fuke:

You are half correct.
The Tinubus, the then very young Fayemi and others were the foot soldiers of the Adesanyas.

They were the guerrillas on the field.

Tinubu did not become Lagos state Governor for nothing.

So also , others had to step down for Fayemi for the same reason.

Fayemi was the guy pushing Radio Kudirat about.

A lot of things happened not known to many of you people.

Tinubu has earned his respect. The NADECO people know.

I think I gave him as much credit as he deserves in saying being a NADECO member once conferred Patriot status on members. You can say he's earned his respect but I think he's overexploited the respect he earned as a NADECO member especially when his contributions are juxtaposed with those of other more recognized members who have kind of taken a back seat in national and political affairs. My opinion and I stand corrected.

Choi, How the mighty have fallen! You know what they say; What goes around, comes around, Who wants a Boko-Sympathizer in their wedding anyway?
Buhari's now a baggage few people want to carry even in the North (except you're as desperate as the ACN). I guess it was expedient to play a fast one on the General, imagine how awkward it would've been with Buhari, Iweala and Dangote sitting on a table with two thinking of building and the other thinking of bombing - Tufiakwa!

Politics / Buhari Tricked, Misses Atiku's Sons Wedding by yelsew80: 8:04am On Jun 10, 2013

Officials of the Bauchi State government ‘tricked’ Gen. Muhammadu Buhari into missing the wedding ceremony of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s son, Mohammed and the daughter of former Bauchi State governor Ahmed Mu’azu, Badariyya, on Saturday, Daily Trust learnt yesterday. Buhari was not seen at the height of the event which brought together dignitaries such as former head of state Abdulsalami Abubakar, Bauchi State governor Malam Isa Yuguda, PDP national chairman Bamanga Tukur, business mogul Aliko Dangote, Speaker Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and Minister of Finance Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. Chairman of the Congress for Progressive Change in Bauchi State, Alhaji Aliyu Saidu and another source close to Buhari told our reporters yesterday that Buhari had arrived at the Bauchi airport on board a chartered flight at about 10:20 am on Saturday for the wedding which was slated for 11.00am. The former head of state was, however, misled by protocol officers sent by the Bauchi State government to receive, the duo claimed. “He was accosted by protocol officers from the Bauchi Government House and informed that the event had been shifted to 12noon and that he should proceed to the presidential lodge to wait until the rescheduled time,” the source close to the CPC leader said. But Buhari who had intended to proceed to the palace of the Emir of Bauchi where the exchange of marital vows would be conducted, turned down the offer and chose instead to go to the house of a friend. The officers who led him to Abubakar’s house were said to have called Buhari’s entourage at about 11: 15am and asked that the former head of state should come down as the event was about to take place. Daily Trust learnt that Buhari arrived with his entourage at the Emir’s palace only to be greeted with few dignitaries left behind –the wedding had been conducted. He then proceeded to the airport and returned to Kaduna. Giving his account, the CPC state chairman said: “a day to the wedding we received a phone call from General Buhari that he will visit Bauchi because he was invited to the wedding at the Emir’s Palace in Bauchi. “General Buhari said he wanted a low profile visit since it was private. He arrived Bauchi airport in a chartered flight from Kaduna at about 10:15am and we received him together with government protocol officials. “But the government officials that received him told him that the wedding was shifted to 12:00 o’clock from 11 o’clock, so he proceeded to the house of his friend. We also phoned several government officials to confirm and they said that it was rescheduled for 12:00 o’clock. “While we waited, we did not suspect any foul play. Then about quarter after eleven a top government official asked us to come to the emirs palace, that the wedding was about to take place. So we arrived at the emirs palace around 12 noon and by then all important guests had departed. “We don’t know who was responsible for this false information, but we believe it was a political ploy to stop Buhari from attending the wedding.” Alhaji Aliyu said on arrival at the emir’s palace a mammoth crowd cheered the CPC leader who met with the emir and left.

NADECO huh? How time flies, I remember those days when being a NADECO member commanded the status of a selfless Patriot. Who'd forget the heroics of the likes of Abraham Adesanya who stayed back in the country to take on the oppressors man to man, Alfred Rewane the brave Itsekiri millionaire who lost his life battling the despot, Alex Ibru who took hot bullets for his nation and many more distinguished and Brave Patriots. You can contrast that with the now seeming greatest beneficiary of that struggle esp with the likes of Adesanya, Funsho Williams and now Dosunmu all dead - a certain Bola Ahmed Tinubu who was among the first to piantin out of the country when the heat was turned on to become an "exiled activist" - very brave esp when you consider how he now loves this country!
RIP to the departed.

Politics / Re: GEJ Is Destroying His Enemies, Plain And Simple (sanusi, NGF, APC, Amaechi, Etc) by yelsew80: 1:45am On Jun 09, 2013
Ikengawo: keep deceiving yourself, this has been the most efficient and result producing government in nigerias history. We can only pray for better but we would be fools to pretend it's the worst. You can't name one area where there's incompetence or failure unless you think people like Sanusi, and Okonjo who are really leading government policy don't know their respective subjects

Agriculture, booming
Airports, remodeled, modernized, booming
Security, boko haram is silenced, army modernized, police improved and reformed
Transportation, roads are being reworked, rail is back after decades, canals are being dug, dredging is being done, governors are waking up
Education, Almajiri promise being met (more can be done here)
Foreign policy, excellent leadership in Libya (first citizens in the world evacuated were Nigerians), Cote D'Ivoire, and Mali. Put South Africa in their place, Nigeria is now Africa's #1 investment destination, African nations have rallied to give Nigeria the UN seat.
Power, grid doubled
Industry, Major investors flooding in, Nigerian industrialists like Dangote and Adenuga making Forbes list, power infrastructure boom helping
Finance, SWF is huge, rated as one of the best financial regimes in the world, not only africa.

you name it it's improving. You can say that 4000 as power generation is pathetic and it is, but in his tenure it's 4000, and after 50 years of existence all the combine presidents could only bring it to 2000.
GEJ is not incompetent. We can have a better president, but he'll never arise from the mentality of calling GEJ incompetent and discrediting everything he does because Nigerians aren't going to buy the ACN Buhari ATTACK EVERYTHING THE PRES DOES strategy

the real opposition is the one that will say, "We are seeing improvement, but this is who I can bring more improvement" or "This is how I can improve the aspects GEJ hasn't" not "GEJ is INCOMPETENT" "GEJ is Boko Haram" "GEJ caused Boko Haram" "Only ACN is 'working'" "PDP is the only source of misrule in Nigeria"

the electorate has seen beyond the loudness of the opposition and if the opposition can't be more sober minded, they're finished.

Absolutely brilliant. However, if you really think GEJ has got anything to do with Sanusi's trouble, you're dead wrong. If he had issues with the Presidency he'd be in greater trouble than a discussion about his libido, if GEJ had issues with him, he'd be searching for his Prick! This saga doesn't dent Sanusi's image in any way IMO.

AjanleKoko:

Intelligence is not very relevant in the corporate world. What's relevant is wits and cunning, to a large extent, if you want to get ahead.

I don't know about cutting-edge research institutions, which obviously should require very brilliant people, but regular everyday jobs do not require an Einstein. For unattractive people, the best option for them would be to go for specialist roles. As in doctor, engineer, scientist, teacher, etc.

If you're good-looking, a sharp dresser, an extrovert, and well-spoken, the possibility is strong that you would be perceived as a natural leader, and liked by most. Management included. If you top that by being slightly above average with your work competence, the sky is your limit grin

I guess that corroborates the Male - side of the research to a large extent but the interesting part is that of Females where the opposite seems to hold true, the prettier you are it is assumed the less likely you are to get employed thru an interview with female panelists and this is being put down to "female insecurity"! How much of a role does something as ridiculous as 'Jealousy' play in an interview?

A little value is about to be added to tertiary education in the country. Very very thoughtful and most laudable feat, the only challenge I foresee is the human factor. Will our Profs put their feet down or look the other way during critical times? Only time will tell.
Politics / African First As Nigerian Universities Deploy Top Plagiarism Detection Software by yelsew80: 10:21pm On Mar 22, 2013
Nigeria has become the first African country to tackle plagiarism nationwide with the internationally accepted top plagiarism detection software, Turnitin. The West African country’s 123 universities have completed the agreement to unite in the fight against plagiarism. The negotiation for the nationwide deployment of the software began in February between the management of Turnitin and Nigerian Committee of Vice Chancellors of Nigerian Universities (CVC), on the nationwide rollout of the technology. Mike Fabarode, secretary general of CVC, told Daily Trust the vice chancellors decided to deploy the technology to tackle the plagiarism menace which he said had become a major problem and requires swift steps in order to stop it from spreading further. He said Nigerian universities, according to the terms of the agreement will pay NGN480 million (US$3 million) for the first three years. He added the staff of various Nigerian universities are undergoing training on the use of the software which he said will become fully operational from May 2013. According to him, the step was necessitated by the need to preserve the integrity of Nigeria’s education which stands the risk of being destroyed by consistent plagiarism. In a statement signed by Turnitin’s international vice president, Will Murray, he said Nigeria has become the latest country to join the growing list of countries such as UK, Pakistan, Turkey and several others that are using the software on a national basis. Murray said: "This move highlights the determination of Nigerian higher education institutions to address the issue of plagiarism and promote academic integrity and authenticity as well as enhance their reputations on an international level. "We're delighted to be assisting the CVC in establishing a national model for academic integrity in Nigeria and onsite training has already begun."

Firstly, this is Wesley80 and the Spambot has held me all day, I wld please love to be unshackled as I didnt do anything wrong.

Secondly, I tried logging in with my 'emergency ID' Wesley08 which was created for purposes as this and I saw a message that read:

Banned by OAM4J in Politics for Trolling. Ban expires on 7:28am On Feb 07, 2106

Not sure if that was meant to be funny but I'd love to have my emergency ID unbanned as well. This I request for respectfully. Thanks in advance.

^Sharrap there, I know you have no honour so objectivity is far beyond you. I attacked your person and so you abuse my parents and thats cool? You crossed a line in directing coarse abuse at my parents and OMAJE had NO RIGHT WHATSOEVER to let you off the hook without an apology or as little as a trace of remorse, the rules are clear on that and thats exactly the point I tried to make in switching my name with his.
I didnt direct any abuse at him or his parents, I only put him in my place to see how it felt, the words were entirely yours and I and OMAJE only swapped places, I challenge him or anyone to unhide those posts and if they in anyway show me as the aggressor, I'll apologise unreservedly. As for taking my complaints to the Supermods, you mind dropping a number I can reach them on? Surely, they are barred from viewing this thread arent they?
Whatever ban you've gotten from Seun, u deserve, I do not troll nor command the disgust you do so stop comparing myself with you Ol' sissyman.
