Hello Gurus in the house,

I’ve been reading through this thread and I find it very insightful.

Congratulations to all those who have received their approval and to those whose approval is on the way.

Please and please I need your help.

I applied online for spousal open work permit since mid September and up till this moment my application hasn’t progressed beyond the initial background checks. I sent ircc a CSE a while back and they responded yesterday that they will treat my application within the shortest possible time frame.

But sincerely, the wait is tiring and I am sad to admit that I’m losing faith in the application. And so I would like to explore other options in case of a negative eventuality.

I would like to know if I can process a visitor visa while my SOWP application is still running.

I work here and my husband works in Canada with a PGWP. We just got married and we didn’t even have our honeymoon before he returned.

What are the possibilities? What would you guys advice we do?

Please help @ozzz

Thank you

My Visa was delayed based on home ties, purpose of visit and current employment situation... I believe it's not the end of the road and I wish every other person approval by God's grace

Hello YummyA,

Please can you shed more light on this? How did you conclude on this? Did ircc reach you with that detail? Was it refused? I’m worried mine is in the 12th week already and no update at all. Submitted online too.

It is quiet here!!! No update guys, medical request, bvl eligibility review Please let’s update the forum.
Thanks!!

Very quiet! Nothing at all.

I wonder if those with older running applications here have reached out to ircc.

I have a hunch ircc is focusing more on student applications right now for winter admissions against January 2020. I stand to be corrected.

@Girllikeme....I replied your mail request.

Good morning all,

This is to encourage us all and to wish those of us in the waiting line a brand new week of approvals and many YESES.

May our hearts’ desires and what’s best come our way in this journey and others to come.

Payslips slip in Nigeria or abroad?.... I ask these questions because the requirements as per IRCC official website demands that applicants must proof of funds for the first year of study and if program is more than a year, they must show the ability to cover for the subsequent years of study without working and not be a burden to the Canadian government. Hence why I'm surprised you got approval with just a 1M closing balance. Anyways, congratulations to you.

Hello all,

Allow me to weigh in. I’m not an expert nor applicant here anyway.

I think the payslips of the parents show they can afford to pay the 2nd semester fees when the time comes. The 1m parents’ bank account balance is just an additional assurance...not a key deciding factor.

Furthermore, the 3.2M in his own account covers living expenses for the 8month period. So it’s not surprising he got approval. He’s literally good to go.

But I’m interested in knowing what his next step is after the program. Will it qualify one for a work permit...or a PR perhaps?

@dyce101 I saw that

Right!

The duration varies too. It was 12 weeks some months back and it increased progressively.

But some applications are processed within the time frame and some take longer.

Ps: notice the trend for those who’ve applied in the thread.

Paper application ‘seems’ faster but let’s all hope for the best.

What is the duration of Work permit application

Check the ircc website for processing times. Fill in the drop down menus and the processing time for your application will pop up.

Happy waiting.

Medical Update for spouse and child and eligibility started 20/11/2019

This is good.

From the trend of applications, so far, it seems paper applications progresses faster than online route, contrary to what’s stated on the IRCC site.
