a national team that was on its knees, depleted and lacking confidence and conviction to win matches, playing absolute thrash before he came, with the local coaches at the helm and we were on jeopardy.

Eric Chelle has created a proper team identity, created healthy competition for positions and improved the team a lot but yet some of you miserable journalist will be attacking him for your stupid corrupt NFF & NSC bosses.

Today look at us, a nation with so much footballing history and potential is now mopping the floor for lesser opponents.

Our local league is absolutely laughable, poorly funded teams that cant compete for anything in Africa for decades.

Women football, the special one we always praised with pride is now in serious decline, underage football is absolutely zero, even the men's national team is struggling due to poor administrative management that cant fightfor the teams welfare in CAF when we go to lay important matches...

You'll see african teams taking the super eagles to farms to play matches and gain advantages while we have an administrative body that can't demand the right thing.
NFF failed with south africa taking us to bloemfontein, failed with Guinea bissau taking us to that farm, and failed with the petition against Dr Congo.

But pride will not let you see the probelm, it is rather Eric Chelle you all speak about, because he is collecting a salary you all are angry about.

We are failing as a nation, in all ramifications, we are struggling for basics because we have failed to build anything for so many years, no new stadiums, no new sporting facilities, no proper funding, no merit for selection of coaches and players, tribalism, nepotism, all very stupid things have derailed this nation and the worst now is the football we love so much going down the drain.

It is just too bad...

I dont want to hear anything about local coaches again, I dont even want to hear anything about local talents again.
We dont have any of the both of them.
U17 and U20 left in the hands for these coaches have been shit for so long, not even producing any player capable of competing in the senior national team, hence why we lack replacements in the national team.

If not for Eric chelle and his relentless scouting, I wonder what will become of super eagles by now.

Until we get serious and reduce corruption in our system drastically... then we are not ready and will continue to rely on foreign players and ideas to move forward.

The day I wanted to move over 2M from Polaris to Stanbic, despite the last debit transfer occured on August and I have been banking with them as far back as 2012, taking fingerprint and matching my facial identity with my BVN slip, I was initially told that they cannot execute the outbound transfer because my handwritten signature which I used to open accounts with them did not tally with the signature on the transfer form. Amongst with several others, we were told to practise our signature on the form and you will be shown the one on their computer briefly. I asked of what use his fingerprinting and physical appearance then if there is a slight change in the stroke of the signature on the paper form. Over one's hard earned money? Are banks forgetting that we are asking them to just hold our money I.e to be custodians of our money until we need them and now they have turned themselves into an imperial bully on our account holdings. I had to call one of their senior bosses to get the outbound transfer done that day. As you know, their mobile app is not reliable. Before I contacted this boss, I was told to get a court affidavit, Valid ID, utility bill to update my signature on their system. Like in this advanced digital era, who relies solely on handwritten signature as a proof of identity? What happened to our physical appearance and fingerprint matching for Godsakes!! And the annoying thing is that Nigerian administrative sector unashamedly defend their archaic requirements. Introducing policies that only stress us out. Na wa o.

@yinkeys for that list, no need to stress Flask vs FastAPI yet. Your base is data, so go deep on core Python first: pandas, openpyxl for Excel, requests for APIs and JSON, pathlib for organising files. When you need a small web app, Flask is perfectly fine and easier to read as a beginner. Best trick: pick one real repetitive task from your work every week and automate it. That habit go teach you more than any course.

If you are goal-oriented and really serious, please don't waste your time going to school, atleast not in Nigeria. I wasted almost 6 years in school studying an agric course and i regret it. now, I am doing pretty fine as a backend engineer and for all the jobs I have worked, I have never for once had to provide my degree. If you become very good and land a good job, you can study abroad and get a degree in two years.

Look out for Devs Hangouts that happens in big cities like Lagos, Abuja, or PH etc. Especially Lagos, attend these physical hangouts and meet experienced developers and try to build your network for job opportunities.
Even if you are to attend a physical bootcamp like I did in 2022, your target should be primarily for networking.
Another option I will recommend is that if there is a high chance of job placement after the training but you have to be very careful because many coding schools claim to offer job placement to students after training but will struggle to fulfill this very promise because many tech companies are reluctant to hire a junior developer to be sincere.

Remember my earlier point is that you will actually learn more at a cheaper rate when you use udemy and Co compared to paying huge amounts to learn at a coding school.

As for me, I learn by reading documentation and practicing what I read from the docs, but this comes with experience sha.

But NIIT gives properly structured books as well as world class looking certificates from Python institute PCAP (USA) for example
One can add it to lnkdn to appeal to global gigs
I learnt Autocad a long time ago from that organisation and it was decent
Although drawing is not coding
I taught myself SQL through readily available materials online, I found straightforward & structured maps online but Python has been rough
Sad you may be right that one may not get a fantastic coder to teach because they’d be too busy with many companies work

If you can study online or look for a tutor, and then go for a vendor certification - that's it. You save plenty. Many years ago a lot of guys left NIIT and ran back to me to learn Java1.4
