MartinCorridon:
Obidients are celebrating polling units.

When they see State level results.. they will start to cry.

Asiwaju flogged them mercilessly.

I said it before. APC Primaries was Tinubu's hardest battle. Yet he won that with an embarrassing landslide.

His 1st term, 2023 will be far easier than the APC primaries while his 2nd term in 2027 will be easier than this one.

The man is a Don.
they think one polling unit in the east can make obi president

Nigeria2day:
The National Chairman of the Labour Party, Julius Abure, has raised the alarm over an alleged plot to rig the elections in Lagos and Delta States by deliberately delaying the transmission of the Presidential and National Assembly elections to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC’s central server.

In a statement on Saturday, Abure alleged that “the officials of the INEC in connivance with the security agencies are claiming that the BVAS has suddenly developed a fault and, therefore cannot function”.

Abure said that “information from the party’s field men has it that in places like Agege, Kosofe, Oshodi-Isolo, Surulere, and Ibeju Lekki, amongst others where results show that Labour Party won convincingly, the INEC officials claim that the BVAS suddenly developed a fault”.

I always come here for political news update and I also followed the campaign here. I read many times how this election will be over by 12 pm on 25th but is almost 12: 05 where I am and it's not clear who is going to win.

Lagos is not in the bag yet for Asiwaju which is disappointing.

Did SW fail Asiwaju? It will be bad if so.

North is not 80% sure which makes things edgy. We cannot afford to fail in delivering Asiwaju. If we fail it is over for us in Fed Politics.

Still hoping all the same.

Politics › Re: Makinde Finally Asks Oyo Residents To Vote Atiku by yarimo(m): 12:24am On Feb 24, 2023
ogododo:
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo has urged voters in Oyo State to “vote for PDP from top to bottom” in the upcoming polls. Mr Makinde gave the advice in a newsletter shared on Thursday, ahead of the presidential and National Assembly elections billed for February 25.

Mr Makinde’s call deviates from his previous stance not to support the election of Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar. The governor, alongside four other governors in the PDP (popularly known as the G-5) has for months railed against Mr Abubakar and the party leadership over differences in the composition of the party’s presidential ticket and the headship of the PDP, which are being held by to the northerners.

Mr Makinde, who is also seeking a second term in office, has now apparently backtracked after he initially refused to support Mr Abubakar following his emergence as a candidate from the northern region at the party’s primary held in May.

In the newsletter obtained by Peoples Gazette on Thursday, the Oyo governor asked his supporters to encourage undecided voters to strictly choose his party, the PDP at the ballot.

“So, if you still have any undecided voters on your list, this is the time to call them up and help them decide to vote for the PDP from top to bottom in Oyo state.

“By next time I write you, we will, barring any electoral reruns, have a new President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Vote wisely, this Saturday, so we do not have a repeat of the pains and suffering we have experience in the last eight years,” the newsletter read in part.

Mr Makinde has been battling to regain the support of some Oyo electorates, especially party faithful who had been against his initial refusal to support the PDP presidential candidate.

The Oyo governor, alongside Nyesom Wike of Rivers state, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu, Samuel Ortom of Benue, and Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state had been demanding the resignation of the PDP’s national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, as a pre-condition to support Mr Abubakar’s presidential ambition.

On September 20, 2022, the aggrieved governors who later named themselves the ‘Integrity group’ met in Port Harcourt, Rivers capital, and announced their withdrawal from the presidential campaign council of Mr Abubakar.

Nicknamed ‘G5’, the governors were absent from the inauguration of Mr Abubakar’s campaign council on September 28.

The governors had argued that a northerner cannot be the PDP’s presidential flag bearer and the national chairman also hails from the same region.

They claimed that Mr Ayu had even before the primary promised to resign should a northerner from his region emerge as the presidential candidate of the PDP.
