uduokirika1: It is no longer news that the Nigerian Premier Football League under the management of the LMC is currently the fastest growing league in the world! What is news however, is simply the return of Night matches in our stadia.
The Nest of Champions was used to kick start this awesome experience last season when Akwa Unitd hosted the Solid Minners(Nasarawa utd) on Friday nite 15th of Septmber. 2015 The hostilities were captured on the thread below.
https://www.nairaland.com/2619795/nest-champion-host-first-npfl
Come this season, newly promoted Mountain of Fire Ministry Fc of Lagos relunched this project as they hosted Kano pillars and Wikki Tourist in a week 10 and 12 fixtures respectively at the Agege stadium!
This weekend NAS-Enugu (Rangers Fc VS Nasarawa Utd) and Nest of Champs Uyo (Akwa Utd VS Enyimba Int'l) successfully hosted Nite matches
From the impressive turn out for these matches I belive Nite matches have come to stay in our League!

How market na? After 3 years where is ur Opon Imo? What impact has it effected on the performance. Of students in. The State of. Osun? agbameta: 1. Opon is preloaded with 17 subjects offered by students in the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination, WASSCE. The subjects have been designed in forms of lesson notes, textbooks, mostly provided by Publishers and Master Teachers Inputs. A content verifier has also verified lesson notes on each subject (Masters Teachers Works).
2. Seven extra-curricular subjects such as Sexuality Education, Civic Education, Yoruba History, Ifa Traditional Religion, Computer Education and Entrepreneurship Education, and Twelve Thousand Yoruba Proverbs are also preloaded.
3. Ten years’ past questions and answers provided by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, and the West African Examinations Council, WAEC. Consequently, questions and answers in 17 Ordinary Level subjects have been provided. They are English Language, Mathematics, Agricultural Science, Economics, Principles of Accounts, Literature in English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Yoruba, Commerce, Further Mathematics, History, Geography, Government, IRK and CRK.
It's not about quantity, it's about what's inside both products and also what they can do?

bloggernaija: Opon IMO had a strategy behind it. It was done to eliminate the use of costly textbook as well as ensure that the poorest of the poor have access to the same educational resources(book and tutorial ) as every other kid . It is only one aspect of the grand restructuring of the educational sector.from building classrooms and school to wholesale mergers .From offering incentives to teacher who choose to teach in rural area to training manpower for opportunities already available in the state.
In short,it has a comprehensive plan behind it.
I am scratching my head like I did in the case of ekiti to see what the plan behind this sudden benevolence of obi is all about . What has he been doing in the last 8 yrs? Would it not have been better to defer future policies to the incoming administration ?
MY TAKE. HE has already conceded the election to PDP rigging machine. He is using the last remaining days to pay off cronies and acolytes . Also ,he is emptying the treasury.

The truth is that Nigeria as it is today was not defined by Nigerians until we do so we will continue to retain the status quo where sentimental mediocrity is more important to ojective meritocracy!! I luv Nigeria but hate her when ethno-religous indices are used to judge whatever objective contributions I make for her growth! We need ourselves more and matured enlightenment such as this will go a long way in restoring already distorted history to bring about the best from todays active generation to redefine our country! Rotimi47: Let me say that this is a great write up and you have earned my respect.
I must say that beautiful writeup like yours is hard to come by as you hit the nail on the head with great accuracy and your post really show that you're a very mature person who knows what he is talking about.
Let me add a little to our discussion; The United states is where it is today because people of different races decided to stick together as one and that's why America is the most powerful country in the world and China which happen to be the 2nd largest economy happen to be a country that make sure it tribes/communities stay together as one.
Isreal also come to mind; isreal have survived everything thrown at it due to all Jews sticking together irrespective of skin colour and country of origin, Nigeria should not be an exception.
Bro, If we can all set aside ethnic sentiments and address issues the right way, Nigeria would have moved forward more that where the country is today and the citizens would have been better for it.
Conclusion, Let me say that several politicians have played with our minds and they are still using us against each other so as to achieve their selfish aims but I believe people are getting wiser than they think and one day true change will take place in this country.
Do stay blessed and get locked into God's plan for your life. Cheers big time. |

It was a Police Special branch report following their investigation into the planning of the coup. Nzeogwu it was who recruited Ademoyega around November but Nzeogwu himself was recruited by ANuforo, so how then can Ademoyega be a ringleader in a coup that was already ongoing long before his involvement?
|
Politics › Re: Why I Fought On The Side Of Ojukwu, Biafra – Lt Fola Oyewole by yellowsun: 9:09pm On Jan 10, 2016 |
T8ksy: Nzeogwu and ADemoyega were the last two to be recruited in to the coup around November 1965 so how then could they have been the leaders of the coup? The fact of the matter was that the main ringleaders of the coup were ibos who then went on to murder all non-ibo politicians and military personnels from other regions bar one Lt. Col Unegbe. All the other ibo politicians and military guys were coincidentally not killed including Ironsi the topmost military guy who could scuppered the coup and in actual fact did foiled the coup.
Nice try, guys. From your source it is obvious you are quoting some of the. Ochestrated publications of our conspiracy theorist! I repeat Maj. Ademoyega wrote a book himself and said he led the 1966 coup alongside Nzeogwu but you want me to believe an account written by a third party! LMWKMD Majors Ademoyega and Onwuatuegwu survived the war but the federal troops quickly eliminated the latter at Orlu and Ademoyega incacirated in far away Maiduguri prison until 1986 simply to ensure that no index participant of the 1966 coup countered whatever lie the Millitary ochestrated writers will write about the coup! Thank God Ademoyega wrote his book "why we struck" to debunk the lies though it was already late 'cos the lies such as the one you posted had already saturated the info-space of the country! Read widely. Who should I believe his write up an Ademoyega's. Personal. Account or third party account? It is on record that Ademoyega remains the only surving Major of the 5dat led d coup after the war! And his account therefore should serve as a case of an index personality of the 1966 coup! So someone that led the coup said he did so himself in his book, but you want me to believe otherwise because some conspiracy theorists have distorted facts to suit there lies and feed some gullibles! Also note that Major Onwuatuegwu also survived the war but he was quietly eliminated by the Federal troops to prevent him from providing a personal account of the coup! Ademoyega remained in prison until 1986 before he was released by then the lies of the Igbo ochestrated coup had saturated the nigerian info-space! Thank God today the lies are been bursted day after day! |

Majors Ademoyega and Nzeogwu were the Leaders of the coup! Go and read Ademoyega'ss book"Why We struck" and stop exposing ur ignorance on social media Rotimi47: This interview brought light to several things;
1. Yorubas' fought on igbo side during the civil war and as such contributed to their successful exploit.
2. zik and other igbo leaders were tiped off of the coup.( why is it that no single igbo leader was killed during the coup while other tribes leaders were killed? )
3. Awolowo was not guilty of stopping food delivery to Biafra because the food meant for the civilians keep ending up in the hands of the biafran soldiers. ( Have you ever seen or heard that the United states feed its enemies when they are at war with them?)
4. Aburi addressed what the biafrans wanted but both parties still preferred war( maybe Gowon got schooled on the agreement he signed when he got back to Nigeria and he saw that he had given out too much to Biafra. )
5. The coup was the brain child of the igbos and they only invited other soldiers from other tribes who they think can help them succeed in their plan.
Questions that need answers.
1. Why attack Yoruba land called Ore in Ondo state?
2. Why was banjo the Yoruba soldier that lead the biafrans military to several victories really killed?
3. Why did the biafran military accept all the food that the civilians were handing over to them when can see that the civilians are dying of starvation?
4. Why is it that other soldiers from tribes were not involved in the main plan of the coup but the igbo coup plotters only involved some of them because they lack logistics , communication facilities & other things; they only briefed them on what they want them to know & the task they want them to perform?.
Conclusion.
Both parties are to blame for the war as they missed it one way or the other. |

StOla: You asked much more. You also made allusions to the position of Osun schools as opposed to Anambra schools. You went ahead to provide a link to buttress what you believe was a superior academic facility by the Anambra state government.
Now see link below and feed your eyes to what Aregbesola is also doing in Osun state
www.nairaland.com/2749096/aregbesola-set-commission-ejigbo-high
It is easy for anyone to think his own farm is the biggest, when you haven't any idea what else exist in the wild.
As for Opon Imo, I don't get your argument. Are you saying that an initiative that saved N8.6B relative to the alternative, is not sustainable? Are you implying that the project was a waste while adjudged to have saved N8.6B?
Why should a cheaper initiative not be sustainable? That question should not even come up at all.
As long as Osun state wants to continue saving money, that cheaper alternative will forever be sustainable.
Except of course, the contractor lobby to supply books and other analogue teaching paraphernalia is greater than the common sense to provide a cheaper and advanced alternative. The link I showed you was not facility comparison but to butress the fact that 3years later Peter Obi's policy is yielding fruits 'cos schools from the state are winning awards in ICT related competitions. While I continue to ask you how has Opon Imo improved the academic chances of the Osun students 3years later! Are they still making use of the Opon Imo today? If yes I need a link to that effect and not a newly constructed educational edifice! |

StOla: I am not a media representative for either state's government.
I believe useful information should be found on the state's website and from people who are resident in either state.
I have not heard that Osun state schools are suffering unchecked dilapidation. Instead, the news coming from Osun has been about the government commissioning great structures and promising to do more. I believe the bulk of the positive news that has emanated from Osun state since Aregbesola's tenure has been about the investments made in education. For this singular reason, I expect Osun to compete favourably with any other state in Nigeria.
While the pictures in the link you have posted look good, you sure haven't seen the pictures of the schools Aregbesola commissioned.
The bone of contention here is about the OP falsely propagating information about the cost of the Opon Imo project and comparing this false cost to the cost of laptops bought by Anambra state.
A storm in a tea cup. My simple question is how far has the Opon imo fared 3years after implementation? from my picture you can see the internet facility that accompanied Peter obi's computer still in active service. I am more interested in sustainable policies! Is Opon Imo still sustainable in osun today or not? |

PDPmamapiss: yes, is very expensive. That is why i said it is not a regular govt. school................ Is even more expensive than some private schools.
In Delta State, they stop enrolling students that took normal pri. 6 common entrance and force those that can't pay school fees or live in the hostel to leave. In Delta may be govt handsoff totally after handover thereby necessitating higher cost due to staff salaries. In Anambra they are still financed by government only the management was handed back to original owners! So scholl fees are still moderately ok just like any other govt secondary sch in Anambra, but because of its specialty as a "Special science school" entrance exam into the school is highly competitive! |

I raised the issue of credible news source. With all the sources provided to shame the OP in the series of posts that ended the 1st page, you still ask me for a credible source? Are you mentally handicapped or what?
You asked for the cost?
http://pmnewsnigeria.com/2013/06/19/opon-imo-inspirational-message-from-state-of-osun/
You need proof that it saved N8.6B by eliminating the alternative?
http://www.channelstv.com/home/2013/06/03/opon-imo-will-save-osun-n8-4-billion-of-textbook-procurement-costs/
That you do not know the economic concept of opportunity cost, easily explains why you need to go back to secondary school, so you can be gifted with the Opon Imo to read it up cheaper than a teacher and text book would have afforded. This singular action of yours would have saved you some funds, but I ask, where is your budget for the alternative forgone?
