The meeting of stakeholders held in the Eti-Osa/Lekki-Epe Expressway of Lagos State revealed that the Lekki Concession Company Limited (LCC), will on Thursday, February 1st
2018, effect the increase in toll tariffs at the Admiralty Circle Toll Plaza and the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge Toll Plaza. Motorists plying the Expressway and the Link Bridge will begin new toll fares come February.

The reason behind this increase is not farfetched as confirmed in a statement, that the current economic and business realities in cost of operations and maintenance of the company’s loan obligations precipitated the sudden increase.

Mr. Mohammed Hassan, the Managing Director of the LCC, pointed out that the new hike in toll fares came as a result of feedbacks gotten from stakeholders in Eti-Osa Local Government area and its environs, coupled with consultation made from the general area in December 2017.

According to Mr. Mohammed who said; “the toll tariffs had last been reviewed in December 2011. Since the commencement of tolling, the tariffs had remained the same despite the continuous increase in the cost of operations to ensure that the toll plazas and the road infrastructure are well maintained. The toll review has also become necessary to enable the company meet its loan obligations to its local and foreign lenders, considering the fact that foreign exchange rates have continued to increase astronomically in the last couple of years. LCC cannot continue to operate or provide the services required from us if we do not review the toll tariffs”. A 52- year-old woman has been reportedly murdered on Monday January 15, by her own son over a missing memory card, in the Western Region of Ghana.

An Adom News Reporter, Kofi Asante Enim, gathered that the 17-year-old boy, Emmanuel Gyan, had earlier accused his mother of keeping his memory card but told him she had no knowledge of where he kept it.

The boy then got angry and attacked his mother, Faustina Agyeiwaa, with a pestle as he kept hitting her on the head several times. Not satisfied with all that, Emmanuel removed firewood from a nearby fire, burned the mother with it until she succumbed to the injuries and died on the spot.

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested an acclaimed Islamic cleric, Abdulfatai Kayode, with suspected human parts on Okedumola Street, Alakuko area of the state.

Female private parts, a kidney, intestines, a heart, lap, among other human parts, were allegedly found in his apartment.

Kayode was apprehended on Tuesday when the state Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, led operatives to the community.

The suspect said the parts were given to him by a herbalist identified simply as Sadiq for safekeeping.

He said, “Sadiq aka Ifa gave them to me. We intended to use them for money rituals for a client. A man brought the parts to Ifa too. I don’t know where the person lives. I have been an Alfa for 10 years, but I have never prepared any money ritual with human parts before. This is my first time.”

A 32-year-old has been arrested by the Lagos state police command for allegedly raping a 6-year-old girl identified as Ngozi.

The suspect, Francis Azukwo, who lives in Owoodu street, ikotun area of Lagos has been charged before Ogba Magistrate Court.

The victim's mother narrated to the police that the incident happened while she was away to give birth to a child. She said she left Ngozi with her 16-year-old cousin. On getting back, she noticed her daughter didn't appear so good, she examined her and finds out she's got bruises in her private. Upon inquiry, the victim narrated to her mother how she got defiled. She case was immediately reported to the police while the Ngozi underwent series of medical treatment at the Mirabel Centre, Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, where it was confirmed that the victims hymen had been broken as a result of penetration.

The police was alerted after it was discovered that Francis allegedly penetrated the little girl with his male organ. The victim’s mother was in the hospital giving birth to a baby when the incident happened. While she was in the hospital, Ngozi was left in the care of her 16-year-old cousin as he father had traveled for work. When the mother of the victim came back, she noticed her daughter’s strange movement, carried out an examination on her daughter’s private part and discovered some bruises. Upon inquiry, Ngozi told her mother that it was Uncle Francis that defiled her. The matter was reported to the police and a test was run on the victim at the Mirabel Centre, Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, where it was confrimed that the victims hymen had been broken as a result of penetration.

Francis has been charged by Ogba Magistrate court on two counts of defilement and indecent assault.

The charge sheet read, “That you, Francis Azukwo, sometime in the month of September 2017, at Ikotun, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did unlawfully and indecently assault one Ngozi (not real name), thereby committing an offence. That you, Francis Azukwo, on the same date, time and place, in the aforesaid magisterial district, did defile one Ngozi, thereby committing an offence.”

The mystery behind the reign of terror of killer cult group known as badoo in Ikorodu area of Lagos, is gradually unfolding following the recent arrest of five suspected key members of the sect.

The group started its operations late 2016 with pockets of killings in different communities within Ikorodu. By 2017, its name, badoo was not only established but the gruesome murder of defenseless and helpless residents also established the killing as ritual purpose related. .

Its members killed at will, without consideration to the age or sex of victims. In one of the instances, a grandmother with her two grandchildren were murdered in cold blood in their sleep. The entire members of several families were also wiped out by these evasive killers.

The sanctity of worship centres like the church were disregarded as members of the blood thirsty group killed some victims right inside the centres. One baffling aspect of its operation was that none of its victims nor members of the neigbourhood where they invade was usually awake during the operation.

Residents only woke up to discover the lifeless bodies of victims in their rooms with their head smashed. At a point, residents concluded badoo members were invincible beings.

But with the latest arrest of Igwe Chibuzor (20), Obamoyegun Omotayo (45), Samuel Ameze (38), his wife Gift, and Adebayo Fatai (34), it has been established that members the group are human beings after all. The arrest however, revealed the use of diabolical means in the group’s operation.

What Gave The Gang Away

From the confessional statements of the arrested suspects, it was revealed that badoo members operated only at midnight while every one would have retired to bed. Also, during operation, they would spray a powdery substance within the targeted building. The powdery substance which was given to them by their herbalist was expected to put victims to deep sleep.

The powdery substance was also sprayed close to buildings around the targeted building to avoid any intrusion during operation.

Thereafter, they would smash their victim’s head with a grinding stone, and dab their white handkerchiefs in victim’s blood before leaving the scene. But Vanguard gathered that the only antidote to this charm is when a victim wakes up at the time members storm the apartment, or sets his or her eyes on members.

On December 30, 2017, the trio of Omotayo, Chibuzor and Ameze stormed a building at Alajo close , Abule Osoru in Ibeshe community in Ikorodu to carry out their usual operation. They had succeeded in smashing the head of the breadwinner, Shakiru Yekini (38) with their arsenal- the grinding stone.

Unfortunately for them, his wife who had gone to ease herself was just entering the room when she beheld the assailants. Her scream alerted neighbours, particularly members of a vigilante group established by the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police Command, Imohimi Edgal.

They also used the same stone on the woman and her 11-year-old son, Samat and dabbed their white handkerchiefs in the victims blood before leaving the scene. However, in their rush, one of them, Chibuzor was abandoned while others zoomed off in their operational vehicle. He was subsequently apprehended and handed over to the police, while the victims who were found in the pool of their blood were rushed to the hospital.

The residence of Jesse Area in Delta State are still in shock at the mysterious death of an eight-year-old girl and her 11-year-old brother, who were reportedly burnt to death on Thursday evening right in their mother’s kitchen.

According to Vanguard report, the fire was noticed by men working in a building site close to the victim's house, they raised alarm to call the attention of people around but nobody knew kids were in.

I started struggling on how to put out the fire, I was still struggling to put it out when I noticed Nyore and Omoyibo, were missing, we started looking for them and when we asked Favour, my neighbour’s kid, who was playing with the children before I left and he pointed to the direction of the fire, I knew it was finished,”

According to report, sympathisers tagged it an Unusual Happening because two other wooden kitchens sandwiched didn't get burnt amidst the fire.
