Millz404: Today at the Rivers state campaign of the APC, the national anthem started and Tinubu was seen raising his walking stick with his two hands up. He had to be asked by oshomole to bring his hands down and place a hand on his chest. very unfortunate for a Christian presidential candidate like obi to engage himself in bribing |

Politics › Re: Why Are These People Agitating For Old Naira Notes Instead Of The New One? by yarimo(m): 8:58pm On Feb 15, 2023 |
It's because you don't know how your parents manage to get new Naira notes to cook the food you just eat that is why you are busy asking silly question EriMma1: Why are these people fighting for the old naira notes to still be in circulation when they should be fighting for the new ones?
It is true what the CBN govnor is on and about with this policy as its evident from their actions against the ban of the old naira notes that they really wanted to rig the forthcoming elections with the heaps of old naira note stashed up in their vaults.
Instead of beating a dead horse, I believe what should be a cause of concern here is making the new notes available in abundance and not going back on a concluded matter for their selfish interest.
It's just one week to elections. Let's endure till after the elections. We've come a long way already. No one will die enduring the next few days. So I stand with the CBN gov on his insistence of the ban of old notes until after the elections to reduce buying of votes to the barest minimum.

Politics › Re: Why Port Harcourt APC Presidential Rally Was A Flop by yarimo(m): 8:51pm On Feb 15, 2023 |
KenOne: As we all know the APC presidential rally was held in Rivers State today and the rally was really a flop going by the standard characterised with such rallies at present and past.
I will lay a background why the APC presidential rally in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital was a flop, notable names in Rivers APC like Amaechi and co. didn't show up.
1) Amaechi led Rivers APC withdrew their support for Tinubu the moment Tinubu started romancing with Governor Wike and started negotiating a deal with Wike to trade APC to Wike for his support.
Yes in politics there's alliance and negotiation with another party or individual but you must carry your home front party in this case which happens to be Rivers APC along with the negotiation, discussion, deal, alignment and realignment as it were, let them be part of it instead of feeling betrayed and thrown under the bus.
2) After the APC presidential primary Senator Tinubu loyalists like former governor of Edo state Adam Oshiomhole, present governor of Ebonyi state Dave Umahi, present governor of Lagos state Sanwo-Olu, Speaker of House of Representative Femi Gbajabiamiala, governor of Ondo state Akereodolu, and former governor of Ekiti state Fayemi became pal with Wike infact they were frequently visiting Wike in Port Harcourt and making remarks that demarketed Rivers APC.
These Tinubu loyalists comes to Port Harcourt every now and then to see governor Wike as part of their horse trading and negotiation without recognizing the former minister Rotimi Amaechi Rivers APC and carrying them along with whatever negotiation they have with Wike that was wrong and betrayal.
3) In 2018/2019 Senator Tinubu was backing and supporting Magnus Abe in detriment of Rivers APC that eventually led to them not participating in all 2019 general elections except the presidential election. Tinubu and governor Wike bankrolled all the court cases of Magnus Abe against Rivers APC . Same Tinubu asked Magnus Abe to move to SDP when he failed to win the APC governorship primary in Rivers State.
4) Composition of Tinubu presidential campaign council has loyalists of Magnus Abe who is now the SDP governorship candidate, Tony Okocha one of his loyalists that claims they're APC members but goes around campaigning against all the Rivers APC candidates.
5) Not forgetting Adam Oshiomhole a Tinubu loyalists was invited by governor Wike late last year in Port Harcourt to commission a project to the chagrin surprise of many Adam Oshiomhole said they'll allow Wike have his way in Rivers state in return for him to support Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Like or hate him Amaechi remains one of the best governor of Rivers state and loved by genuine, neutral and reasonable people, because he was fair to all irrespective of party affiliation and his human capital development through job creation as governor. But his party APC is just a no to Rivers people, as much as APC and Buhari is hated in Rivers State because of Jonathan his wife Patience sentiment, Amaechi was able to give Buhari over 150k votes in 2019 and the apathy that greeted Rivers APC as a result of not been on the ballot in 2019.
Wike and Tinubu alliance will not make Tinubu win Rivers state because of Wike's arrogance and his divisive nature of politics, the hatred for Tinubu and APC. Couple with the fact that Amaechi has withdrew his support for Tinubu.
No Rivers APC member that is a firm believer of Amaechi will vote Tinubu talk more of the neutrals. Rivers state will be won by Atiku or Peter Obi.
Wike is on a journey of no return with his alliance with Tinubu. this is next president of Nigeria

Politics › Re: Tinubu's Position In The 2023 Presidential Election Will Be A Distant-third by yarimo(m): 8:45pm On Feb 15, 2023 |
You need to take your malaria drugs seriously SharpmindsAC: The agenda is not only to make him irrelevant at the federal level by ensuring that he finishes at a far-third-distant position in the forthcoming presidential election, but to also, utterly retire him from active politics to the point that he loses his grip on power not only in the south west, but also in Lagos State, his domain.
At the end of the day, there won't be a formidable politician from the Yoruba descent, however, it is also a good thing as it will give room for the rise of new giants - the current breed having failed woefully.
Yes, you heard me, Tinubu and his contemporaries messed up big time! And because of their greed, the 30-year cycle of Yoruba-dilemma continues... First, Awolowo (1963), then, Abiola (1993), and now, Tinubu (2023)!
How beautifully would it have been if only Osinbajo was fielded? Even I myself would have made it a point of duty to support his candidacy and contribute my own quota to his campaign. And I'm sure that so would have many other Yoruba youths teaming behind Peter Obi today. However, the moment Tinubu became the almighty and said 'Emilokan', he blew Yoruba's already slim chances at becoming the next president of the Federal Republic...
Tinubu also talks too much! The mess we find ourselves currently is because of him. He is too frivolous and loves to show off and, act as the don. He is not calculative! This election has exposed him not to be as smart as his followers say he is.
How could he say on national television that Buhari lu'le three times and he came to his aid the fourth time? Even if Buhari is a weakling and impotent, he sure definitely must have those who would do all to fight for him. You don't do certain things until you have laid hold on power!
Since he made that pre-primary election speech, the battle line was drawn between him and the presidency, the Yorubas and the northern elites. He portrays a threat to the power-thirsty northerners (who are not willing in the first place to let go of power) that he cannot be controlled. Yes, he cannot be controlled or influence, but he could have fooled them to believing they could until he gets what he wants...
That is exactly the edge Osinbajo has over Tinubu. He portrays a personality that can be controlled and influenced. In fact, almost like a stooge - someone that will allow them have their way in his reign.
Unfortunately, our sad story continues as we may be in a country where the Fulanis continues rulership for another 8-year term! It is a sad reality but there's very little we could do as things stand. And every attempt to now sponsor Yoruba Nation agitation by this same Tinubu may be in futility.
When the Fulanis brought #RUGA, he did not comment. When they sieged the southwest and camped in our forests and started killing and maiming our people, he saw nothing bad. When the daughter of the foremost Pa Fasanranti, leader of the Afenifere was killed by the Fulanis, he made matters worse by his comments as he bloated jargons at the residence of the bereaved elder-stateman.
Well, back to the forthcoming elections, we all should brace up and expect a heavy military presence in the south for at least a month or for as long as we would accept the result of the election.
This simply implies that we should not expect that they would recall the soldiers deployed here for the elections. And for your information, they may end up bringing even Nigerien soldiers that do not understand even English language or perhaps suit up their Boko Haram militant group all in a bid to show brutal force should in case you do not want to accept their permutations at once!
Ensure that from henceforth, do all you can to stock up and prepare for at least two-three or even four weeks of no reasonable business activities.
Do your best to secure your family members. There is a shaking in the land and it will take along with it the feeble.
I am Olanrewaju O. Ojuoluwa, Youth Advocate and Social Reformer. I may not make sense to you but at least, try your best to secure yourself and your family in the coming days...
I rest my case! |

Guaranteed votes in nairaland and Twitter Trollronaldo: It's what people don't realize.
There's already a 5million head start for Obi from southeast+Rivers that other candidates need to find a way to meet.
And another atleast 2million votes waiting for him from the remaining other SS states.
All he needs to to is to go to Tinubu's territory in SW, steal 1.5m ( Lagos will help him reach the figure).
Taraba, Benue, Kaduna, Abuja, Plateau and nasarawa can all together give him 2million.
Whatever he gets from the remaining states will be enough to at least put him in the rerun without considering the 25% requirement for now.
Peter Obi don already start this race because there will be voters apathy in SE as long as their brother is on the ballot
