TKO!!! |
alosnika: Your leaders insult you when they do not perform their obligations and steal with impunity what belong to every Nigerians. You don't pray for such, you take them out of positions. The problem with Nigerians is that we think we are religious. it's incredible how we deceive ourselves that way. Prayers would not give us good roads, good medical facilities, employment opportunities, etc. If all these are gotten by prayers, then it means the Americans, Canadians, British, Japanese, Chinese, Germans are world class prayer warriors. The bible says do not be deceived, God cannot be mocked, for whatsoever a man sows that shall he also reap. How do you pray to God to fix your roads, create jobs, or good medical facilities when your leaders on a daily basis embezzle monies meant for all these projects. When you sow corruption, you reap the fruits of corruption. Nobody stands before a blackboard and prays the principle of mathematics to solve 2+2, you pick up a chalk and applies the principle of mathematics. I remember someone that started praying after exam that 'God, please let Lome be the capital of Ghana'. I asked why he said because he chose Lome as his answer in his exam. I am sure we all witnessed how the Egyptians changed their government recently and saved their futures. Until that day, when all Nigerians can come together with one voice and fight any government that fails in its obligations towards Nigerians, nothing will change. if you like sleep in cathedral everyday praying! Nothing will change. Freedom is not actually free, it has a price, until that day when Nigerians are ready to be free from corrupt government officials, nothing will change.Good bless you man...please tell them. The so called religion that we so much preach we hardly practice it ask them if it was prayer that laid it upon the world powers leaders minds to think and dim it fit to build a better future for their unborn generations. Nigerians stop deceiving urselves. |
Akpan107: Is well with my President and all his enemies would shamefaced in this New Year... AmenPlease tell him to hurry up and put us all to shame. We would so much enjoy eating our humble pie if there is 24hrs electricity, good road, improved health care services, improvement in our educational sector etc. I can't wait tell him to hurry up please! |
Truckpusher: YOU MUST NOT NECCESARILY PRAY FOR THEM BUT YOU CAN CRITICIZE CONSTRUCTIVELY AND NOT TO RANT LIKE A RABID DOG.I guess you are one of them that fervently pray for them and don't insult them after all...yeah right, liking others to a Rabid dog. Though I wouldn't chastise you for that cos its your right after all to express yourself but please practice what you preach you idiotic chalatan! Typical of an average Nigerian. Hypocritical to say the least. |
And why do you think we don't pray for them as much as we insult them or do you expect me to post my prayer here so you can know that I'm praying for them. You people need to get a life for once and stop all this rubbish. It's anyone's prerogative what they do to their leaders and who told you they do not abuse Obama in the US? What we need is for our slow poke and corrupt leaders to turn a new leaf in the new year and get on with the job of governance and drop all this distractive silliness of they are been insulted, so what? If a leader is performing he would careless what any idiot says about him I don't see any Obama voltron out there defending Obama in the US. You need to watch FOX news to know how much ridicule Obama is subjected to on a daily basis that's even on international tv in the US and no one is saying they should start praying for him. They can see what he is doing n he doesn't defend corruption like we know some do out here blatantly! Tell your Leaders to sit up and get to work and stop deceiving the people. If u can't stand the heat stay out of the kitchen. |
I don't think we should be bogged down with the technicality of how much power is/not been generated. It is unnecessary and just pure time wasting to cover up the government's ineptitude and incompetence to say the least. Just provide the fr*gging power and let us as customers hold up our own end of the contract by paying our bills. Simple as ABC. All these talks of rain, water level, gas,8 months, Megawatt etc is already stale and no more tenable. We are TIRED of excuses just give us light!!!! Its so hard to be a Nigerian man!!! and if eventually it works, I don't want to hear any government propagandist singing praises of any idiot as if they paid for it out their own salary. That is what governments do in other climes and no one roll out drums and invites stupid praises for it. JUST GIVE US LIGHT enough of excuses already!!! |
all4naija: So, your prof own is not?! slowpoke like you!Truth is the biggest enemy to an ordinary Nigerian. He's not my Prof. but I can tell you he has only stated the obvious. slowpoke? No need for name calling just be civil next time and make your point. |
How does this article relate to the Prof exactly? How does it invalidate the man's integrity and submission about Nigeria? All you GEJ proponent are just simply hilarious! This is a cheap attempt at blackmail and it oozes stupidity and lunacy in its entirety. |
This is why ACN is miles ahead of PDP. Leadership personified as shown by Tinubu here. Simple truth laced with foresight and objectivity. Even if you are threatening to burn down the country in protestation, with this kind of words you'll have a rethink and peacefully go back home. Nigeria is not a jungle, Mr. GEJ take a cue learn to do things right. |
rhymz: WOW!!! I have read more coherent stuff from a schizophrenic with Tourett's.Do you even know the meaning of the emboldened? Not in a million years. Its quite obvious you lifted it off google cause you forgot to edit the 's. You are even dafter than I earlier presumed. LMAO!!! Traits of a social media buffoon. Wasted my time on you. Yours is of hapless and hopeless proportion. . God save Nigeria. |
Kobojunkie: Yes, I did say facts. His comment contains quite a bit of them, and I challenge you to provide evidence to counter the claims he has produced.I am not just addressing you but also the issues, if only you can read and understand. I can see how malnourished your thinking faculty is? but I'll help nurture it a bit. Please lay the facts and evidence bare before me then I can start addressing them instead of ranting about hear-says and calling them facts. What part of my writing can't you comprehend. Why would I subject myself to countering what there is not and engage in futility. I don't bother myself with folklore and tales by beer parlours. Even if he had perpetrated all you have claimed its inconsequential(and aside the point) as we all voted for him and that is what matters. To you he might be a criminal but that's your opinion but not the opinions of multitude that voted him as their president and that much they can do as its their prerogative. I have never for once vouched here for Abiolas character but neither can you defame him by whatever inferior allusion you have as long as he has not been convicted by any competent court. You can only postulate and theorize like you lots are doing here and by any means I need not consume my time with inferior judgement of over excited drunks like yourself that get lost in defamation for the sake of been heard on social media. My argument from the get go is that MKO died in pursuit of justice either selfishly or generously (but they go hand in hand). You have to be selfish enough to be ambitious. Death in pursuit of Justice my friend is the ultimate. JUNE 12 is not just about Abiola, its about us all, its about our right. |

How is it ever gonna be possible that Neanderthals like you would capacitate objective analysis Tell me? See foolishness oozing from your medulla. So because those other institutions have been renamed it makes it right? And you are even ignorant of the fact that they were done by FIAT! Ok GEJ is now ruling a Junta? Yours is a case of bad education and lost identity, I've told you that already. Pity in my eyes for Nigeria if your likes abound in multitude without cognitive abilities. |
Kobojunkie: So your only counter to the facts he presented you is to insult him and try to claim no one is a saint? Really?? That is your counter to an argument offering you more detailed information on what happened, as against the vomit you have been spewing from thread to thread on a man you clearly had no real information on, except for what you probably got from reading gossip papers and sycophants-r-us news reports? Now can you see how your stupidity has been freely displayed? Did you say FACTS Detailed information Please just walk on by and don't make a fool of yourself. And don't insult my intelligence here. Facts and detailed information as researched and established by WHO If you are so caught up in your ignorance and hear-says, just poof without consequences!!! |
rhymz: Apparently you ve got brains the size of a peanut. You are dumber than I had thought. Obviously, you know nothing about the history of this country and I wont waste my time schooling a dingbat like you, you are better off in your ignorance. Now go to hell and fry, you intellectual midget of no substanceMr Jurassic Park, all your so called historic crap we've heard before but my friend history as written and consumed by idiotic and moronic bubble heads like you, which in its full glorification and purest form bothers along the lines of assumptions, hear says and lunacy makes no iota of meaning to me. Because such acclaimed street talks and beer parlour conversations don't and can't stand the test of time. They are always laced with all kinds of loose and wild imaginations of uncouth dimwits like yourself and in their best form borne out of hate for success and achievement of an individual. To be honest with you I am hardly surprised by your folly to believe such. I've asked you some pertinent questions which you have refused to answer and by way of that I can confidently presume you are a bigot of the highest proportion, as so far depicted in your write up. I won't tell you to go to hell neither fry cause by then I'll be condescending but rather tell you to please resume back to your hallowed Jurassic park with your wild and raging imagination. Beer Parlour Historian!!! |
Mr. Jurassic Park. People like you I believe live your life by stories authenticated by hear-says. Thou student of history I can see you are vastly well read in the studies of conspiracy and I won't even go into that with you. And please lay off assumptions and start being objective and not other wise, I see a lot of that in your write up. Really Rosa Park, Mandela, Martin Luther they were all saints rite? Then if they are not you are the most foolish Dinosaur in your Jurassic Park. Is it that you are too dumb and too consumed by your hate to think, so much that you can't comprehend simple logic. I am not telling you Abiola was a saint either but he died in the pursuit of Justice whether for himself or for us as a Nation. He gave the ultimate. He stood for something and died for it. I don't care what he has done before that. So far he has not been found guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction. As far as what Abiola did or did not do before 1993 is concerned I can't be bothered but I want you to proffer answers to the following: Did Nigerians vote en mass for Abiola to become their president? Was that mandate stolen from us? Did he die in the process of claiming the mandate given to him by Nigerians? Did Mandela fight for SA freedom? Was he imprisoned for 25 years? Did he die for it? So you tell me who gave the ultimate sacrifice? Then tell me what you would die for? |
emmasege: It's obvious u are one of those unreasonable folks that make them describe us rascals and whose sense of reasoning has been beclouded by ethnic bias. It's also apparent that u don't see beyond ur S/west horizon. For ur info, am born and bred in the Oyo empire, did my schooling in the best of Nigerian Universities and am widely traveled both within and without. i am not "omo eko", neither am i "omo at'oko wa bale je" like u.i however sense that u still have a few cells working in ur brain by thinking he should have been immortalized thru National stadium or eagle square. No Nigerian either dead or alive yet deserves this honour of re-naming UNILAG after him.I repeat once again you are a basterd(this error was intentional) child. Omo Ale to fi owo osi ju we ile baba ni e. Because you were born and breed in a Yoruba land does not qualify you to be one. So zip it! And so you may know, I am first a Yoruba before a Nigerian. An American would tell you he is either an Italian, Irish, Indian American etc. Because they understand the essence of origin and not to take it beyond that. Unlike you so called bigot do here in Nigeria. You all hide behind Nationalism to perpetrate your foolish and unreasonable acts. Heritage to me my friend is worth more than all new things the likes of GEJ can ever or would ever achieve in life. Past they say is the key to the future. And that is why we don't need him to destroy them all. Like they have done to UNILAG now. There is nothing wrong about identifying with your ethnic group it only become an issue when you lord it over others. What we don't want is hatred for another. Why are you people so screwed up in your thinking. Its very obvious you have a long way to go in life. So AWO too doesn't deserve it, ZIK too doesn't, our unknown soldiers too do not deserve it. I can see where the future of this country lies. Why am I even wasting my time on you. As far as MKO is concerned, history would have it that he did his best for Nigeria. I won't tell you what those are...I leave that for your education and if you like don't get educated. |
emmasege: It's so sad most Nigerians always allow sentiment to prevail over reasoning. am a yoruba man but have never believed that abiola would have made a good president. u need not a prophet to tell you that he died for himself and himself alone. i also think he under-estimated the kano boy in power at the time and expected the western power to come to his aid somehow. For crying out aloud, he can't even be compared with the likes of abraham adesanya, Gani Fawehinmi, Beko and Fela Kuti, not to even talk of Baba awo. Why was there no resistance to UNIFE being re-named OAU, despite the fact that it belongs to the same generation as UNILAG and ABU?. I think the answer is obvious. A great man deserves to be associated with great things. You are a bastard child. How are sure of that? Are you God? what happens to giving people benefit of doubt. Its his prerogative. Then OAU was renamed by a military man FIAT. If it was in a democratic setting protest would have also happen. And the fact that it was done then doesn't make it right. MKO would remain tall in the annals of history of this country as the only man that died in the process of fighting injustice done to him and to Nigerians as a whole whether by accident or by design. I bet that's a concept a nincompoop like you would never appreciate. A more befitting memorial for Abiola would have been EAGLE Square or National stadium not UNILAG an ICONIC brand of 50years of Educational heritage. Stop devaluing our heritage even though we know empty heads like you and slowpoke like GEJ are yet to master such concepts. IGNORAMUS!!! |
And is there anybody in the world that does not want to become President because of his own interest? Was Obama a saint before he became President? Is Jonathan a saint either? Oh I see he loved us so much that he has to sacrifice his own interest at the alter of selfless service to Nigerians. So much fresh air for all you fish and rat brained bigot on this Nairaland's idiosyncrasy. What is bad in been ambitious to attain personal goals in life? Is it a crime to want to become president. Why are we so obscenely ignorant in this country just because you want to pull someone down and colour him bad. Is anyone here a saint. Why do we hate success so much? You lots are too foolish beyond comprehension. He was a thief, he was corrupt blah blah blah and yet he was widely voted for by majority of this country. What's bad in fighting for what is truly yours? Even if it means dying in the process. At least he has died for a good course, Justice! and he'll forever be remembered for that. Hate or Love it. He was a Marty and didn't just die for his mandate he died also to safeguard our rights of freedom to choose, for our votes to mean something- COUNT!!! The very reason you are all still discussing him today. Even if some of you ruptured brain chicken are to scared to die for anything at all. Just coast on along in life. Living for nothing! COWARDS! MKO ABIOLA A TRUE NIGERIAN!!! |
When I read comments on here I realise how fast sinking this ship called Nigeria is heading. You lots are all sick and deluded and now its quite obvious NIGERIA truly has no future because the tie that binds us is definitely so fragile and delicate that its fast loosing its strength. You all talk as if great men of history were all saints and has no blemish. You all come here and cast aspersions on MKO. He was a business man turn politician. Is there anything bad about that? Can anyone tell me what Martin Luther King was before 'I had a dream' and his activism, who was Rosa Park before she sat on the bus, who was Mandela before his activism and prison sentence. Abiola can be what ever you want him to be before June 12 but I can tell you his election and eventual death symbolizes our collective freedom from military rule and its no mistake that his name is celebrated by some and keeps haunting others over 14years after. Some of you wish it could be wished away but my friend I tell you Abiola would forever remain a corner piece whenever the history of this country is been called upon or mentioned. A singular act turns a man to a hero not a million acts of wasteful life existence. They are made by that ICONIC singular act in their entire existence before their death. And Abiola died for our right as Nigerians to choose who to rule us, not just for his right to be the President, one cannot be divorce from the other. Lets learn to fight for our right at least by then we can say we have made a stand for our unborn generation. We can not afford to allow them to be enslaved by these greedy and selfish politician. |
Some people just don't get it! Why do we always see things from a myopic and simplistic point of view in this country? Why say "its just a name"? He is the GCON so he can do what ever he likes? Well I tell you it is not just a darn name! It is a 50year old colossal brand that symbolizes the existence and developmental heritage of the most vibrant and populous black race civilization (LAGOS) and you don't just change the name just like that because you have an inkling over night. You don't just wish it away. Why kill an Icon for another? why not let the two stand alone? why not name something else of more National and symbolic conciousness in Abuja after MKO Abiola(He deserves that much). If you eventually want to be headstrong about it and insist on the name change so much that you think institutional identities is of no significant to you(of course you are a small minded government and history and structure means nothing to you) at least call for consultation with the university's council and see if they would agree on the name change then you would have done the civil thing by them instead of you going on announcing it publicly like a 7year old that have just won a prize in school and can't wait to show it to his parent at home hoping to be applauded and patted on the back. You are setting a precedent here Mr. President and please let it be the right one. You are not some grand ruler of Zamunda. Learn to do things right and stop saying you are not a Lion, David, or a General why your actions suggest otherwise like this one now that is more of a decree by a dictator rather than an act ascended to by a President. |
Donmeca: If this insults ur collective intelligence, then u guys are not really as intelligent as u are deceived to believe. Did u say he shuddering erect a status ifo Abiola's memorial? That wud b a waste of money and u know it. U will even b d first to come here and shout that we have no light, no water, poor roads and GEJ is wasting money to remember Abiola.I can see google has finally come to your aide. You are not quite of age for a conversatory audience with me. Thank you anyway. |
Donmeca: fool! I give u 2 minutes to research and tell me if Harvard was not a man's name and if Harvard University wasn't named in honour of John Harvard. Now run and check up b4 killing ur virtual image cos it can haunt u in real lifeHarvard was an original name. It has always been called Harvard IDIOTIC CRETIN you are! |
I won't condescending into abusing you but rather educate you. Naming Universty of Lagos after MKO to me belittles the status of the man Abiola. Immortalising Abiola to me is long overdue but not in this way and manner. UNILAG is an icon on its own why give us another icon and then take the already established one. NO! This his action I see as a political gift to appease the SW and an insult to our collective intelligence as Yorubas. Why name a University in the SW after Abiola why not something more of national awareness in Abuja or somewhere else in other parts of the country. Why not a monumental statue like Lincoln memorial in DC erected in Abuja. Having him on our currency like you said. Come on this man is only trying to score a cheap point in the SW with us and we are no fools! |
Deep Sight: The President is the VISITOR of the University of Lagos. From the way you write though, I doubt you will understand what that role infers. He is the president of Nigeria and not the visitor of the university of Lagos, get your facts straight even a visitor still needs to consult the governing council to take such an action. In this case I doubt our slowpoke has considered that even before going forward with this uncouth action. |
This only goes to show how unintelligent the likes of Rueben Abati, Pius and co. really are. These are supposedly his advicers. It's a shame this nation has finally gone to the dogs. How unearth would they have allowed him to make this blunder. Institutions of higher learning are not political toys that you switch their names as you so desire. They are status of heritage and they are historically positioned to tell us how far we have come development wise. No idiot there toys around with Oxford, Cambridge, Havard, etc. More so GEJ you are not a military president that you can unilaterally make such decision. You require nation wide consultation for such move. I therefore call on the National assembly to reverse this silly mistake. Can someone tell Jonathan Goodluck that University of Lagos was established by an act of Parliament in 1962 and the name can only be change through an amendment to that act. I think this president is being chased by the shadow of military mentality. Let us challenge this act of illegality in the court of law. |

rhymz: Yes of course, MKO Abiola does not deserve any recognition, the man got what he deserved. He was no different from the rogues that run the government then and even now. He was a victim of his own high-handed politics with the khaki boys. Need I remind you of his numerous money making schemes and corrupt enrichment? What exactly did he do to deserve the kind of accolades being showered on him? Even Bill gates is yet to get the kind of National recognition that Abiola has gotten so far. I mean, Gates' philantropy is incomparable, the man's giving is not even inspired by any politics unlike Abiola who started philantropy because he was nursing the ambition of becoming a president. How much of philantropy did he do outside of the southwest? At least I Know Rochas has many school foundations outside of the SE, point to one Abiola did outside of his comfort zone? Are you telling me that if Abiola was not your tribesman giving his character you would have accepted whole heartedly that UNILAG be turned to Abiol bla bla to imortalize him. He and his wife have already been immortalized so why change every goddam parastatal to Abiola's name. The man is not even that learned. As much as I love Ojukwu, I will be mad if Jonathan in his bid to play his stooopid politics of appeasement changes UNN to OJUKWU University. That is gross and wrinks of mediocre politics, there are are way better people with sterling achievements than Abiola whose names still would have caused a stir let alone a corrupt money bag like Abiola that was busy enriching himself and got his finger burnt in the process. Abeg call a spade a spade, Abiola was not all that he is repped up to be by the south western news media propaganda, a lot of us still have very xlear memory of what he realy did to the Nigerian polity, he is not any different.. And can you please come forward with those xlear facts of what he did to the Nigerian polity? Please I need facts, hard facts not hear say please? |
All you guys that think you are intelligent here don't get it. UNILAG is already a brand why destroy that brand name for something else. It takes years to build reputation you know. Do you think Obama dare changes Havard Uni to Abraham Lincoln Uni? It's impossible! Why not erect a befitting memorial statue in Abuja like Lincoln Memorial statue in DC and name it after him? I appreciate the gesture Mr. president but this leaves a bad taste in the mouth and it's more like a gift to the yorubas, why not something more grand and of gigantic proportion Abiola affected our psychic all as a nation and that prompted all to vote for him in the first instance. After all said and done I have to give it to GEJ for taking the initiative to appreciate MKO's sacrifice. |
Like I've always known Nigerians to be...they would never disappoint. HYPOCRITES!!! I bet many of you weren't that cautious of hearing D'banj's side of the story before you all ran to the street casting aspersion, abuses and all sort of negative judgement on him. When your homeboy Don Jazzy was spewing all around like an abusive wife, you never dimmed it fit to give D'banj a chance to hear his own side of the story. Did you? But now that he's finally said something, all of a sudden you guys think he's out to colour someone bad after so much restrain. I thought you all said he'll suffer and he's finished, he's biting the hand that fed him blah blah blah ....laughable to say the least. Hate is the only thing I smell all along! Don Jazzy has shown how immature he is all along...ranting out in the public on your friend saying D'banj can't sing, can't rap...that to me was a cheap blow below the belt coming from an old friend and associate. Truth they say would catch up with all lies regardless of time. Now from this release its quite obvious who has been calling the shots at MO'HIT! People hate what they can't conquer...so D'banj just do your thing and let haters run their mouth. |
I am not one for argument but on this I'll disagree with you. You see someone as arrogant because of your own inferiority complex or insecurity, So don't tell me someone sees me as been arrogant therefore I'm arrogant that is very subjective in the full sense of the word. Tell me why a South African would feel a Nigerian is arrogant? On what premise? But one thing I know for sure is that we never really appreciate how intelligent and blessed we are as a Nation until we go out there, in spite of all our shortcomings and misgivings we are still a force to reckon with both individually and as a Nation. As far as development is concerned no doubt Nigeria is way behind most of these African countries in the southern hemisphere but that's where it stops, the major contributing factor to that is the presence of the white folks. Africans know we are smart and intelligent people, what we use that for is diverse and that's another story entirely for another day. And you can't rule out the fact that our population is a major influence to that. The fight for limited and scarce resources amongst millions can only make you think faster, smarter and intelligently than the normal, our situation is that of the survival of the fittest which prepare us for worst of situations. So when we get out there into other people's country we become even more advance than them in our thinking and way of life then they see us as been arrogant. America does not have the best living condition in the world and neither is it the best place to live on earth but my friend Americans are the proudest people on earth, you can say the same for us Nigerians. Someone like you would see that as arrogance but amigo I call that been proud of who you are. I'm a Nigerian and I'm forever proud to be one. I wouldn't have had it otherwise. |
Guess mine is equally easy to decipher! Love more 8 less...spread the gospel!!! ![]() |
Its quite pathetic how you lots jump on any story and believe it hook, line and sinker. Is it that hard to decipher truth from lies nowadays in this country? Truly level of IQ in this country has hit an all time low. Quite surprising this hell of a story would even generate any interest let alone comments from a serious minded individual. I never knew efforts are all in top gear to discredit Tinubu at will without any substance. If you believe this story, easy to tell you never neared the fence of a nursery let alone primary school. |
. God save Nigeria.
Tell me? See foolishness oozing from your medulla. So because those other institutions have been renamed it makes it right? And you are even ignorant of the fact that they were done by FIAT! Ok GEJ is now ruling a Junta? Yours is a case of bad education and lost identity, I've told you that already.
