Thank you. I will try my luck next week. Appreciate the help!

Regarding TB test, it is best you visit their office, although to get next week may not be easy, but you could be lucky. Am sure you will get an appointment. Speaking from my recent experience at their Lagos office.

Thank you. I will work with this. Appreciate the help!

AlphaUno:

You can renew your passport since it's expiring in September. If you have the time, visit IOM office nearest to you physically for manual booking. Prepare to pay and get tested same day as you go for the booking, you might get lucky

Good Morning House, please I need your help.

I am trying to book a TB test for my daughter and I but anytime I trying booking online, it keeps saying no available dates.

Also, my passport expires in September and I will need to put in my visa application latest next month to avoid possible issues because of the passport expiry date. How do I go about getting a TB test done by next week latest. Also, is it possible to renew my passport although I still have one currently running?

I appreciate and welcome any reply that will help.

Thank you.

All I know is you need to prepare well they will send him materials to prepare, if he doesn’t pass rejection straight. So just know your school and course well and why you are going there.
Good luck.

What if her visa has moved to the tier 2 visa?

Exactly. I wanted to ask this as well

If I switch to a Tier 2, will she still be able to join me normally after my studies?

@ Ymcmbbb . UK rules keeps changing every time and you can’t predict . But as of now the rule is if your dependent doesn’t join your during your Masters Visa and study , Your dependent won’t be able to join you during your post work study visa ! Moreso if your dependent apples after 6 month of your program. Your dependent won’t get same length of visa as yours . I advise since she’s your daughter. You can apply with her from beginning and then after some months you can come pick her before the validity expires .

I stand to be corrected thou ‘

Thank you so much for this information. I was also thinking about applying with her instead then she joining me later.

I appreciate

Good Afternoon all, I'll be starting my masters in September at the University of Derby and will like to know the estimated time, based on your experiences that I should pay my confirmation fee? I initially planned on paying in May but I'll like to know if May is safe as I read somewhere about a prospective student who waited months to get his CAS.

I plan on arriving in the UK by August.

Also, I have a child but was advised by my mum to initially leave her behind so I can settle properly and she will join me instead during the post study work period. Can I process her visa as I apply for my post study visa since she won't be applying with me this period? And for anyone currently in the Uk who has had similar experiences, how long did it take before your child/children were given visas?

I am a single mum btw and I have gotten legal ownership over her

Thank you for your responses.

Thank you so much for the response. I know Oanda but i needed to be sure as i saw a few people mention Paga and CBN rates (not really sure if they were making reference to the visa application stage).

For the sole custody document, will i be needing a lawyer to go about this? or is it something i can get done myself after making necessary payments the court?

LagosismyHome:

The easiest way is to get court document showing you have sole custody..... a consent letter from her father means nothing because the rules states for a child then both parents must apply except in some cases such as sole custody or death or exceptional circumstances

2. The exchange rate used is oanda.... if you don't know this then you need to read more about the end to end process so u have a clear understanding. On the first page justwise has a post, best to go through it

3. TB test do expire so its best not to do it too early or else it might expire when u need it

4. The accommodation is fine but you don't need to show mandatory proof

Hello my fellow nairalanders smiley,

I have read through all the pages of this thread and the information shared has been very useful. I'll like to ask a few questions to gain more clarity.

So i have gotten admission to study Finance at Loughborough University and i want to find out :

1) I am a single mother and bearing the full financial responsibility for my child (she's 3 years) but her father is somewhat in the picture in terms of emotional availability for his child, would a consent letter from her dad be sufficient to present at the embassy to allow her travel with me.
2) I applied for a scholarship offered by the school and still awaiting decision on my application. I want to play it safe and pay my deposit to get my CAS but do you all advise that i wait to get a decision. i am worried the decision might come out too late and I've seen from a few people on the thread that CAS processing might take a while.
3) What exchange rate should i apply in estimating the funds needed in my account. I am aware i will need to show proof of the balance of my fees plus living costs for my daughter and I. what is the exchange rate you all are using in this estimation?
4) Given resumption is still in October and I plan on applying for my visa by September, is it too early to take the TB test?
5) Do I need to present the hardcopy of my transcript at the Visa Center?
6) I have family in Leicester willing to accommodate my daughter and I, can their letter of support in accommodation be used as my proof of accommodation or it is not mandatory to show proof of accommodation.

Thanks in advance. Hope we all get our visas

I did well in the proficiency in excel/ Word. My essay section was okay too. My interview panel said I did well in the presentation/interview so i’m a bit disappointed that I wasn’t contacted but God knows best.

And when success mails for AC dropped, a number of us chatted about it on this platform so i’m also wondering how come Just you for now has this bit of information. Not that i’m doubting you in any way.
enawt:

You don't want to know. Many did not make it to the AC stage. Between, don't expect people to reply cos many ain't here, none in my AC group.

I will inform you when I get a mail.
