Why Did God Slay Onan (Genesis 38:3-10)?
The story of Onan, son of Judah, occurs in Genesis 38:3-10: "So [Shua, the wife of Judah] conceived and bore a son, and [Judah] called his name Er. She conceived again and bore a son, and she called his name Onan. . . . Then Judah took a wife for Er his firstborn, and her name was Tamar. But Er, Judah's firstborn, was wicked in the sight of the LORD; and the LORD killed him. And Judah said to Onan, "Go in to your brother's wife and marry her, and raise up an heir to your brother." But Onan knew that the heir would not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in to his brother's wife, that he emitted on the ground, lest he should give an heir to his brother. God slew Onan because the man contemptuously refused to fulfill his familial responsibility under the Old Covenant. This particular practice is called levirate marriage, in which a dead man's closest unmarried male relation (usually a younger brother, as in this case) married the widow to produce an heir for the dead man. This duty is spelled out in Deuteronomy 25:5-10 to preserve tribal inheritance rights (verse 6). Another, happier circumstance of levirate marriage is recorded in the book of Ruth, an event that eventually produced Israel's greatest king, David (Ruth 4:17).

I pity Nigeria so much because the country is been raped since 1956 from Oloibri discovery till date. Nigeria has only gotten 1/1000000 revenue from the crude produce / exported for over 40 years.

Mind you Nigeria does not know the actual volume of crude exported and LNG shipped

The OGGS line to Bonny Finima that carries gas to NLNG is sufficient to generate huge revenue for the country

I have been working in the oil and gas industry for over 16 years. Started my career in Bonny Shell Terminal, and worked in Europe ,America and Australia.

The truth must be told once and for all, the youth of Niger Delta are fools for not holding their Governors, IOC community reps and chiefs to ransom.

The IOC did not sign contract with Niger delta to explore oil nor did they receive OML / OPL license from Niger Delta host communities. Where do you think IOC get money to develop fields ? PSC contract / JV agreement with NNPC are mostly funded by these IOC with huge risk on their heads. IOC do huge CSR and the host community reps/ chiefs takes everything.

Also DPR don't even have the exact volumes of crude oil produced and exported from Nigeria, Note sealine valves at export jetty/ SBM can't be operated without DPR rep in attendance and also the UFM / control room is also to be monitored jointly by the IOC/ DPR rep.

NLNG Finima is another thing I will remain silent about. Nigeria is a banana republic !!

Note, husband used to work with Chevron in Lagos before getting job a job abroad with another oil company. Husband company sponsored him for permanent residence, now family are citizens of this country.

Wife never worked one day ( 8 yrs living abroad) since resigning her high profile job in Lagos commanding 6 figures salary, to join husband abroad. All because she wants a high profile job and can't imagine doing anything less than what she was doing back in Nigeria.

Now, wife is depressed and venting out on husband and her kids due to lack of job. Note, she used to decide everything with husband before due to her fat salary back in Nigeria. Now wife no longer give husband sex for close to 18 months, may be 1 time in 3 months frequency for 18 months. Husband and wife leaving as strangers under the same roof.

Note : marriage is over 9 years.

We have spoken to dude to be patient with his wife. This lead to husband having a side babe in Maryland US that is praying for the husband to file for divorce. The wife is very a wealthy background in Nigeria.
