PoliticsRe: When Will Gej Stop Supporting Libya Rebels? by yd849ja: 9:04am On Sep 05, 2011
I am sick and tired of people always thinking there is always hidden agenda of some sort whenever the western world is in support of particular section or group in any country. I just don't get it, these to me seem more like the ones who are even more brainwashed by some stereotype theories and agenda of some anti-western theorists. When the bloodless coup was happening in Tunisia and Egypt no one think it was a hidden agenda of the west, why now that its Libya's turn that it is all of a sudden. If Gaddaffi has surrender to the will of the people after 42years of dictatorship, self imposition, this would not even be happening.

And Why shouldn't Johnathan support freewill, freedom of people to gather themselves and self rule their country as a against a tyrant. At times I wonder what Nigerians really want? Democracy or Autocracy (Dictatorship) because at this point I think we have a lot of ignorant and confused ones in midst saying Gaddaffi is the best African ruler. Can we even ask ourselves this question, at what cost to his own people? South Africa and their likes that are in the support of Gaddaffi need to come out more with the facts of how much Gaddaffi, as an individual and not Libya has invested in SA's tourism, mines properties etc and all the largess they collect from him. They are benefiting from Libya's wealth at the detriment of Libyans.

And for those Nigerians who are still in Libya I wonder what they are still doing there after 6months of war?

TV/MoviesRe: Karen's Victory Shows Resilience Of Nigerian Youths - Minister by yd849ja: 9:40am On Aug 05, 2011
I wonder what all the fuss is about the guys statement, karen (character) in question and the show itself.

All I can say and see here is hypocrisy: a typical and synonymous syndrome with an average Nigerian.
We have on the average the highest numbers of churches and mosques goers all put together compare to most countries of the world and still we are the most corrupt, morally bankrupt, ill-mannered, selfish, intolerant, self righteous religious bigots who only get righteous for the sake of it.

Comparing this girl to an armed robber, 419 etc is ill-informed, unfounded and above all insensitive and unscrupulous of you all because she won  a reality show rated 18 which I'm very sure makes no sense to all you saints and I guess non of you were forced to watch it anyway. It was not a contest for church and mosque goers neither was it for the geeks nor was it a JETS show.

Why must everything be about morals that is actually non-existent in this country anyway not that I subscribe to immorality but why can't we let people be who they want to be and bear the consequence of their actions like the Bible and the Quran thought us all and stop passing judgement over people.

She won $200 000 and I can tell you it was hard earned and she deserves it. Let her be she's a Nigerian youth, she doesn't claim holiness like some of you that we know and if by any chance she comes to your churches to give her tithe tell your pastors not to take it. PSYCHOS!!!
PoliticsRe: Reuben Abati On Tenure Elongation (before Before) by yd849ja: 10:01am On Aug 03, 2011
What Nigerians want from President Jonathan is purposeful leadership. Today, he takes two oaths: the oath of allegiance (very succinct) and the oath of office President (rather prolix, it should be revised); as stated in the Seventh Schedule of the Constitution which grants him a four-year tenure. Now that he says “four years is too short”, we expect that he will avoid all the shortcomings that makes that possible, and he knows what to do: “hit the ground running”. Any sign of tardiness on the part of his administration can be rightly interpreted as an attempt to justify an extension of his tenure.

Dr Abati I guess 6 years Tenure bill is not a "sign of tardiness" on the part of his(your) administration which can rightly be interpreted as an attempt to justify an extension of his tenure sorry Tenure elongation  grin grin grin grin
I guess Abati is not a saint after all, he is just a social critic who is also one of us: A TYPICAL NIGERIAN WHO DANCES AT THE WAVE OF CARROT IN HIS SIGHT TO DESTROY A LIFE LONG ACHIEVEMENT.

"When he says four years are not enough to do anything, he gives the impression that he does not really appreciate the people’s deep yearning for change, or that he has not been listening to them. We all know it takes a while for the wrong kind of Ministers and Commissioners to settle down, and that such persons can waste everyone’s time, but those are not the kind of Ministers Nigerians want. Nigerians want President Jonathan to choose his cabinet wisely. He must avoid failed politicians who lost elections and are looking for another job in government by any means, PDP chieftains who expect to be rewarded for their contributions in their states, and definitely not the wives, sons and daughters of self-appointed Godfathers and political entrepreneurs"

I just don't get Abati if he can write this in his article why is he now a proponent of such an idea in less than 100days in office for his master.
"The President didn’t hit the right notes at all. That speech was a cop-out. It is not even what he said. The timing is wrong"
Now that Dr. Abati is part of the government I can see how apt and succinct the idea is right, the right notes are now coming into your eardrums Mr Editorhuh?  tongue tongue tongue tongue n you are dancing to the tunes. who would be our watchmen now and stand by the gatehuh?  God help this country.

If that speech was written for President Jonathan, the speech writer should be suspended, and never allowed to write a Presidential speech again.

I guess u must have taken over this guys portfolio now.

"It is not true that four years “is too short” for a President or a Governor to make a difference. The President didn’t get it, and it is important that he does. The period appears too short because many of our elected Governors and Presidents (well, we have had only a few) begin to think of what to do, only when they get to office. They have no blueprint, no clear understanding of what is required, they do not even listen to the people well enough, and the parties that brought them to power have no manifesto, no plan of action, no defined contract with the Nigerian people. Given such background, the complexity of bureaucracy and the enormity of official powers could prove so intimidating that the typical overnight man of power could find himself or herself completely ill-prepared for high office. But this is what we want changed. In states where the Governors are prepared, we have seen so much done in four years"

PoliticsRe: Pdp Appears To Be Popular In The South West ? by yd849ja: 4:15pm On Apr 11, 2011
What you all fail to understand is that growth and development can only come about when there exist true democracy as provided for by truly and deeply rooted issue based oppositions and its also quite unimaginable that in a free and fair election there should be a landslide dominance by one party except the opposition has no real and popular candidates in their ranks. I can only tell you that what we are seeing in the southwest is a true democracy, where all are choosing according to their conscience. ACN shouldn't be the only one winning because as bad as PDP is there must exist among them some good candidates who are as good as BRF and equally popular in their own constituency or even better. I for one do not want an outright dominance by one party over the rest hence what is being manifested in the southwest. ACN shouldn't win the whole southwest as this can only amount to tyranny as observed in the PDP in this outgoing dispensation. A 58% to 42% divide wouldn't be a bad idea. At this moment we need PDP to mount an ideology based war against ACN in the next 4years providing us with an alternative to ACN giving us more than enough reason why they would do better than them if voted in come next election, by way of this Nigeria starts her march to development and we can all then start looking forward to a brighter future as a nation.

The opposition’s strategic mistake
By Kayode Ogunbunmi

"He cut the image of relaxed assuredness, even cracking jokes with the panellists."  What do you expect from all those panelist? They were only playing out the script the other candidate were accusing him.

"It is possible that, as a tactic, staying away probably served its purpose. There are even insinuations that some of the candidates stayed away because they did not quite perform well in the NN24 debate moderated by NEXT’s Kadaria Ahmed. According to this rendering, the campaign managers of these candidates would not then rather have them exposed to another public grilling. This is probably tosh. But then, how do we know, when the candidates did not show up to speak for themselves?" This is the most stupid assumption I've ever heard from a supposed unbiased columnist"

"I, therefore, think that the boycott is both wrongheaded and a strategic mistake. Even if the candidates were aggrieved, participating in the Wednesday event could only be a gain-gain situation for them. They would have, for one, reached another set of Nigerians whom they couldn’t reach in the first debate. They could have confronted Mr Jonathan on air directly and seek to discomfit him. They would have appeared as statesmen who will not be dissuaded by a little thing as having to debate without one of their opponents."
I also, therefore think you and your columnist are in no little way blinded by your bias for Jonathan. Didn't it occur to you that the President was unusually smooth and relaxed on the one man unopposed charade of a debate than usual- which is very uncharacteristic of GEJ so this can only go a long way to also substantiate the initial claims of him seeing the debate questions.

FamilyRe: Annoying Spousal Habits by yd849ja: 12:10pm On Dec 16, 2010
Dont get me wrong my wife is a very very good cook but I hate it when she hav 2 ask me what I want 2 eat all d time so she can cook and I also hate d fact tht I hav 2 get home b4 she starts cooking, her excuse she wants me eating fresh n warm, wht is d warmer there 4.

She hates d facts tht I like playin PS3 (football) and she then comes up with d philosophy tht I'm 2 old 4 it hence she brings up a subject 2 distract my attention so she can complain tht I wasnt paying attention 2 her. it so annoying wht manner of man doesnt play game dis time n age 2 unwind.

Another one she does is bn defensive even when she knows she was wrong, she hardly admits guilt right away but after I get angry she begs 2 say she was sorry, I guess she likes winding me up a bit (always d first 2 say sorry even when she wasnt d one at fault at times, I guess tht strengthens d fabric of our marriage) I love her so dearly.
