On 12/5/18, it happened on that faithful day and edd is 29th may 2018. I woke up around 3am when I noticed severe pain around my waist region. I usually feel such pain so I taught it would subside. By 4am, I was still wiggling in pain. As a ftm, it didn't occur to me that labour has started. I woke dh and told him I didn't understand my body anymore. He suggested we go to the hospital. When he saw how serious it was, he quickly went to my neighbour who has a car and begged him to take us to the hospital immediately. On getting there, I was checked and was 4cm dilated. My heart skipped a beat. I started praying and singing for God to grant me safe delivery. I was instructed to walk around the hospital to hasten dilation. I was hungry, so dh bought me rice, but I vomited everything soon after I ate. The pain was bearable and I was still able to gist with dh in the labour room. When it was 1pm, the show started. Contractions started coming every 5mins, I screamed and called on God in pain. By 3pm, the Dr said I was 8cm dilated. The pain became unbearable. I started saying all sorts of nonsense. The nurses, my mum and dh all took turns to rub my back. My God! At a point, I thought I was going to die before I reach 10cm dilation. By 5pm, I was already getting weak and couldn't cry any longer. I was just telling God to either save me or take my life. Behold, around 6pm, I felt a strong urge to poo. I quickly told my mum that the baby is ready. She ran to call the matron. The labour room was quickly put in order for me to push and I started pushing. After 3 solid push, the matron said I was just wasting my time. The Dr came, and then told me to hold my legs, and look at my navel before pushing, I did. And baby's head came out with cord tiring her neck. It was quickly cut off, and I was asked to push again. This time, I pushed with all my strength three times and my princess came out crying. It was a great joy to behold, I started thanking God for seeing me through. I had a tear, so I was stitched, and some drugs was inserted inside my anus and I was injected on my left thigh too. My baby weighed 2.4kg, my mum was overjoyed. Hubby was filled with smiles and I was discharged the following day. I thank God for the testimony. He is indeed a great God, the mighty man in battle. I trusted him and he didn't fail me. I believe my B.S will strengthen someone, so I had to share. To all TTC, I pray that the God that stood beside me shall intervene in your case. To all expectant mums, You shall all deliver your los safely. Mother and baby alive and father rejoicing shall be your portion in Jesus name. Amen.

Thanks so much mamas. I went back for the induction and Dr asked that I give it till monday cos my pcv is abit low. Gave me drugs to boost and advised me to work on it as well.I pray labour will come on it's own before then.

That's her amniotic fluid and could be water breaking

Water breaking is usually just prior to serious contraction and birth. For all you know, she's is seriously dilated. A check at the hospital would rule all these out. If she's checked at the hospital and found to be still in the early stages of labour, she will most likely be sent home.

During my first pregnancy my water broke and there was no sign of labour...(happened at 3am) at 7am I was at d hospital and was asked to hang around for a while....ended up at the theatre at 8pm.

If she loves herself and her baby this question won't even come up...she should just go to the hospital

Hello mamas, please how do I deal with tiredness and dizziness, I’m 12weeks gone and always tired.. I can’t even go from the room down to the kitchen cos of tiredness and dizziness, haven’t been cooking cos I can’t even stay long in the kitchen without wanting to lie down, I keep buying food in litres. If not for my house help that comes everyday, my house would have been in a mess cos I hardly stand up from the bed. I keep postponing going to register for antenatal cos of tiredness. DH has been very supportive and I feel for him, please how do I deal with this?? Food aversion is even another problem, I think I’m already tired of this pregnancy I’m a FTM. Please help!!!

I was in your shoes two weeks ago,I will advice you visit your doctor. Blood capsule was prescribed to be taken once a day ...it really helped me, i can't assure that the tiredness will disappear completely but according to the doctor your heart is pumping more than usual in order to supply blood for you and your baby that's why you feel tired.

Take one day at a time and happy bumping to you!

Zobo or Zoborodo is a Nigerian beverage made from dried hibiscus plant flowers. Zobo is usually served cold and because of its sour taste sugar and pineapple juice are often added to it. Zobo is not recommended for pregnant women in their first trimester or those who are undergoing fertility treatments. This is because it can lower levels of oestrogen in the body and can prompt menstruation which could ultimately lead to a miscarriage. Those in their first trimester especially should avoid drinking this drink. "Research on oestrogen, pregnancy and fertility performed at the Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology in India indicate the oestrogen qualities of the tea may interfere with healthy reproductive activity and affect childbearing and female fertility. Side effects from consuming hibiscus tea on fetuses are unclear." After the first trimester, when the pregnancy is established, zobo may be safe for pregnant women and could deliver some potential benefits.

I usually just stay away from any food item that I'm not sure of consuming while pregnant. There are lots of contradicting reasearches online on Zobo.

Secondly, certain myths suggest that consuming pineapple in pregnancy can result in a miscarriage as pineapple consists of bromelain which softens your cervix and induces labor.

You know pineapple is used in preparation of Zobo drink. I personally ate 2 big pineapples to induce my labour at 39 weeks and 4days, though I didn't go into labour but my water broke (story for another day).

Anyway, follow your instincts there are alot of researches on what to and what not to consume during pregnancy. Read! Read! Read!

No two pregnancies can ever be same....what worked for Mrs A might likely not work for Mrs B.

Pls, mamas in the house based in Port Harcourt. I need your recommendations on a very good hospitals.I and DH were using Pamo Clinics before now. Of recent their standard has gone down. They are understaffed and have a lot of rude staff. The Doctor there after I had a positive PT never even mentioned anything like prenatal vitamins or Folic acid. Asked me to come register ante natal when i am 12 weeks gone. It was even my personal research on babycenter.com and this thread, that made me know i was supposed to be taking Folic acid and other vitamins. I don't feel safe using them at all, can't risk my first baby with those kind of doctors. Please, kindly suggest the good hospitals you know and have used in Port Harcourt.Thanks a lot.

Hi Mama, As a former PH breed before my great migration

I would recommend Prime at Cocaine Village most companies use them at least i know 2 of my friends that gave birth there.

Secondly, St. Catherine at Transwoji road before slaughter bridge, alot of companies also use them.

There are still many more good hospitals there let's wait for other PH Mamas to chook mouth

I bought the rice o b4 I eat am for dream but I prefer Kilimanjaro's coconut rice so natural, crunchies' add a lot of Maggi in theirs I could taste it, not nice for me but I still devoured it because I was hungry.

I will try Kilimanjaro and compare ...but now no rice craving

I think it's house twenty you are referring to where we have macgrill shawarma.That guy is good abeg.Best shawama joint in Uyo and that extra pepper is heavenly. Have not eaten their before just the shawama but seriously Uyo is fun if you know people or grew up here .Have heard a lot of people mostly visitors complain of how boring the town is.There's also a joint at Udo Udoma called Ojuelegba opposite one estate close to mboho mkaprawa Ibibio.They sell fresh too including amala and the rest.

my Uyo sisters I see you all. I'm from Uyo, born and brought up in Uyo. marriage too me to Port Harcourt but I'm always in Uyo for every holiday. Uyo indeed is a small place.i used teaching hospital for my two boys. firstson was in 2015 the state of teaching hospital was not as bad as what I experienced Dec 2017 when I had my second son.the only problem with them is the attitude of workers not doctors, the cleaning system and the long distance one has to walk in other to make payment or buy something. but in all I like their professionalism when it comes to their doctors. premier is my HMO hospital.they are okay but I still prefer teaching hospital in terms of equipment. I have been in theaters of both outfit. teaching hospital still tops chat.i have used another hospital for my scan which is new by name fullcare hospital at ekpanya street opposite holy ghost ambassador's church. they seem to bed cool. I think that is the hospital you people are talking about.there is a joint at Clement using road in Abak road housing off abak road by Apico investment house.the Clement using road is the street beside St Patricks primary school which is opposite the only Catholic Church at Abak road. their pepper rice Na die... discovery park in front of the old stadium at udo Umana street where the Akpan Andem market is is another good sport. there is another joint known for it's Fisher man soup at ewer housing estate. the road you have road safety office if you enter from nwaniba road it is adjacent one ministry before Domingo hospital if you enter from sun center to Ben Udom's it is before road safety. the joint doesn't have name nor sign post. hope you all will manage this few joint for now... thank you

Yes laziness and lack of business sense is what i noticed here imagine rushing to a shop to go buy stuff as late as 9am but the shops are yet to open because it probavly rained overnight and they are still sleeping because of cool weather lol. Omo i buy in bulk now and keep, i can't shout.
But I'm still grateful to God for blessing me in this town, I lost hope of carrying a child and it happened here.

My Uyo mamas I see you all..Most people here use Anua or uuth but there are few good private hospitals like premier along four lanes you can try them.Talking about party jollof i don't know where one can get that except crunchies or any of these fast food but you can get nice white rice n stew sha. Oliver twist cooks well try them.Uyo is coming up compared to ph but it's calm and cool.

Crunchies coconut rice and peppered Chicken is really nice too(might just be my pregnancy taste buds)

For normal family checkup and stuffs we use St. Athanasius Hospital. Anua is okay for Antenatal but for delivery I don't know o....

I moved here after my wedding in 2015 and I am equal to a newbie
I don't really know places but I used eat alot from eni stores(the bar side) they have lots of breakfast options if you go early.

As for the Antenatal I will be registering at Anua hospital because it's closer to where I live but I will be giving birth at UCTH Calabar, that's where I had my first son(also not too comfortable with the health care services in Uyo)

People at Uyo are not generally internet savvy, at least compared to PH I grew up.....so I am even suprised to meet you here and also hear of Uyo mama in ttc thread.

Would like to meet up with you if you don't mind
