravaging the area,
with not less than 500 innocent people mostly children and women killed
altogether. Yet President Goodluck Jonathan and the nation’s security chiefs did
not find it worthy to declare State of Emergency in troubled Southern Kaduna
region under terrorist siege.

The Presidential action left us with
surprise and conviction that President Jonathan and Nigeria’s security chiefs,
are really not abreast with insecurity ravaging Southern Kaduna, or at best
playing politics with security of lives and properties of innocent and law
abiding peoples of Southern Kaduna whose lives are presently at the instance of
high powered terrorists carrying out gradual genocide in the area.

The
action further left us with reality that there is more than meet the eye, as far
as the Southern Kaduna killings are concerned. It is clear that there is a
conspiracy backed by several unseen forces bound on ensuring that the area is
grounded, considering the fact that socio-economic activities in the area are
now in its shadows and malfunctioning.

Finally, we want to make it clear,
that Southern Kaduna deserve to have been included in the State of Emergency
action of President Jonathan. This is because it is the only viable option left
to make sure that security situation get cogent attention and
action.

PoliticsImpose State Of Emergency On Bayelsa Too-sheikh Gumi by xtremely9ja(op): 5:24pm On May 15, 2013

Respected Islamic cleric, Sheikh Abubakar Gumi, has called on the Federal Government to also impose a State of Emergency in the President's home state of Bayelsa. Apparently, he wants the Emergency imposed because of the recent killings of 9 police men in Bayelsa. However, Gumi was strangely quiet about Nasarawa state where about 50 police men were killed in cult violence involving the Ombatse cult.

Below is Gumi's statement. You may also read it directly on his facebook page [LINK=https://www.facebook.com/#!/AhmadAbubakarMahmudGumi?hc_location=stream]here[/LINK];
STATE OF EMERGENCY: EATING YOUR CAKE AND HAVING IT I have said it previously that the problem with Nigeria is the armed groups. Violence from Illegal arms and violence from the illegal use of legal arms. I have also said that the solution is mainly with us the people.   When a population allows illegal armed groups to hide behind it, in its canopy, then surely it cannot eat its cake and still have it. Unless such operation is carefully executed by people who value the society and feel its pain, with the utmost cooperation of the populace itself, the end result is inevitably disastrous.  When the Ombatse cultists killed scores of policemen, the government cautioned the police against reprisal killings. Here there is empathy displayed, which was absent in the North Eastern region since the inception of the BH saga. ...  Granted, we learn as we live, let the empathy be employed in quelling all the rebellious groups. Let also the state of emergency be imposed in Bayelsa state and the turbulent oil producing areas to secure the oil fields from rascals and maintain the uninterrupted flow of oil. It is equally of significance to national security and strategic importance or even more, since government cannot eat its cake and still have it. Otherwise there is a script being played. All bandits, rebellious groups and criminals should be fought rigorously without fear or favor. These groups will never prosper for ‘Allah loveth not mischief’ Q2/205. Any group that employ violence, kill people, rob people and destroy wealth will never succeed. Even governments that do that have their days numbered. What we the people should do is to repel all forms of violence. We should say it loud that no violent groups speak for us or our religion. The SS people too should denounce violent groups and individuals, and the police should arrest errant rogues threatening peace and be brought before the law. Otherwise what lessons is it teaching people? That you can eat your cake and still have it!  May Allah guide us to his pleasure and steer us out of the turbulence. Ameen.
