asp's will go for zonal interviews/screening. the successful ones will proceed to force head quarters for final interview/screenings (screening includes medicals)

The Federal Ministry of Finance yesterday assured that the Graduate Internship Scheme (GIS) initiated under the administration of former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, will not be stopped due to the current difficult financial situation in the country.

The Director of the Graduate Internship Scheme in the Ministry of Finance, Denis Chukwu, represented by an Assistant Director in the Ministry, Mr. Vitalis Egemba, told beneficiaries at the exit programme of the graduate internship scheme in Yenagoa, that though the country is experiencing difficult times in finances, the President Buhari led administration will not stop the programme.

According to Egemba, the Graduate Internship Scheme (GIS) has since inception demonstrated high prospects for job creation and social protection of the Nigerian Youths,”the programme presents an opportunity for graduate interns to gain employment in organizations where they worked, in other organisations or self-employment”.

Egemba said though with the minimal monthly stipend paid to graduate interns, beneficiaries have demonstrated high prospects for achieving the social protection and inclusive growth objective of Government,” the idea is to prospect for skills building and job creation, adding that the scheme has developed special programs for non-oil sector”

He said the Graduate Internship Scheme managers have entered into special partnerships with governmental and non-governmental organisations to have graduates trained, mentored and supported in areas such as; non-oil export trade, ICT, agriculture, community health, construction, financial inclusion, amongst others.

Doesn't affect your invitation except if after the review, you're found guilty of double registration. Ensure that other information filed are not the same because it will cost you your invitation.

thanks for your response. Pls, what do you mean by "outfit"? Pls, explain it better cos i signed the attendance for 3days, i collected the training certificate, i also gave my acct number as instructed. Is there any other criteria required? Pls put me through, thank you.

fear not, your allowance is not dependent on any oufit/consulting firm, they pay state by state. (simply put, is dependent on available funds) find out if others in the same venue has received, if they haven't then relax it would be paid. i have not been paid either(Abia)

before this response, what did you complain about and to what mail id? cos this people are still owing me two months stipend (oct n nov) and training allowance.

@Puntersmind,@Laduna1,@edokpia,@ask4bigneyo,@emmydarl and great citizens of this great forum,please i need your advice on what to do ,i was rematched with a firm at a jobfair in Imo State in October 2015,i also got a congratulatory message to join the employer for the internship which i did and has been discharging my duties till now,i happened to find out that my details is no longer with the firm and what i am seeing is ''exited" on my GIS platform,i can't access the timesheet any longer,i have written to info@gisurep.gov.ng attaching evidence documents with respect to my matching to the firm,i have sent messages to GIS facebook page but i have not gotten any favorable reply,please as it stands now i am still working with the firm and the January timesheet will be eclipsing by 7th February and i can't access it while my colleagues in the same firm have marked there's.Please what should i do?Thanks.

your employer is suppose to see your details on his page and re accept you.

From glory to glory is my wish for every one of us. With special reference to puntersmind for rematching me to a firm i later found favour n am partnering with today to expand n create more opportunities for others. @ laduna n edokpia u guys are wonderful.

Similar issue happened to my supposed colleague at our firm, she was rejected by my employer but the slot refused to come back, so that another can take her place. I think this partly due to restrictions imposed by GIS then with old system.

So my assumption now would be that with new system upgrade, the slot might still be available for employer to be reused again.

@laduna, Edokpia, do u guys have an idea if after rejecting an intern, if d slot can come back? Cos d intern i matched has a problem after accepting d offer.

Good morning all...Is there anybody here previously from FORECOM? Some intern in my firm could not see their time sheet on their profile which signified that they're exited the prog...but on their new employer profile, it's now showing that the new employer should re accept them. Anybody with that same issue here?

As much your other recommendations above are in line, GIS as reduce the number an employer can match online. My employer for example can take up to three interns perhaps after my exit, but yesterday We were trying to match fresh intern but only given one instead of three.

However, there's probability that the remaining might be reserved for job fair may be. Also registering now in popular LGA might be difficult to match because the pool of interns shown for matching seems to follow order of registration number other things been equal.

My advice to those that have find employer to be matched with is that if their registration number (ubc) is high, they should re-register and choose local govt they know in their state with lower numbers of registered interns, mostly this is not commonly or popularly known local govt. in ones state.

your new employer should do that n i think d modification is still on going, nothing will go wrong

yes your employer can now match prospective interns. i just matched one today, though they gave my org two slots. for those looking for employers to match them, now is the time cos the slots and time frame are limited. Good luck

@ Edokpia,@emmydarl,and great minds in the house,what could this mean.I just discovered that my details have been removed from my present employer platform,what i am seeing from my platform is the firm where i was matched previously that rejected me.My second match was October 4th,2015 which later changed to hired in November,2015.I have been discharging my duties and have not received any stipend.This issue is discouraging me because of the time and financial investment in my second firm.Please great minds of the house should advise me urgently.

so it is for every intern that was rematched, dont be discouraged.

I am suspecting a foul play on the part of the GIS team, i can't just help the feeling that keep coming about our unpaid stipend i think they owning us an explanation

A scheme that randomly select interns that will go for employability/exist training. is d training not for every intern? the same goes in payments (nevertheless, their may b error from employer methods of filling TS n wrong acc no). if u ask me, the scheme is lacking funds.

The Organization where i did my I internship needs 10 interns from GIS...
note, they will not pay you outside what Sure-p will pay... if you are interested, quote me then I can forward your details to the right channel..

Am having issues with my Training allowance. I was paid 15K instead of 25K and all my colleagues recieved 25K.
What should i do about this issue pls.
