jazzman7711:Does it mean they could have after all been driven by the desire to see Nigeria work, rather than hate or pain of election loss as most of you adduced? Let me see your logic. The day the majority agrees they're all menu served by bad governance rather than having a sit at the table, will be when political sycophancy ends, for our collective good. |
Lol. And this is 2024 o, long years after some African countries have solved the problem of electricity. We support despicable politicians (8 years tenure) to perpetuate the rot of our institutions for the kids of the underachieving supporters to inherit. Meanwhile, the misguided support (ditto: sycophancy) of the unlightened majority empower politicians to build solid future for their own kids in developed societies. |
The clamour for Jonathan is not out of love for him or Nigeria for that matter. The North is nothing without power or semblance of it through 'indirect control'. We could only wish the current suffering induced by the government counts for something in the end by at least restructuring Nigeria. That would be the best legacy Tinubu can leave. |
Vivianat:Oh, it's no longer a fight between obidients, and PO can't be seen trying to meditate as the leader of obidients. Agbadorians, selective amnesia, and failed logic! |
It is even an eye-sore to see victims of Nigeria run amock against truth. They keep pretending Nigeria is not as described by men of good conscience. Nigeria's Justice system has always been for the highest bidder. |
Bebigiby1:Gbam. Smart people have started preparing for the possibility. A hope that Nigeria will be better under Tinubu is forlorn. It's either a revolution, or something unnatural, or join the Japa crew before 2027. A hale and hearty Tinubu will never lose election in Nigeria, the rest na noise. |
Shadomaan7:Slaves do not understand freedom, don't take the bait to try to save them from their delusion. All the voices of reason have always been silenced by the people they're fighting for (check Nigeria's history). It's a long walk to our collective freedom. The psychological warfare has already been won by the oppressors. |
GloriousGbola:Lol. See riposte. No intelligence, just noise. |
Very factual. No one has had as much influence on the supposed educated majority in Nigeria’s history. Even their Kings rise to his defense. Tinubu is a wonder. |
kedeojo:You're truly ignorant. Have you been to ikpoba slope before? Someone rightly pointed it out earlier. Now, how will the flyover connect Benin metropolis? You will mention lucky way, then what? Ikpoba slope, which is too narrow and has been the major problem in that route. This is obviously the kind of government that favours political actors just like Wike's overinflated flyovers for 8 years, yet no meaningful HDI. If he were serious about solving the problem on that route we all know what should be done. End. P.S. What Sapele Road by Kada is now, is what Ramat Park needs (similar), if Ikpoba slope can be taken care of. But no, na meaningless projects una always they celebrate. |
senatordave1:LoL. Zombie. Benin wey we mount? |
Fred55:The ghosts of drastic shift in our value system since 2015 will surely come back to hurt this generation when they get old. Let them be jumping up and down cheering amorality, later they'll realize how they helped push Nigeria to a state of hopelessness. Nigeria's distengration will not be rocket science as people are thinking. When we have helped ourselves destroy it, and it finally loses its flavour; everyone will go home quietly to pick up their rumbles to rebuild. |

gawu1:Keep your mouth shut. May what you support get close to your home. We knew what was at stake in Edo, INEC decided to be shameless. You stay online and be talking rubbish. Anything APC touches turns to ruins. The governor either go the Obaseki way or lose control of his government. People like you could never fathom the hard choices Obaseki had to make just to serve the people. This one will not have peace unless he asserts himself. Obaseki drove them in for 8 years. |
Longpriq:Bro, you can't help them. We have a serious problem. It's not about the government, it is the quality of thinking of most Nigerians. They are prepared to serve father and son, which is very possible with foreign intelligence agencies running the show. |
ElevationD:Critical thinking: If I built 2 buildings that housed different branches of Standard Trust Bank (now UBA), would I be wrong to say UBA in that context, in 2024? Sorry, I quoted the wrong person. P.S. The more people argue based on hate, the lesser the quality of their thinking and logic. |
Frigga13:After due diligence I have had to consciously learn to differentiate progressive Yorubas from this very group on NL. If you notice their value system you'll realize they have one thing in common: Yoruba Muslims. They're just like the touts you see in everyday Lago regardless of education. They love strong men, whom they grovel at their feet, have poor judgement of issues and hate freedom. |
Etumgbe:This is good. Inching closer to bagging the role to provide logistics for the distribution of 2027 election materials nationwide (2023 Lagos template). INEC, Judiciary, Security agencies already structured to deliver BAT, yet some people are crying over America's democracy. |
Faber: Faber:Trump that got an unprecedented number of votes across demographics (Muslims, Latinos, Gays, Blacks, Feminists etc). This author found a way to weave American's preference of Trump around religion as is always common with Nigerians. He forgot the thrust of Trump's campaign was Economy, Immigration, Tax policies etc. They think Americans are as primitive as most Nigerians are, who see everything through the lens of religion and tribalism. They are right about one thing, which is that he doesn't rate Africans, and that's exactly why some of us like him. It is the quality of humans thoughts that built America, not magic. Let those who are crying continue. |
Very soon US might become visa-free to more African countries that deserve respect. The citizens of Botswana, Seychelles, SA, Cape Verde etc, are not crying about Trump's emergence. They have positive developmental index in common, unlike here were majority see western countries as a ticket out of poverty. Fix your damn country (where leaders organize national prayers to fix failing national grid). Una eyes go peal. |
Ah! What do we care? He should continue to whittle down his chances at the polls by trying to reorient Nigerians to think better. We'll just use it against him in 2027. After all, Tinubu must continue the good work he's doing. My neighbour has lost weight without being on diet. |
iwaeda:America's interest would always come first. That may mean different things to different political actors in Nigeria. Personally, I don't think he would have sanctioned redacting the document containing BAT'S alleged infractions. Trump no send anybody papa. |
Why won't they rush? You think they've enjoyed being lackeys to big brother through unending warmongering? They know what Trump represents. Everyone should go fend for themselves. |
See headline! |
Kukutente23:You're wrong. They're Nigerian kids, Northern kids are in NNPC, FIRS etc. (#copied). They're all victims of Nigeria. The elephant in the room you are all ignoring is keeping minors in detention since August without arraignment. Is that how a criminal justice system should work? Adults can barely feed well, much less kids that have been in detention for about 3 months. If you're not ashamed of Nigeria, then sorry. |
nairalanda1:You're insanely clever. One thing kept popping up in this article: "estimated billing". You're obviously as mischievous as Tinubu. Pay pay pay, but no regards for operational standards or transparency. In the countries you referenced, is estimated billing the core of their revenue base? What's the instrument of determining who pays what, on each band? |
JASONjnr:The word 'civil servant' is confusing to you. Go and learn about the principle of wealth re-distribution. Civil servants don't have people dependent on them? They can't boost productivity through financial support? You think the state of the economy today is solely because we don't sell enough oil? |
Eteka1:Ignorant folks like you will never understand that CAUTION is not weakness. Na so we for enter war with Niger. When it will start now, you'll start wailing. For a government that has pushed people to the wall, Niger Delta is not a place you ignite fire because of the ego of one man. We go dey here observe. PS . I am almost certain there'll be no election by 2027. As the Judiciary shows it's unclothedness by the day; people lose the taste of civility. Mark it down. History won't forget those that led Nigeria to the brink, and those that urged them on. |
Kukutente23:You'll never see nairaland1 here. Taxation without fiscal transparency and operational standards is the height of corruption. Yet, people think Nigeria would ever work like this. A thief can never hold others accountable. |
When it's time to discuss governance now, all of you will go mute. E reach political talk now, analysts done full everywhere. 'Master strategist' flying everywhere when people are groaning under hardship. Most Nigerians have trully been enslaved. |
Very good. Let's see those with selective morality who will cry about fowl play when it gets to their state. |
Ground .. them go disappear with their juju join
