CELEBRATING THE SMALL WINS

I was able to submit my visa application earlier today. It was really nice sorting out the IHS fees and visa application fees via Paga and Paga verve respectively. Many thanks to the forerunners who recommended paying with Paga and Paga verve. I was charged N383 per $. That's quite pocket-friendly in comparison to most other alternatives.

mypaga.com

A QUICK GUIDE FOR THOSE YET TO PAY THEIR FEES

I created an account on mypaga.com

I was asked to send some of my details via email for KYC. There are different levels of KYC 1-3 with different daily transaction limits (KYC level 3 is unlimited).

I transferred the sufficient amount of money in naira to my Paga account.

When I wanted to pay for the IHS fees ($1849.5), I chose the Paga option and I was directed to my Paga account. I was charged N708,358.50 for the transaction.

For the visa application fee ($465), I chose the Paga verve option and I used my MasterCard. I was charged N178,095 for that.

Sincerely, the priority visa's are very cool, when compared to the excruciating wait on visa decisions. 15 working days, seems like 365days .....
Cool but more expensive..

Hello everyone,

I am a prospective student due to start my PhD studies in Liverpool soon. Please, I wish to seek your advice/recommendations on opening a bank account (i.e. which bank(s) offer the best services particularly for students). Any other advice you deem necessary would equally be appreciated.

Thanks.

No, it won't. The driving courses you take are dependant on you.
You'll need to get an international driver's licence that will entitle you to drive for a year but you will not be able to drive after this except you apply for and get your provisional driver's licence (£34 online application and £43 for postal applications); I suggest that you do this almost as soon as you get here because if you think about applying after your 1 year entitlement expires, it might be difficult to get due to the less than 4-6 months leave left on your BRP except you submit a BRP with extended leave.
Once you get your provisional licence, you can take driving lessons and/or study for your theory test. Once you pass your theory test and you're confident about your driving and understanding of the driving rules/signs, you can register for your driving test.

You can use the official DVLA theory test kit or the driving theory test for car drivers.
Thanks for this expose. Please how can one obtain the international driver's licence?

Hi there,

1. I am also a prospective student of the University of Liverpool. Please what course & degree are you going in for?

2. I have been issued an unconditional offer long ago. For context, I had applied long before now. I deferred my admission from 2019 to 2020. I have not been issued CAS though. I am waiting to get my atas.

3. I got the unconditional offer very shortly after I met the requirements but this occurred in 2019 (deferred to 2020 and now to jan 2021).

Your TB certificate is valid for 6 months at least. I don't think there is a need to delay taking the test. You may also input the address of the university there.

Shall we connect?

Ebi566:
Happy for those that have gone for their biometrics and those that are anticipating. I have got a few questions. Your comments and recommendations are welcome.

1. Any prospective student of University of Liverpool here?

2. Have you been issued an unconditional offer or
a CAS statement?

3. Please when did you get this and how long did you wait after meeting your offer conditions before getting either of the above documents from the university?

I was given an offer and I submitted the necessary documents to meet my offer conditions since 30th of last month but the university has gone mute ever since. I had to cancel and rebook my TB because the university address must be included on the TB. I have now rebooked and would be going for my appointment early next month but I don’t know how safe this is. I am a mighty bit confused as to why they are yet to give me a feedback even after calling many times.

I will appreciate your advise everyone please.

Hello everyone,

Please any news on how soon international travel will resume in Nigeria? For those with UK visas, how can they travel to UK with the current absence of international flights in Nigeria?
Thanks.

1. Does the scholarship cover your tuition and maintenance? If it does, you don't need your bank statement but if it covers just your tuition, you'd need to show your maintenance in your bank account for 28 days before applying.

3. This is dependant on your personal preference. Does the scholarship cover your dependants? If the school is sponsoring your accomodation, will it suitable for your family? Would you like to settle in before you bring them over or would you rather you settle in together? The answer to this will guide you on when you'd like them to apply.
If you go with them, you'd be paying a little extra for your temporary accommodation (hotel / AirBnB) but you will have company to help with home sickness grin and if you don't, it means that you don't have to worry about the stress of house hunting and the initial settling in period on them. That way when they come to the UK, there's ready accommodation and settling-in information for them.
I'd advice that they apply after you settle in (to reduce the stress of settling in) but that's advice based on my own preference. You can choose to apply together and navigate settling in the UK as a family.

4. I'm not sure I quite understand this. Put in place as per documents or UK accomodation / school arrangements for your kids?
Thanks for your time and kind advice @mimilyrics.

The scholarship covers tuition fees, maintenance stipend and approx £4500 pa towards accommodation. Do you think I can easily find accommodation suitable for a family of 4 with £4500 for a year?

Similarly, is it possible that I apply for visa with my family but we plan that they will join me months after I settle (like 3 months after I settle)? Thanks again.

Hello everyone,

I would love to have your advice on some questions.

1. I was fortunate to secure a full scholarship to study at the University of Liverpool. Would I still need to attach my bank statement to my UK visa application if I am applying alone?

2. Is anyone here currently at or about to start their studies at the University of Liverpool? I'm hoping we could link up.

3. I wish to go with my family (4 including myself), would you advise we apply at the same time or sequentially?

4. If we want to leave for the UK at the same time, what would advise we put in place?

Thanks for your kind efforts and best regards.
